My iPad will show up in my computer, but will not show up in iTunes.

I have windows 8 and the latest software of iTunes on my computer. When I plug my iPad in, it shows up in my computer, but it will not show up in iTunes. I have tried everything besides resetting my iPad from the troubleshoot guide on the apple website. My mom just got an iPad mini for christmas and iTunes will not recognize her iPad either. I don't know what else to do.

I just got an iPhone 4S and am unable to get it to show up as a device in iTunes.
I previously backed up my old iPhone on my Windows 7 PC. When I connect my 4S to the PC it is recognized by the PC but does not show up as a device in iTunes.

Latley I have notices that movies in my Itunes library are "missing" from my apple TV's. I have checked under get info "type", checked show in windows explorer, but certain movies just are not in the purchased catagory on the apple tv.

Sign out of the Apple ID on the ATV and sign back in.
Honestly not sure why it matters, if they are on the computer, play them via the Computers option on the ATV to avoid streaming them over the Internet.

I'd go ahead and give the following troubleshooting steps a shot:
1. Try the iPod troubleshooting assistant:
2. Restart the iPod Service
3. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
4. Empty your Temp directory and restart
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
6. Change your iPod's drive letter
7. Remove and reinstall iTunes
8. Disable conflicting System Services and Startup Items
9. Update, Reconfigure, Disable, or Remove Security Software
10. Deleting damaged or incorrect registry keys

I'd start at the top and work through the steps until iTunes recognizes your iPod nano.

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

Fancy fonts show up on my computer but do not on web

I have recently installed new fancy fonts onto my computer. I've been using them to create a web page on iweb. If I go online on my computer, I can see them--but if I use any other computer, it does not show.
I understand that I'm able to see the fonts because they are installed on my computer, but does that really matter after I have published my site. I thought once the page is publish, it will show any fonts and graphics.
How is it that other sites are able to use fancy fonts???
How can I get my new fonts to show up on every computer?

If you do resort to changing text to image, do it sparingly or you will end up with a very slow downloading website. Every time you convert, a PNG image is created and this is a much larger file than the equivalent text.

Try completely removing and reinstalling iTunes and all related components; you may need to do this multiple times. It won't normally affect the iTunes library, but that should be backed up anyway.

The requirements for that app state that you need a 3rd-generation or 4th-generation iPod touch, with iOS 4.2 or later. Is what what you have?

I have an Ipod touch 5th generation and I seem to be having problems with it not being recognized in Itunes. When i connect my ipod to my computer it automatically opens my computer(file explorer) on Windows 8. But, when i open Itunes it does not realize an ipod is connected. I have restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, have restarted apple mobile device, and run diagnostics and troubleshooting(didn't work because it couldnt recognize my ipod touch) and still none have fixed my issue. However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause (after you do the above)

I have iphone 4 , updated to iOS 7 and had to reset phone, lost many contacts. Fixed a duplication problem on contacts. Now the problem is with email, I have a cox account, icloud account. I can send myself a test message and I always get it on the phone. I do not consistently obtain other emails, yet all the emails show up on my home computer. Do I have my settings messed up?

OK, I did the following:
I read and then deleted ALL the messages waiting for me at the Tiscali server using their webmail option.
This left my Tiscali in box completely empty.
To be on the safe side, I deleted all my Email Accounts on my Mac and loaded just one, the [email protected] - i.e. my Tiscali email address. I also reset and then changed the password.
I then got Tiscali tech support to reset my mailbox.
I then crossed my fingers!
I then sent myself a number of test emails, some from the Tiscali server webmail option, some from my PC laptop and some from Mail on my beloved Mac.
I can now confirm that I can send emails from my Mac using Mail but cannot download any. All that happens when I click "Get Mail" on Mail is that the program looks at the pop3 mail server at Tiscali but doesn't see the test emails that are waiting there for me to download.
Any suggestions???

To be of any assistance, I need the following info
Which version of itUnes are you using?
What is your iPod software version, as shown in the Itunes summary page? 1.1.2 or 2.0.4
Are you running Mac or Windows?
Have you tried the Hard Reset?
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

IPod Nano shows up on "my computer", but "sync" is grayed out in iTunes

This is my second iPod that has has the same problem on two different computers. I have run diagnostics, and the only test that fails is the one to sync. I have went through all of the help steps located there, and still cannot get it to work. Since this is the second iPod, and the same thing is happening I'm guessing it is not the iPod. The first one was a 3rd generation, this one is a 4th generation Nano. I would appreciate any help as I have done everything possible and nothing seems to make a difference. Thanks

Did you try reformatting it then? If so, what happens when you tried? What happens if you try connecting the iPod to your PC in Disk Mode?
