My ipad wont hold charge

when I charge my iPad it will charge to 100% but won't hold charge.  My iPad is about 3 years old. No other trouble. I've turned it off and then on and it still does this.

you to ,you should just get a new iPad ,the iPad mini its so much faster and 16 GB its  only 279$ and you get one year warranty with it to,and since years its 3 years old ,then you don't have warranty on the iPad you have now .why would you wanna pay 299 for a new battery .when you can get a new iPad mini that is much faster for 279 and plus one year warranty with it

  • IPad not holding charge

Please help it shows that it's charging but battery keeps going down

Do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
If it continues to not hold charge take the iPad and charger to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test it.

  • Wont Hold Charge?

I have a 5th Generation 30gb iPod video that I need help with. It cycles from the apple logo to the sad ipod screen and it is not recognized by my computer or itunes. Is this because the battery cant hold the charge? Please help me!

  • IPod Shuffle 4G Wont Hold Charge

So i have a brand new iPod Shuffle 4G and it has only been through around 3 charge cycles. It takes the expected three hours to charge. A couple days ago, i charged it fully so that the green light came on. I only listened to it a couple hours that day. The next day, i turned it on and it said 25 percent with the voice over button. An hour later, the voice over button said battery low. I certainly haven't used the iPod for the 15 hour battery charge span that Apple claims. Is there something wrong with my iPod? All replies appreciated:)

    Hey there
I would probably guess that you have a faulty battery if your numbers are correct. Remember though that your battery life is affected by many things. Are you listening to songs which are of supreme quality? That uses more battery than just the standard AAC 128kbps songs. Otherwise, take it back to where you bought it.
    Hope I helped
P.S. Its crucial you never let your iPod get to hot, batteries hate heat.

  • 5th gen wont hold charge!

I have a 30gb 5th gen, its around 3 years old (so, out of warranty), and for the last week it has been refusing to charge. When i put it on my Logitech speakers it is fully functional and the battery symbol says it is charging, but no matter how long i leave it on there it dies the second i take it off! my laptop has also stopped recognising it when i plug in to the usb. I have read lots of posts from people with the same problem but have still not found a definitive answer. Is there a solution or is my ipod officially dead?

    Time for a new battery.

  • Wont hold a charge - wifi, location, bluetooth all off and charge runs out in 3 hours (no calls even)

Everything working fine and then all of sudden it wont hold a charge
    - Turned everything off - wifi, bluetooth, locatione etc
    - still wont hold charge for than 3 hours ( no talking even .

Joe - Pretty much all of my media is either ripped or downloaded through itunes. I don't use any file sharing sites. I'm going to have to go through and delete the few things I do have that I don't remember the source.
Now this is interesting. I went and picked up my ipod tonight, and talked to the guy at the apple store. He said that since the ipod's been through two test cycles, the problem must be in my playlist. He told me that in testing they completely wipe the ipod and load it with test songs to see how long playback lasts. I got it home and turned it on, and it has all my old stuff on it. Is that normal? I figured it would just be wiped. And to this point it seems to be holding a charge, which makes no sense if the problem was with my files because they're all still on there. Very confused. I'm going to leave it another day without syncing it to see what happens, it really doesn't make any sense.

  • IPad 4 loses charge too fast.

I just got a new iPad 4 it seems to lose charge too fast.  My  iPad 1 holds charge much better.  Last night I lost over 30% of charge and I made sure nothing was running.

Switch off the options you don't use like bluetooth, location services wi-fi etc.
To switch off the bluetooth option go to settings>bluetooth
To switch off the Wi-Fi option go to settings>Wi-Fi
To switch off the location services go settings>privacy>Location services.
Also reduce the brightness of the display if it is not needed from settings> brihtness & wallpaper.

  • HT4060 For some reason my iPad wont charge at all I'm using the same charger I use on my other iPad n it still won't work

For some reason my iPad wont charge at all I'm using the same charger I use on my other iPad n it still won't work

Try giving it a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
But  if that charger works just fine with your other iPad and not this one, I'd call up your local apple store and make an appointment so they can look at it. Usually when an iPad wont' charge (when plugged into the wall with its supplied charger) it's
    Bad outlet
    bad power brick
    bad cable
and if the charger is working with another iPad then that rules that out and the thing left is something wrong with the 30 pin port on the iPad, or perhaps something with the battery or software that monitors the battery. ANd things like that are beyond a user fix.
On the upside if the device is still under warranty - and barring any obvious signs of abuse or neglect - then it should be covered under the warranty.

  • My ipad wont turn on or show battery level when charging

I dont know what to do, my iPad wont show up in iTunes, the computer doesnt recognise it, the battery icon wont show up when it is plugged in and it doesnt turn on.

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My ipad wont turn on batterry is fully charged any ideas?

  • Ipad wont charge wall or computer

I plug my Ipad (1) into the wall or computer and it wont charge --- takes days --- now I dont think it charging at all.  What can I do?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Failure to charge usually is caused by
A bad wall outlet (iPads do not charge efficiently when connected to a computer)
    A bad cable
    A bad charger
If you can rule these out by connecting or using other chargers, cables and outlets and you did the reset me tend able then Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • TS3274 My iPad wont charge and I bought another charger and it still won't charge

My iPad wont charge and I bought another charger and it still won't charge

Could it be the cable?  Did you try another one?

  • HT4060 My iPad wont charge at all. I'm using a wall charger and nothing shows up by the percentage.

My iPad2 will not charge all of a sudden I don't know why. I'm using a wall charger and the battery symbol doesn't show up as being charged.

Could be the cable, charger or iPad. Plug the cable into your computer, if it says not charging, the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.
