my ipad will not update to the latest version iso 5.0.1 it is currently running on 3.2.2, its give a message saying not eligable for the requested build!!!
i have always used the ipad on same computer! it has not been jail broken and i am running the latest version of itunes!!
Does anyone know what i can do to get this sorted please???

Do you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer. iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1 or later. Check and update iTunes on your computer then try to update again.

A very common error, I know the ins and outs of it because I searched it up like crazy.
I have an iPod Touch 4G, 1 year old that is stuck at 4.2.1 firmware, and despite it is the exact same model as is being sold in the shop right now, it seems it is being treated like redundant tech left behind in the dust.
Anyhow, literally everyone ever who has had this issue, and they rectified it by modifying the Hosts folder like this following handy guide recomends

However, despite this seems to work for everyone, it hasn't worked for me. For a start, most guides *** to modify the following line from
#74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
to
# 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com (only difference being a space)
But in mine, that never existed to begin with, and strangely enough, all my hosts are Adobe. So as another guide suggested, I added the line myself, both with and without the space, and followed the guides perfectly, but with no success.
Can someone explain to me what on earth is going wrong here?
All I want to do is restore my iPod and start a clean slate, then probably upgrade to iOS5.

There are a number of similar posts coming on here, did you change your Apple ID, are you the original purchaser of the app, did you recently do an update of the iOS? I just updated two apps on my iPhone which has iOS 7.1.1 without any problems at all, so a little more detail would be helpful.

What App? From where?
You can only get Apps from the App Store. nowhere else. If you are trying to download form a website you cannot do it.
If you need Flash Support for websites, you can download a flash supporting browser from the App store.

No, it's only on iPad 3 onwards - possibly because the iPad 2 doesn't have the noise cancellation hardware within it.

On plugging in my iPod Touch (4th Generation) it comes up "This iPod is not eligable for the requested build" aftering the backing up and verifying sequence.
Now, since attempting to update to iOS5, I can't restore to an earlier version because it's just.. caput.
On doing a direct file update, I get 3002 Error.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
