I recently got my iphone unlocked because i wanted to change my carrier. today when i connected my iphone to the itunes it started updating the software! all my previous data was erased and now it wont detect the sim card! what do i do?
Updating iTunes has nothing to do with an iDevice going into recovery mode.
If the device is in recovery mode, restore it via iTunes on a computer. -
what can i do if my iPhone cant read the sim card and couldn't be activated and when connecting it to my macbook it says no sim card installed
This Apple doc might help ya out -> iPhone: Troubleshooting No Service or No SIM
If those tips don't take care of it, try contacting the carrier to get another SIM. -
Basically, phone suddenly said there was no SIM card, despite being able to recieve texts moments earlier. There were no bumps or anything out of the ordinary between these. Tried the recommened tips but no success, also tried restoring my Iphone but now it cant be activated as it cant find the SIM, tried my brothers SIM with no success but my SIM worked in his phone. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Remove and re-insert the SIM.
Clean the contacts on the SIM with an eraser.
If it is still not working, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement. -
N9 Can Not Detect the Sim Card
Hi Guys,
I have N9 which was dead due to some reasons, I just gave to Nokia Care and they have reinstalled the software and returned to me.
I insereted my microsim and it didn't detected, they Nokia people used their sim card and that worked. I just bought another new sim card and put it in, it worked let's say 2 hours but now again showing the icon of "No Sim Card". I tried restarting, removing sim and inserting again etc...but till now no Luck.
I am extremely angry as I paid a huge some for this device and it didn't work for me. I just bought it 2 weeks back.
Any Idea what could be the problem, I am going to sue the mfs if they are not going to give me a new device or money back.
Thanks. If it stops recognizing the sim card after a while it could be due to wear and tear, but since it's new and you have tried a new sim card I would say it's obvious that there is a hardware fault with the device. Could be the contacts reading the sim card.
Get it replaced or take it back for repair. They should be helpful fixing this.
Hope you get it sorted and you become a happy camper as I am - so far -
Please help
If it was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it before you upgraded, it is most likely bricked now.

Was the device purchased as unlocked or locked to a specific carrier? If locked, is the SIM card from that carrier? -
HT1430 iPad2 is no longer recognizing that the SIM card is installed
My iPad2 is no longer recognizing that the SIM card is installed. I keep ketting a "NO SIM CARD" message even though the card is in the slot. I've tried switching on and off, resetting and removing and then reinstalling the SIM card. Any ideas?
check with your service provider, may be there is a problem with the sim card, if yes
get a replacement sim or see if you can borrow one from someone just for TESTING purpose it it works -
Hi, I upgraded my Iphone 3gs from version 4.1 to 6.0.1 but upon restarting, the sim card is no longer recognized, i cant restore with itune nothing at all!! i'm so confused and ****** off... please provide any help
Is the SIM from the carrier the device is locked to?
Has the device ever been hacked or jailbroken?
Have you tried simply removing and re-installing the SIM? What about replacing the SIM? -
I have just upgraded my Ipad2 to the latest operating system and on restarting it is some foreign language and is asking for the sim card number when I don't have a sim card. What do I do?
i have to apologize up front for the cheeky response. but i just couldnt resist. if your ipad is speaking in tongues. i would call a priest and perform an exorcism on it first.

When I went to AT&T they put the sim card into my ipad2 but nothing seemed to happen. He said at least it should display "AT&T" at the top left hand corner but it didn't appear.
Do you active the cellular network yet? setting > cellular > view account

Yes, the message is self-explanatory. You need a carrier who supports Apple's activation policy for an iPhone.

I'm in the US right now and want to buy ipad2 wifi 3G. Can I change the SIM card when I get back to my country in Indonesia?
Yes, as long as you purchase the GSM version (AT&T) and your Indonesian carrier supports an iPad with a micro-sim. Unlike the iPhone in the USA, the iPad is not locked to a carrier.
