My ipad mini 16g doesnt want to hold charge i got back from school and then i put in charge it was 9% so i put in and went to watch tv then go a notifacations thats 5 percents remaining then i took it out and tapped okay then i put in back in charge and it wasnt charging then i did it again and still then i put the adapter in a different wall socket and it still didnt work this was my second charger now i am angry please help i dont have a money to get a new charger

I suggest that you call the Apple Store and set up an appointment to take it in to get it checked out.

Hi When you change your iPad, even if its off it will, turn on when you connect, to charger Check lightining port for any bits. Do a Reboot press &hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo This may help. Cheers Brian

Also, just noticed this now....i have it connected and its got no battery. It will shut off like it died (while connected to the laptop) and then after a few minuted it will turn on. with the battery icon saying "not charging"

Chances are your USB port is charging but only when the screen is off. This is e behaviour i get from our pcs.
Make a note of the battery level, plug it in and make sure the screen is off, after and hour check the battery level.
It should have charged a bit but very, VERY slowly.
Your computer port normally only delivers 500mha of power. Some modern macs deliver 1100mha. Anything less than 1000mha wont charge with the screen in.
The iPhone charge delivers 1000mha and the iPad charger delivers 2100mha.
So it not charging via the computer is normal.

Not sure from your question how you are trying to charge your iPad. Many users try to charge by connecting the iPad to a USB port on a computer. The best way to charge your iPad is to use the charger that came with it and plug that into a known good wall outlet.
If you are using the charger plugged into the wall and the device is not charging you should
First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Then make absolutely sure the wall outlet is good. If the iPad still won't charge the problem lies in one or more of following:
Charger is faulty.
Cable is faulty.
iPad socket is faulty.
Charging circuit in iPad is faulty.
If you now someone with an iPad ( doesn't matter which model) you can try their charger to eliminate that.
Borrow someone else's lightning cable to eliminate that.
If still no joy, make an appointment at an Apple store to have them look at your iPad, cable, charger, etc.

Are you plugging it into a pc? If so it will not charge the iPad as there is not enough power try the back USB ports, may work.
If it isn't plugged into a pc and plugged into your socket could be faulty socket adapter.

My ipad wont charge or sync to my macbook - help?

I have had my ipad for 1 month now, all of a sudden it does not want to charge or sync. When i connect to the supplied 10v cable there is no icon change to say 'charging', i have tried resetting, turning on and off etc and still does not work. When i try to connect it to my macbook and sync through itunes it does not appear on the side listing. I am now down to 10% battery and need some urgent advice.

My iPad has done the same thing. It did this only after one day. It successfully synced once, I downloaded about 20G of data, but has subsequently refused to re-sync. Charge icon does not display charging status when plugged into any power source. Have tried multiple cables. Have re-set settings, all the stuff suggested in the user manual (p170). Nothing works. Weird thing is that iPad keyboard works fine when docked, but still does not recharge. Down to 33% power, reluctant to start deleting iTunes and OS software, as suggested, for obvious reasons. Anyone else had some problem? I realise Apple will probably replace machine, but as I live in Alice Springs will take time, so not happy about that.

If the reset doesn't work, you may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

Let it charge for a while longer. Thirty minutes on the charger after sitting dead in a drawer for a year is not long enough to see if it still has life left in it. Give it another 30 minutes or so and if you don't see the charging symbol the battery is most likely dead.
You can try plugging into your computer and see if iTunes will recognize it and if it does, try restoring the iOS software. If it remains unresponsive, you can have the battery replaced - and hope that's the only problem with the device.
