My iPad2 screen is stuck on 'landscape'

Anyone know go to sort out my screen that won't switch from landscape to portrait when I turn the pad?

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If so, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • The screen is stuck in landscape in the music app on my ipod touch

The screen on my daughter's iPod touch is stuck in the landscape position. When we turn it to the portrait position, it stays as landscape. However, the screen orientation for the other apps works just fine. Does anyone know how I fix this?

Try resetting the iPod.  It curs many problems and nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

  • Stuck in Landscape mode

In Mail I am stuck in landscape mode. It will not rotate back to portrait regardless of what I do. I can not find any icon that indicates that it is locked in landscape. All of my other apps will rotate correctly, it is only the mail client that is locked in landscape.
    Any suggestions?

Since last night, my phone is launching in landscape mode and will not rotate to vertical mode no matter what I do.  It seems as if the Desk Cradle - which I never use - has taken over my phone, and even when I shut it down, the screen stays stuck in landscape mode.  Really don't want to do a hard reset, especially if it won't resolve the problem, so would love some guidance here on possible causes and solutions.  Thanks in advance for your help!
Don't be offended, and I know this sounds like a stupid question, but did you by chance turn off the auto rotation button? I couldn't get my phone out of landscape mode, then I finally thought to check the auto rotation button and it was off.

  • My BB Curve 9380 screen stuck in Landscape

My screen has somehow become stuck in landscape display. I've tried pulliing the battery but this does not help. How do i get it back to automatically change between portrait and landscape modes as i rotate my phone?

    Hey Toobaalam,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
This issue may be an issue with your computer, the BlackBerry® Desktop software does not have the option to automatically synchronize or copy .exe files to the BlackBerry® smartphone. You can disable mass storage mode on the BlackBerry® smartphone, this would prevent the computer from accessing the media card when connected to the computer.

  • Home Screen Stuck in Landscape!!! Droid Razr HD

I have tried everything I can think of the auto rotate works for all apps the rotate, the auto rotate switch is on, I have tried configuring levels. I have tried all but a hard reset which I am willing to do I just don't know how and I don't want to do it if its not going to fix the problem.  The screen wont rotate in any normal phone function texting, home screen....etc...????

Hello Jamesd5784, this is definitely out of the ordinary! Was the Razr HD connected to a dock or separate accessory that had it get stuck in landscape mode? We can place the device in safe mode first to rule out any 3rd party apps from causing it to stay stuck. Here's steps: http://vz.to/PtCCtS The last resort option would be the hard reset to get the phone back to factory settings.

  • IPhone 6 screen unresponsive at times and certain apps stuck in landscape

i have noticed on my iPhone 6 that sometimes the screen is unresponsive when I'm trying to go back in certain apps and those apps also get stuck In landscape mode... It's like the phone freezes up. Anyone else experiencing this?

In the last couple of weeks (and nothing has changed) - I noticed that my iPhone 6 will remain in landscape mode if I lift it up too quickly.  It's not frozen - but it's not detecting that it is upright.  The workaround seems to be lower the phone to a horizontal position and then lift it again - slowly - and that seems to restore the portrait mode.  I could understand if this started happening immediately after an update - but it did not - it started about 2 weeks ago.  Typically the app that I use in landscape mode (the most) is youtube.  I'm wondering if it is something with the YouTube app - but I don't recall any recent updates for it either.

  • On/off button stuck, messaging screen stuck in landscape mode

I have had my iPhone 4 for 1 year and 1 month. It has been great up to two days ago when the on/off button mysteriously quit working. Then, today the messaging screen just froze in landscape mode. I have been googling my problem and the average response is to reset your phone. Which makes sense, except I can't use my little on/off button. So, what can I do? Super annoying to text in landscape mode...Help me!!

Can I turn off my phone using the accessibility feature and then plug it in to a power source to turn it back on? It may reset my messaging screen...I can live without the lock button but I'm not a fan of texting in landscape mode. I just want to for sure know the power source will turn it back on.

  • Iphone 6 gets stuck in landscape mode

    Hello
iphone 6 or possibly the ios update has some bugs.  For instance, it gets stuck in landscape mode even though the screen rotation is not locked.
In addition, safari does not react quickly when trying to access the menu to close a page or add a new one.  It takes several attempts and after uing the home button several times, the menu finally appears.
    Please advise

This is happening to me too.  Some posts indicates that it is more likely to happen in zoom mode and switching to standard mode fixes it, but my phone has always been in standard mode.  I am having this problem with an iPhone 6 128 GB phone with iOS 8.1.  I hope this is only a software problem and not a hardware problem.

  • IPhone 6 getting stuck in landscape mode

My iPhone 6 keeps getting stuck in landscape mode. Also the camera will not always open from the locked screen, it just bounces up and down but does not slide all the way up to launch the camera app. Is apple working on a fix?

  • Samsung stratosphere keeps getting stuck in landscape mode?

All of a sudden a couple of days ago my phone started getting stuck in landscape mode, even when the auto rotation was off. I didn't mess with any of the settings to make this happen but sometimes I have to turn the screen on and off a couple of times before it goes back to regular mode. I even factory reset the phone today, but it is still going on.

Hmm it would do that too, but I actually just realized what the problem was when
I took the snap on case off. Apparently when I slide the keyboard down the
bottom part of the screen goes beyond the part where it's supposed to stop. I'm
guessing that caused some kind of censor to not work properly. But thanks for
    the help.

  • Stuck on landscape mode when playing music - intermittent

Kind of a weird problem here.
Occurs intermittently, but still very very common
When listening to music for about 10 mins or more, and ipod touch 2g is placed in pocket or while lying down, the screen switches to landscape mode and displays the album art. This is normal.
However, about 75% of the time, if I were to turn on and unlock the ipod, the screen is stuck on the landscape mode, and does not rotate back.
This is anoying because i don't have the pause, rewind, ffword buttons, or the music slider. no matter what i do, shake it, reposition it, turn off and on , it will not rotate from the landscape album art.
the only way to fix it is to press HOME, and go back into MUSIC.
while this isn't the end of the world, it certainly doesn't appear to be normal behaviour. I have no problems with any rotation for any other apps. Just music, and only if its been playing for a little while (not long, ~10mins)
Any suggestions? I called apple, and they said to restore it to factory default.
obviously that is a valid suggestion, just wanted to get any input before losing all my data
    thanks
    Mike

I haven't seen it get stuck, but -- when I'm in landscape mode (I have a speaker that holds the iTouch in the landscape position), is there a way to get to playlists? The only thing that I see is the album covers. Even if I press the home button, and then press music -- it switches to the album covers and I can't select anything except the albums. Please help.

  • Stuck in landscape then portrait mode...

After attempting to watch a video, the iPad stayed stuck in landscape mode. None of the following helped: turning on & off, attempting to sync, shaking it around, using different apps. I finally did a Reset All Settings and it put the device back in portrait mode but now stuck there. Since all else has failed, I am about to do a Restore.

Make sure the Screen Rotation Lock button on the side isn't locked.

  • Screen orientation stuck in messages

I updated to the new operating system and my screen in messages is stuck in landscape orientation.  Has anyone had this happen and how did you fix it?

I had the same problem.  I reset the iphone by holding down the two buttons for 5 seconds until the Apple logo shows to reboot the phone and that fixed it, good luck
