Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

1. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
2. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
3. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
4. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
5. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons

Hello My Iphone3gs is not letting me buy apps when ever I try to it asks for the password then it pops up with ''Verification Required to help ensure the security of your apple id we require additional information'' I press ok and it then asks for my password agian i put it in and then comes up with a blank grey screen saying loading with a moving swirl next to it then the password pops up agian and then it wont stop asking for my password. the same for when I try to buy from the Itunes on my computer it keeps asking for my password.

Yester day i got my ipad mini 2 and signed into my apple account. I go search for an app like youtube and click the "get" button after clicking install they asked my sign in, i click "use existing account" then type in the email and password. then the button just turns back to "get" ! it wont let me get any apps and it doesnt tell me if my password or username is wrong. i type in the worng password to check and it tells me it is wrong. so i type in the correct password and it does nothing. PLease help!

It sounds like you are entering your Apple ID email and password but the Get button just reverts to Get with no error message at all. I would start by quitting the iTunes Store, Settings, and App Store apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
Then sign into your Apple ID in Settings > iTunes and App Stores and try downloading some apps again. That should get you going.

My Iphone 4 will not let me purchase apps. Its says that I have an unresolved balance. My credit card is on file but it says that the security code is invalid. I have tried changing my address to be more specific, but nothing works. I know my credit card number is correct and that the security code is valid. I do not know how to resolve the situation. If someone has experienced this before and knows how to fix it you help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You might try to see if you can change your security questions. Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account > Password and Security.
I'm able to do this, others say they need to input answers to their current security questions in order to make changes, I'm inclined to think its worth a try, you don't have anything to lose.
If that doesn't help you might try contacting Apple through Express Lane (select your country, navigate to iCloud help and enter the serial number of one of your devices)

Mac App Store says "Unknown error."

The Mac App store is giving me an "unknown error" when I try to install a purchased app or but another app.
I *think* this is a result of me running a chmod or chown recursively on the wrong directory. I've run the "Restore Disk Permissions" on my main partition and although that said it fixed some things, it didn't solve my App store problem.
What user, group, and permissions do I need to set and on what files and directories do I need to set them in order for this to work?
As a side-note, I'm logged into the app store with my only account. Choosing "Sign Out" from the "Store" menu does nothing. I upgraded to OS X 10.7.4 and rebooted today. I've deleted the App Store cache files and rebooted.

How about third party software. If you have anti virus software installed, disable that.
Little Snitch can cause the issues you are experiencing also.
And try deleting the App Store cookies .plist
Go to ~/Libary/Cookies
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Try the App Store.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use
