My iPad2 does not reduce the size of photos when I email them
My iPad2 does not reduce the size of photos when I email them - however my iPhone does, can I make my iPad reduce the size as well?

Hi Frank: After you have selected the photo for the email and started to compose the email, check on the right side of the window. There it will show the image file size, tap there and it will give you options for the photo size. Hope this helps.

What does not affect the size of the classfile
Hi
does inclusion of extra whitespaces affect the size of the classfile (that gets created after compiling).
does inclusion of java comments increases the size of the classfile.
are there any other things that when included, does not affect the size of the classfile.

Madhu_1980Shouldn't you be worried about getting your program working by using the right constructs rather than constructs which result in a smaller .class file?
Are you restricted on the sizes of your .class files? -
How does one reduce the size of a photo on iphoto. I want to post images to my website but they exceed the limits.
Select the photo(s) and export (file menu ==> export) them. You can change the size there setting a maximum pixel dimension and/or reducing quality

How do I reduce the size of photo in iPhoto? The size of my imported photos from my camera are 2 - 3 MB and for my purpose I need 200 - 400 KB. Scanned copies of older photographs with a size of 100 to 500 KB work very well. Any help is greatly appreciated.
File -> Export and make your choices in the Export dialogue.
Jpeg Quality and Size will have most effect on file size. Note that 'Size' refers to the pixel dimensions of the photo.

How do I reduce the size of photos to use on website?
Thanks to the helpful person who recommended I use Rapidweaver to build a website, I am slowly getting somewhere. It is so simple and just like Apple applications that I think I can do this.
My problem now is that when I tried to transfer a photo from iPhoto to the draft website page it comes across so large it fills the page.
How do I reduce the size of photos so that I can bring them across? I need to show about 20 photos on the web pages. Do they need to be in a different format and if so how do I change it to the appropriate one?
Many thanks.
ibook Mac OS X (10.3.9)Hi Casuarina,
Go to this site and click on the Desktop Version Quicktime movie for a small tutorial. It will explain everything to you and you can see how you resize right within Rapid Weaver. It's really quite nifty.

I have the latest iPad update on my Ipad 3 as of September 23, 2012.
I havejust taken a series of photographs with my iPad that I would like to share with family and specific friends ONLY. I have set up the photos I want to share in Photo Stream. I have synced them to my PC via iCloud. Everything is fine except, the pictures are far too large to share ... and I don't know what exactly I am supposed to do in order to give my family access to these Photo Stream pictures.
How do I reduce the size of photo stream pictures once they are on my PC via iCloud?
What exactly do I do to give access to the photos on Photo Stream to specific people?
How can I share the videos I have taken with my iPad?
Many thanks for your attention. I look forward to your reply.Select your photo/s.
File menu > Export..
Kind: JPEG
JPEG Quality: Maximum
Include: [√] Title and keywords
[√] Location information
Size: Full Size
File Name: Use filename
Select one of the photos and open in with Preview.
Tools menu > Show Inspector
Under the second button choose IPTC and it is all there.
Sorry for all the confusion.

How to reduce the size of photos
I want to reduce the size of photos, for example 50% samller. Please give me the steps in iphoto, but outside prepairing photos for export/mails.
If your talking about reducing the photo by percentage, from within iPhoto to leave in the Library, there is no way that I know of to do that. You must either Export or Send to Email. And even there, now way to simply select reduce by percentage. You would need to detemine the resolution in pixels of the original and reduce the pixels by half.
I would use Graphic Converter to do that. It has a scaling feature to reduce by percentage. -
Save As Does NOT Reduce File Size
I have tried everything to reduce the file size of my Adobe Acrobat Pro X Form with Save As (Reduce File Size, As Optimized, etc...). Unfortunately, the file size does not reduce. I send to a friend who has Acrobat 9 and he is able to reduce the file from 45mb to 182kb...what gives? He sent my original file to his co-worker who has Acrobat Pro X and he has the same issue that I do. This appears to be a version issue. Any help would be appreciated as I have about 150 of these that I need to get down to a reasonable file size.
Actually, I found something else. It's very curious.
The form fields themselves are OK, and there is only one tiny copy of CopperPlate Light.
There is a place in a PDF where there is supposed to be a copy of each font used a form field. This lists (presumably) every font you own and then some - over 500 fonts, all embedded. This is clearly not what you wanted and not what the software should do.
It would be interesting to know the life cycle of this form (by which I mean how it was born and what happened along the way). It was made with Acrobat 10 from Word, but that (presumably) didn't do the bad thing. Can you remember what happened to the file in the mean time? Was it only EVER edited in Acrobat X, or were any other utilities used on it - even if they didn't seem to be related to form fields at all? Do you have any old copies before it grew in size? -
Hello, I have an ipad2 with iOS 4.2.7 but am trying to update it to a 5 or so. The problem is that the"settings" environment on my pad does not have the "software update" option. Please what do I do to enable me update my iOS? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

TileList does not recognize the size of vertical Scroll Bar
Hi,
I have a tileList with a custom vertical scroll bar that I made, the problem is that when the tilelist gets filled, it does not recognize that the vertical scroll bar width is not the default 16 pixels (I think the default value it's 16, but I'm not really sure) but 5 or 6 pixels, so the first time it gets filled it shows 3 columns of items (no problems with the rows). The columnWidth is set to 185, if I lower it to 180, it shows the 4 columns that I want it to show (instead of 3). I know that there is enough space because when I scroll down, and then scroll up, the fourth column appears. That's why I think that the TileList is not recognizing that the width of the vertical scroll Bar is less than the default width.
Does anybody know how to make it recognize the new width? And how is it that it has to take a scroll down to get it to recognize it.
Thank you for your help.
Sebasti'an Toro O.Yeah, you can try signing up for DropBox - it's a free service that allows you to sync any files between your iPhone and your computer. More info here: http://www.dropbox.com/about

Reduce the size of photos in iPhoto
Okay, I just discovered that my wife's camera's been set to take pix at pretty much the highest resolution possible for a good while now, which would explain the dramatic decrease in storage space on my hard drive.
So, I was wondering if there's any way to reduce file size. I know you can do this by exporting, but I'm wondering if there's any way to do it within iPhoto, keeping the dates and any other metadata intact. I like being able to sort by date, and auto-splitting into events, and I'd rather not try to re-sort the whole thing manually, not that I think I could...
ThanksNo - the only way is to export the photos - you can not change anything in the iPhoto ibrary directly

Project View does not show the Path and Filename when errors occur
I have the problem, that errors occur in the project but in the colum that shows the "Resource" I can only see the "Project Name". Normally it should show the filename. The "Path Column" is completely empty. The "Location column" shows the correct line number in the file (but unfortunately I have no Idea which file). Double clicking on the row does not do anything.
I'm sure it had worked, but no idea since when this problem occurs. I am using Flash Builder 4.7.I was able to resolve this by repairing permissions, even though no permissions error was listed specifically for that file.
I could also have recovered it through Time Machine, but I'm interested in knowing how not to have this happen again!
I was afraid of rebooting and possibly losing track even of the ghost.
I did not try EasyFind - I'll keep that in mind next time.
Thanks for all the comments. -
Is there a way to ADD photos to my iPad without replacing the ones already there? I am trying to add photos from a computer that does not contain photos already synced to the device.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
