My iPad won't turn back on!

It was updating because of the recent new version and I wasn't sure if it will delete the info in my iPad so I pressed the home and lock buttons and held them. I'm trying to turn it back on but it won't! Did I break it? Or is it just installing? Right now, it's plugged onto the charger in hopes that it will turn on, but so far, nothing's happening.

Try this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

VGA adapter crashed my ipad now it won't turn back on again

I connected my iPad to my Panasonic plasma TV's PC port using the VGA adapter. I was watching a youtube video. I left the room and when I returned a few minutes later after the video had finished and the TV was blank (no problem there as the video had finished), but my iPad had switched itself off and now won't turn back on again. Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a soft-reset to see if that gets it to boot up ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Have you tried forcing a reboot? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. If you see the silver apple it's rebooting and it may com back that way.

It sounds like you're not able to use iMessage on your iPad. You've tried some good troubleshooting steps, and I'd recommend these additional steps:
Turn off iMessage and FaceTime and restart
Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
Restart your device.
Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on.
Still not activated after an hour?
It might take a few minutes to activate iMessage and FaceTime. If you've waited more than an hour, try these steps:
Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS.
If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.
Contact Apple Support.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
