My iPad wont backup to icloud

Sync your notes to your iCloud account by going to Settings>iCloud and turning Notes on.  Then check icloud.com to confirm that your notes appear there.  If they don't, your notes may belong to a non-iCloud account.  Open the Notes app and tap Accounts, then check to see if the notes belong to the iCloud account.  If they don't, you'll have to open them one by one and copy/paste the text into new notes created in the iCloud account in order to get them in iCloud.

    Howdy okkuenlilli,
I suggest this article we have named iCloud: Troubleshooting creating backups found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3992.
    General troubleshooting
    General information
iCloud Backup requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet.
Automatic backups occur when you've plugged in your iOS device, locked the screen, and have connected it to Wi-Fi.
You can manually start a backup by tapping Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup (requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet).
iCloud Backup will provide helpful information and status messages related to backups at the bottom ofSettings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
If automatic backups don't work as expected, test to see what happens when you start a manual backup by tapping Back Up Now at the bottom of the Storage & Backup screen.
Backups and restores both take time, especially if you have a lot of data or a slow connection. Depending on the size of your data and the speed of your network, you may need to give more time than you expected to a backup or restore.
Make sure you have at least 50 MB of free space available on your iOS device before you back up. If you have no space available on your device, iCloud Backup can fail in some cases. You can verify how much free space you have available on your iOS device in Settings > General > About.
SettingsiCloud Backup settings are controlled on a per-device basis from Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
To view Storage & Backup settings:
Tap Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    Tap Manage Storage.
Tap your device's name. From here you can:
View the size of your backups and see the storage used by each app.
Enable or disable Backup for each app.
    Delete Backups.
    Buy more storage.
If you're out of iCloud Storage space, you can apply several solutions:
Exclude Camera Roll and other large data from iCloud backups of your device by going to iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage and choosing your device.
Remove some of the larger files on your device, such as large audio or video files, from your Camera Roll in order make more space.
    Remove existing Backups.
    Purchase more storage.
For more information about managing and using the Storage & Backup settings, see this article.
If an issue persists and you are not able to resolve it using the methods discussed in this article, contact iCloud Support for additional assistance.
If you have a specific error message, there is a section within the article to look that up.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

Why start a new and very similar thread to your other one which you have not responded to (have you read the replies?)
I suggest that no response is made to this duplicate thread.

  • Keynote presentations wont backup to iCloud

I have changed a presentation on my ipad and it wont back up to icloud. Instead it spins and says updating presentation but it never gets finished.

I have been able to upload PowerPoint presentations from my PC to my IPad. Now I can't. Even presentations that were successfully uploaded before now will not. The error message is "can't be uploaded because its file format isn't supported"
What's the solution?  Is this the result of a recent upgrade?

  • My ipad wont backup. No matter what I try, it simply wont backup. Keeps rebooting.

I already deleted the mobilesync folder, deleted some of my apps to make free space (11gb of free space now), restarted the ipad, my macbook, and attempted many of the so called "solutions" and still got nothing. My device is not jailbroken, is running 4.2.1 and my itunes is 10.2.2. Cant seem to backup no matter what.
Any (other) ideas how to fix this?
    Thank you

Then I assume that you read the link that Carolyn posted and tried to log in on the Mac with a different user account and that didn't work. I've Googled this over and over for some time tonight and I'm sure you have as well and can come up with nothing else.
Did you try Settings>Reset>Reset All Settings? Not sure that would help at all but that sticks out from my reading tonight somewhere. If you do that - reboot your iPad before you try to backup again.
I wish I had another idea for you but I am down to thinking try Express Lane Support. I would hesitate to restore because you have no backup to restore from and you would have to go back to factory settings. Express Lane couldn't hurt but I'm not sure they would help either. If you've had the iPad for less than 90 days you can get free phone support from Apple. If you are close to an Apple Store an appointment at the Genius Bar might be a good idea as well.
Quick Edit - the other poster solved his issue by reading that link in the thread that I gave you. I know you said you read the thread but did you go to the link, read the article and try those steps?

  • My Iphone 4s wont backup to icloud

The error message says "The last backup could not be completed" I have been getting this message for 7 weeks
I have deleted my last backup and tried again.
My icloud storage is 9.4GB available of 15.0 GB on icloud.
I have tried to manually force a backup
    I

If you get the error "Backup not successful" and you've tried deleting the last backup and trying to back up manually without luck, try the following test:   Go to...
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap your device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options.  Turn off all apps from backup and then do a manual backup.  If that doesn't work, then this post will not help.  If the backup works, then go back to the app list and turn some on and try another backup.  If successful, keep repeating these steps.  If it fails at some point, then try to zero in on the one app that seems to make the backup fail.  (I had this problem and found one app failing, probably due to a corrupt data file.)
This process will take time, but if a backup works with no app data being used but clearly fails with the original settings, then somewhere in the mix of apps is a "bad" one.

  • Ipad wont connect to icloud on laptop

MY IPAD 2 WILL NOT CONNECT TO ICLOUD ON MY LAPTOP PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME

If you have an iCloud account, launch a web browser and type "iCloud.com" in the address bar and that should take you to a sign in site where you can access the calendar, contacts, iWork's files - whatever you are using with iCloud .... If this is what you are trying to do.

  • I have both my iPhone and iPad backing up via iCloud, but they are not sharing the information between devices ie if I purchase an app on one it does not transfer to the other although the backup is successful via iCloud.

I have both my iPhone and iPad backing up via iCloud but the data is not being shared between the devices. When I backup it appears to be working as there are no error messages but the data is not shared between each. Any help would be great as this is very frustrating.

Backing up to icloud is not the same as syncing data between devices.  Go to
Settings>Store.  Turn on the automatic downloads that you want on that screen.
Settings>iCloud.  Turn on the features you want to sync between devices.

  • HT4859 How can I restore a previous backup in iCloud storage for my iPad?

How can I restore a previous backup in iCloud storage for my iPad?

Restoring an iCloud backup requires you to first erase your iPad.  If you have any newer data that you want to save you'll need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the iPad and when given the option, choose Restore from iPad backup.

  • How do I restore my ipad from a backup on icloud

I am setting up a new PC windows 7. How do I download all my programs and files from the Backup on icloud

If the iPad has ever been synced to a computer, move the content (the ENTIRE iTunes folder) from the old computer to the new computer.
If the iPad has never been synced to a computer and the content does not exist on another computer, simply download previous purchases from iTunes.

  • Ipad mini iOS 8.1.2 won't backup anywhere; icloud or itunes

Got an iPad mini, trying to backup to iCloud. When I go to the iCloud settings, click Storage, then Manage Storage, then this iPad, the Backup Options just spins. Never been backed up.
    Tried hard reset. No change.
Deleted non-existent backup, hard reset, turned backup back on; no change.
    Turned iCloud Drive off; no
Tried backup to iTunes on Mac; cannot back up because an error occurred.
Tried backup to iTunes on a windows machine; cannot back up because an error occurred.
    Thoughts?

It's also an issue I encountered with my iPhone 5 eversince I upgraded to iOS 8.1.0. I can't backup my phone using both iCloud (with error: The last backup could not be completed) and iTunes (with error: iTunes could not backup the iPhone because an error occurred).
When my battery was replaced by Apple Store, they formatted my fone and installed iOS 8.1.1. Before restoring my data (iOS 8.0.0 backup), I did a quick backup for both and they were successful. When I restored my data, the backup problem recurred. I also updated my phone to iOS 8.1.2, but still the problem was not resolved.
WIthin the week, I'll be receiving my iPhone 6 Plus but I up to now, I don't have a backup yet for my data.
    Hope someone can help me...
