Hi Try, Reboot press & hold power button, & menu, button, hold both, down, until you see Apple Logo you may, need to do this for upto 40 Seconds and more than once. Cheers Brian

Hello this is happening to us also (minus the Bluetooth speaker). We can't figure out what is causing the data usage. I turned off mobile data as soon s I activated the device, and got the message that unless I am connected to WiFi.....(that is exactly what I wanted). We watched Netflix for about three hours, then the alerts started. Like you we have many devices connected and never used over 2GB now all of a sudden we have used it in a matter of hours. My husband called Verizon and got the usual doubting Thomas response. I understand that they don't know my device settings. So over the phone we check all the settings and turned off every possible culprit eating up the data and end the call. By now I have purchased another gig for the month! Assured we are NOT using mobile data, we continue on the IE path to bliss. HA! A few hours later I check the mobile data usage on the Verizon website and that darn thing is still using data. After two more phone calls and two VERY uneventful trips to the local store we were told to take out the sim card. This has stopped the data usage, but it defeats the purpose of having the data plan. I could have just stuck with my Surface. Verizon sent us a new sim card. Its been installed and I have set my homepage to Verizon mobile data usage (just kidding) but I am on that site a lot. I am surprised at the number of complaints about this device. When we called the Verizon support acted as though this was the first time they had heard about this. Do you have any playlists? If so, I think for some reason the playlists may be causing the issue.
I had exactly the same issue (though for my iPhone) however I managed to get around it without blasting my iTunes music folder.
This is what I found:
Initially in iTunes, I had "Entire music library" selected - I had songs that were missing.
First, I unselected "Sync Music" and then did a sync to clear out my iPhone.
After the sync to clear everything out, I went back to iTunes and reselected "Sync Music".
I then selected the "Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres".
I then only selected everything in my "Genres". Reason being is that it was the shortest list. I also made sure all my songs were associated with a genre.
I also made sure none of my playlists were selected.
After the sync, I had all my music!
I hope that helps you and anyone else who had a similar problem.

Updated to iOS 5.1 and my iPad 2 reboots every time I edit a photo in photos.

I screen shot something and I wanted to crop something out in photos but when I tapped edit, it reboot my iPad. When it turned on again, and I repeated the process, it reboot again. I closes all the running apps and manually reset the iPad but nothing changed. Is it a bug in iOS 5.1?

I just tried it and it worked OK on my iPad 2 with iOS 5.1.
I've read that other weird problems with 5.1 were cured by going to Settings-General-Reset-Reset All Settings.
You might also try resetting (rebooting) by holding both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

Why my mawerick reboots every time when I try to mount afp drive over VPN ipsec?

After Mawericks update there has been a bug that prevents using afp file sharing with ipsec VPN. Mawerick will reboot every time when I try to choose folder to view. VPN connection and user authentication works fine until I have to choose which folder to mount. Any other VPN action like common web browsing doesn't cause any problems. It's only afp.
When I view logs I will find this one. It indicates that there really is some low level problem in drivers.
Question is: How I can fix this?

I was using the FB app that came with the iPad. What I eventually did was.
1. Held down both home key and on-off button until iPad shut down, then rebooted.
2. Uninstalled FB app.
3. Went to App Store and re-installed FB app.
The iPad had numerous problems. My son saw my plea on FB as I was accessing it through my HP computer, and he walked me through it. While he was at it, he taught me how to disconnect auto-correct. I am not certain that I want to keep that off, but everything is working the way it is supposed to the way it was in the beginning.
I am curious, though, as to what ears to the problem in the first place. After checking various sites, it seems that a code 190 has to do with windows not Apple.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Arrow in bottom left allows you to multi select. After you choose your photos, you can hit the delete button that appears in the bottom right hand corner. Or, you can hit the cancel button in the rop right and not delete them

No matter what OS im currently on, if I restart my computer and do not touch the Alt key, it will reboot in windows every time. How do I make it so it will reboot in Mac automatically?

So last night, I downloaded all my software updates and hit 'restart'. then I went to bed, thinking my updates would install themselves automatically. I woke up this morning only to find that my computer had restarted in Windows 7. How can i make it so that without holding down alt, my computer will restart in Mac, even if my starting point is in Windows?
--Also side note, why does my clock on my Mac OS keep getting messed up whenever I restart??

Tried to open an app and my iPad gen one froze. It only shows the apple on black screen and will show the operating wheel sometimes and while plugged in it will beep every few minutes. Will not load one show anything on screen but the small white apple.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Plug your iPad into your computer, open iTunes, and click Restore. This will reset your iPad to factory settings, so make sure everything important is stored safely. Once the restore is complete, do NOT restore from your backup.
If you still have problems, take the iPad to the Apple Store or another AASP (Apple Authorised Service Provider). If you're still within warranty, any service will be of no cost. Check your serial number here or find your receipt.

Since dowloading Ios7, my ipad cannot connect to 3G and when I have no wireless or 3G connection, it closes down and reboots every 2 minutes or so. This happened in central Manchester and also on the Virgin Train from Man. to London. Totally unusable.

Since downloading IOS 702 I cannot access 3G. Also when I have no access to wireless connection my ipad closes down and reboots every couple of minutes. I was trying to raed a book on a train from Manchester to Euston and had to give up. I found that auto-lock had defaulted to 2 minutes. I changed it to never but it made no difference.
