My iPad won't respond

My iPad was jailbroken yesterday by a friend of mine. It got slower and slower by the minute and last night it stoped responding twice, so yesterday at 11:30 PM I decided to erase all content and settings. And now, more than 17 hours later it's still loading.
What to do?

Contact the jailbreaker for assistance. Neither Apple nor anyone on the forum can help you as we do not know the characteristics of your device.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Hold Sleep/Wake button down and slide to turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

HT4910 rec'd message is more than 2 wks since iCloud backup. clicked ok but now iPad won't respond to any commands. I'm not At home, need to get to settings to connect to internet to do backup. This inquiry sent via lap top.

Keyboard inside ipad won't respond

Every once in a while my virtual keyboard will not respond. I usually click out of wherever I am and go to notepad and it works just fine. Should I just do a reset? Any advice?

Perhaps the battery is completely drained? Plug the iPad into the charger that came with it and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Leave it alone for at least an hour. Then reset your iPad. If the iPad starts up leave it plugged on until the battery reaches 100%.

i have:
-imported the HDD from PCG-R505DL to IBM Thinkpad and installed the required drivers(didnt work)so i moved it back
-installed new copies of windows to bootcamp and other two computers(same results)
-updated all computers itunes, checked firewall, no virus software installed
-used 5 USB cables, all from apple, all work with other iDevices
-tried to restore(sucessfull on working computer), no effect on the others
-tried it on my friends new macbookpro (no effect)
-neither my iPod1,1, my iPod3,1, nor my dads iPad2,1 have any issueswith this(or other) problems
(the "1" computer menchioned in the description)(PCG-R505DL)
-is exibiting signs if imnent failure, ex. hdd cable going bad, ethernet not working, wifi card going out, CD Drive Useless, freezing, rebot doesnt work, crashing (none of these issues are present if HDD is plugged into other computer, so not a virus)

First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
You won't have to swipe anything on the screen to reboot the iPad. Hopefully this will correct the error.

TS4268 when using iMessage, sometimes the send button won't respond. I've tried restarting the ipad mini, but no luck. It still works on my laptop. Any suggestions?

Messages only works with other iOS devices, but if you were trying to text with a non Apple device you should see a not Registered error with a red exclamation mark. Maybe you are typing the message in the subject field by accident.
Go to Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field>Off.
