My iPad won't load videos or streams home

My iPad won't load videos or streams well when I'm home but when I'm at school it seems to work fine. Would that be a connectivity issue. If so or if not, how would I fix this?

  • Ipad won't load past apple screen

My Ipad won't load or shut down.  When the cover is opened the screen w/apple is there..desktop sometimes comes on, but as soon as screen is touched it returns to apple screen. I backed up the ipad with itunes on computer and attempted to restore it but it  won't
restore until "find my ipad" is turned off, which I can't do since the ipad won't load the settings.
Updated to ios7 two days ago and was working okay.  I'm not sure if this has something to do with the update.

    Have you tried rebooting?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • 42tl515u Netflix won't load videos.

    Dear Toshiba TV Forum,
My 42tl515u will not load videos to play instantly from Netflix. I activate the device, and it comes to the screen with all of my correct preferences and recently watched shows. I know it is communicating with netflix. When I select a show to watch, the loading screen displays. After a short time, I get the message "We're having trouble playing this title right now. Please try back later or pick a different title." It does this for every title I try. I can rent movies through Vudu and I watch them at HDX settings flawlessly. I doubt it is a connection issue, and since netflix connects, I doubt it is a server rule blocking a port. However, despite having looked for a solution for weeks to this problem and finding no one else experiencing this difficulty, I figured it is unique. I have exhausted every other avenue, and I have to ask for direct help. Please fix this problem. I have confidence this is an anomaly for Toshiba, but I want it corrected.
    Best,
    Chris

I'm having a similar problem.  Here's what happens when I attempt to stream from Netflix:
    1) I push Netflix button on the remote;
    2) TV asks if you're a current Netflix member - I say Yes;
    3) the TV then says, "To have movies streamed instantly from Netflix...
Go to your computer and connect your device to your Netflix acount.
              1. Visit netflix.com/activate
              2. Enter this code: ----- (the TV will provide a 4 or 5 digit alphnumeric code)"
    4) On the Netflix website, I go to "Activate Your Device" and it says, "Follow the instructions on your device to get an activation code."
    5) I input the code provided by the TV
    6) Netflix processes the code and says "Activation is complete
You are ready to watch instantly.  Go check it out now!"
    7) As soon as I get the "Activation is complete" message from Netflix, the TV says "Your activation code has expired. Not a problem - just 'Get a new code.'"
    8) You can then either "Get a new code" or "Exit".
    9) If you get a new code, the exact same process plays out.
I've tried this over a dozen times and the same thing keeps happening.  I clearly have online access through the TV (e.g. I can use the Yahoo widgets).  And the TV and Netflix website appear to be communicating with each other.  However, there's a definite glitch in the Netflix app on the TV.
Any suggestions?  Anyone else having the same problem?  Is there a firmware update in the works to fix this problem?  I like the TV and have enjoyed it in the short time I've owned it, but I will have to return it if Netflix is not accessible.

    Hi Arlene,
If you haven't already done so, does restarting or resetting the iPad help the issue?

  • Apple's Videos App on iPad won't load my shared library

    Hi,
I've been looking for an answer to this problem for ages!
    Symptoms/context:
You have all your movies onto one big drive
You have uncheck Preferences|Advanced|"Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library"
(this way all titles will be linked to your big drive, not copied)
You have drag/drop those movies from your big drive in Finder into your iTunes Movies library
You have enabled Home Sharing (File|Home Sharing|Turn On Home Sharing)
You have disabled the old way of sharing (Preferences|Sharing tab|Uncheck "Share my library on my local network")
You have proudly added a very nice artwork for each of your movie so that you'll get nice thumbnails in iTunes
    by using Identify.app
or by looking on the web for the best artwork (i.e. flickfacts.com), saving it locally, then drag/drop on your movie in iTunes (Get Info|Artwork)
You're using Apple's Videos app to load your shared library on you iPad
(Start Videos app, select your Shared library, wait a while, then all your thumbnails are displayed fine)
Then as the days go by, you realize that loading your library is taking more and more time, up until that day when all **** brakes loose and you get stuck at the small round clock progress bar, and you wait and wait but no thumbnails is coming up anymore. You reset everything to no avail. What happened?!!
Well here's what I had to do to fix that problem:
    Everything is about movie thumbnails!
In my case I had an overhead of 0.5GB of thumbnails for 650 movies! That's an overhead alright! By overhead I mean that the sum of all my thumbnails was 500MB, so the Videos app had to load this (maybe not entirely at once but...) every time you start the app and select your shared library. This explain  why the app get slower and slower has you add new movies, thus new thumbnails/artworks.
But this doesn't really explain why ultimately the Videos app stops loading all of a sudden!
I realize the iTunes doesn't like:
Movie that doesn't show the correct icon preview in Finder
Invalid movie formats - I'll explain later
    Big thumbnails
Read all 3 steps and don't forget the last paragraph at the end.
Movies that doesn't show the correct icon preview in Finder
Ultimately, I think that was the main problem of all my 3 steps
In Finder, enable the Icon Preview:
View|Show View Options|Check "Show Icon Preview"
You should now be able to see you thumbnails like this in Finder:
    VALID:
    INVALID:
But if you see any of these icons, the Videos app on the iPad might stumble a bit when loading the library
    or
If that's the case for some of your movies, you'll have to make sure that ALL your movies have a proper thumbnail. This can be achieve:
    by using Identify.app - see (note1)
or by looking on the web for the best artwork (i.e. flickfacts.com), saving it locally, then drag/drop on your movie in iTunes (Get Info|Artwork)
Once the thumbnail is corrected, it should display fine in Finder and iTunes
    Invalid movie formats
There might be some cases where even after correcting the thumbnail in step 1., this icon still remains invalid.
If that's the case, you'll need to:
Either delete the movie altogether and rip it again
or reconvert it. For example with iSkySoft iMedia Converter Deluxe has a "Speed conversion" option that allows you to reconvert a 2.5GB movie in about 5 min. After the re-conversion I just had to do step 1. and all was fine, and the thumbnail would show well in Finder/iTunes.
Big thumbnails - may be optional
To speed up the loading of the movie library you have to reduce the size of the artwork that you insert into each of your movie's metadata:
Get the artwork on the web (i.e. flickfacts.com) and preferably a .jpg format, and save it locally
Open your movie file with Preview (Apple's preview app)
    Tools | Adjust Size
Fit into: 640x480 pixels + OK
Save As (press Option before Saving) and save it in another folder (I called my folder "Reduced to 640x480")
Note: if you want to do this on a bunch of files at once: select all your files in Finder, right click and select Open. All you .jpgs will be opened in Preview. Then Ctrl-A to select all in Preview, then you can resize them all)
You'll noticed that a 1.5MB artwork can easily reduced as small as 50K-200K.
For example, I went from 500MB to 72MB for all my artworks. Much smallest overhead wouldn't you say?!
Now comes the part you'll all love : you need to remove ALL your old big artworks for ALL your iTunes movies:
    in iTunes | Movies
    Right click on a movie|Get Info|Artwork tab|Select the artwork|Delete
Drag/drop your newly reduced .jpg to that same window
    Click OK to save.
You can't do that in batch, you have to do each manually like this (if anyone has a better idea, I'm all ears)
    See (note1)
(note1) Important: If you use a program like Identify.app to retrieve the metadata/artwork, I'm pretty sure the size of the automatically retrieved artwork is quite big by default (around 1.5MB-2MB) so you might wanna be careful here and use it to retrieve the movie's metadata, but after that do step 3. to replace the artwork with a smaller one.
    VERY IMPORTANT
Once step 1, 2 are completed (and I had already completed the optional step 3) you have to remove all movies from iTunes (see note, next sentence ) and drag/drop them all back from your drive to your iTunes Movies window. BEFORE REMOVING ALL MOVIES FROM iTUNES, make sure that the option (Preferences|Advanced|"Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library") was uncheck. If it was checked, I'm pretty sure it will delete all your movies on disk, not only in iTunes!!! - you'll have to investigate this yourselves or make sure you have a good backup copy of your movies first.
Since I've done all this, my iPad's Videos app is taking about 10-20 sec to load my over than 600 movies library
    Pfew!!
    Have fun gang,
    Jean

This worked for me... A little time consuming but once you get rolling it goes GREAT... Thanks....
I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now.

  • IPod won't load video from iTunes

Hey there people, this is my first time posting in here and I really need a hand. I just bought a 30 gig video and I converted some files on my computer to mp4 and the videos are viewable under movies in my iTunes. The problem is that when I plug my iPod into my computer a warning box comes up telling me that I cannot load the file onto the ipod because the ipod won't support the video (or something along those lines). Is there anything that I can do to fix it?? Please help!!!
    Thanks alot,
    A.

What did you use to covert them? The iPod has rather specific conversion requirements where as iTunes is a bit more relaxed. So it is perfectly reasonable to have video files that will play in iTunes but are not right for the iPod (bit rate too high, etc.)

  • I Tunes won't load videos

    hi all,
My itunes will load and play quick time files and .m4v files but when you try and load a .avi or any other file type nothing happens.
You go add file to library, selec file ans hit ok.. then nothing . nit doesn't apear under video's and there's no error.
    any help ?

iTunes does not support or play AVI files. It will only play "QuickTime and MPEG-4 movie files that end in ".mov", ".m4v", or ".mp4" and are playable in QuickTime Player. "
More about video in iTUnes and on iPod can be found here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302758#3
You could search the net for a converter program that will convert your AVI to one of these formats. If your wanting them on iTUnes so you can load it on your iPod, try seaching the net for iPod friendsly format converters

  • IPad won't play videos

I have downloaded a few videos from my iTunes onto my iPad and when I click on them all appears well and the time bar along the top counts up as if its playing the film however it's just a blank screen.
I have tried removing them from my iPad and reloading them onto it using my laptop and via iTunes on my iPad but the problem still persists.
I have also tried restarting my iPad but no luck :(
    Can anyone help?

I could certainly be wrong, but I think that this is more a problem with the app itself than an issue with the movies but without knowing if you ever had success... Have videos ever worked for you on the iPad in the videos app?
If you have been able to play videos in the past, and if this is a software issue and not a problem with the videos, The last two things that I can think of that might help would be to reset all settings and if that doesn't work restore the iPad software.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. I does take some time to enter all of the device settings again, so I want you to be aware of that.

  • Right after upgrading to Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro, some websites on Firefox won't load videos and some look like html (or something like that).

I've used Firefox for a while on my MacBook Pro (about 1.5 years old) and it's worked great. Should be fully updated too. Immediately after I upgraded my OS to Mountain Lion, some websites wouldn't load correctly (looked like html or something). Also some websites like YouTube show video fine, but then at least one other website doesn't show the video window at all, much less play it. Safari doesn't have that problem. Any ideas?

Did you try turning off power nap?

  • IPad won't load website images

I am trying to load a website on my iPad using safari. When I go to the page it does not show all of the images. I spoke with support and they said that it was due to the way the website creater created the website in relationship to tying the images to the shopping cart part of the code. Support was unable to have all pictures load when on a second iPad and also on a Mac. However when he tried firefox it worked just fine which means it's a problem with safari and the coding only on apple products as the website loads just fine on a pc using safari. Does anyone know if there is plans to allow safari to accept this type of code?
The website that I am trying to reach is:
    Jaimelee.scentsy.us/buy
Any knowledge or help would be great!
    Thanks

I followed the steps that you listed and had no luck in getting the images at the lower half of the site to load. I know that they top three or four images load, but the rest shows up as a blue box with a question mark. Did you happen to get the site to load completely all the way down?
    Thanks
The problem with this site is that the images which don't show are being delivered from the server extranet.scentsyoffice.com with an https secure connection.
    An example is: https://extranet.scentsyoffice.com/Scentsy/Shopping/Images/PSW-TWIG_thumb.jpg
This secure connection requires a valid server certificate, however, the server certificate is recognized by the iPad Safari browser as invalid and the images are not displayed. Note that if you try to display the link for the jpg file above on iPad Safari you will be given a dialog to accept or reject the invalid certificate. Once you accept the certificate you will be able to display the original page and see all the images.
If the certificate is indeed invalid then other browsers (e.g., Mac Safari or Firefox) are apparently overlooking this deficiency for jpg files.
The site should probably check into this and, if the certificate is, indeed, invalid, correct this problem.

  • IPad won't load my list of movies
