My iPad2 touchscreen has unresponsive active zones

I rebuilt my iPad 2 last weekend from scratch; fresh IOS 8.1 software, cleaned out the redundant apps, plenty of free space and all working nicely.
Until this weird problem...
the touchscreen doesn't respond to gestures. Rather, it only shows the active zones (not sure of the tech term for this) on the screen, which don't respond to anything. Can you see the rectangle highlighting the slide zone around the "slick to unlock" zone in the image below? Prior to the iPad locking, I was seeing this type of thing everywhere, regardless of the app.
I have tried the software reset (holding the sleep & home buttons for 10sec) a couple of times... but the problem persists.
Being prepared to restore from back-up, I tried to back-up the iPad via iTunes, but that process requires the iPad to be unlocked (which I can't do.) Doh!
I can only guess I accidently triggered the state via some clumsy combination of actions.
Can anyone suggest a solution please?

The sad truth is even with Find My iPhone activated on your iPad, it does need to be connected to the internet to be tracked. And even more sad is that someone who steals your iPad can restore it as a new device, which when done, will make it impossible to track. You need to do the following:
1. Most important - Change your Apple ID password and the passwords of all mail accounts and Apps with a credit card tied to them.
2. File a police report
3. Apple will not help you with a stolen device, so there is no purpose in contacting them.

Xperia Z1 Compact touchscreen completely unresponsive!

If anyone could assist here,would be really appreciated. My Xperia Z1 Compact touchscreen has become completely unresponsive for no rhyme or reason! It had some sound output issues when upgraded to Lollipop which were resolved but today, I noticed that the SIM card slot cover was not closed properly so I opened and closed it. Next thing I know the screen is totally unresponsive to touch or swipe. Displays fine. Tried rebooting using power/volume +, removing SIM card, removing memory card, and then updating/repairing via Sony PC Companion (via USB). Touchscreen is still completely unresponsive on booting up. Please help if anyone has a potential solution. I bought the phone just 6 months ago and was working perfect until Lollipop came along!! Thanks much.

Rather than taking the phone to a Sony Centre, contact your local Sony Xperia Customer Care team to find out where their authorized repair agents are based and I am sure they will be able to organise for your phone to be sent in to be assessed under the terms of warranty. Am sorry to hear of the long wait you experienced last time.

It could either be that the backlight is out. In that case, you can still see the interface, but it is very faint. Shining a light on it from the side should let you see if this is the case.
The other option is that moisture has gotten in there and caused a problem. If you have gotten it wet in the past, that is likely what has caused the problem.

Turn off iphone power button broken and touchscreen selectively unresponsive

I have an iPhone 4S w/ iOS 7, my power button has broken so I have enabled the Accessibility features in order to lock and unlock my phone.
That has been working fine. Now, my touch screen is selectively responsive. It IS NOT broken or damaged in anyway. I can access the pull down and pull up menus, I can ask Siri to search for something and I can scroll through the responses she returns. I can visit one of those web pages she returns and scroll inside of those as well.
However, any scrolling that is related to a Home screen function I can not perform. For example, I can't "flick" away apps to close them, I can't hold down the "Lock Screen" button which then presents the "Slide to turn off" slider, the touchscreen won't slide the slider... When I do access either the pull down or pull up menus, I can see them but I cannot select anything on them, the touchscreen is unresponsive. When my phone is locked I can't swipe to unlock it.
We do not have home POTS service, so this is my only means of calling for help if I needed to, and now I can't. This is a very unfortunate failure.

I think the next step is to do a reset by holding the sleep and home buttons down at the same time until the Apple logo appears. If you haven't done this before, keep holding the buttons when the turn off slider appears. The screen will go black and after what seems like an eternity, actually several seconds, the Apple logo will appear. When the logo appears, release the buttons.

Sorry, I can't tell what it is you're trying to ask. What does the warranty have to do with your intention to return the iPad (to whomever) and get another one?
There's no way to deactivate a warranty.
The warranty transfers with the machine, has nothing to do with the owner.
Look around in the Support pages, you can figure out a way to type in your serial number and see what your current warranty status is.

How can I find out if a user has an active session or sessionObject in the application Server.
When a user logs on to my web-application, I want him to be able to see a
list of all the other users that are also loged on. To do this I need to get a
list of all the session objects avaliable in the sever at that perticular moment?
In J2EE 2.1 I found the class "javax.servlet.http.HttpSessionContext" with the method "getIds()"
that returned all the session Id's. By using the method getSession(java.lang.String sessionId)
from the same class, you could then retrieve the sessionObject.
But these methods are depricated (and want to be able to use the
latest version of J2EE).
Is there any other way to do this?

Essentially what you have to do is implement this interface. You also have to register the listener in your web.xml, like this:

You need to check Event linkage is either Activated or Deactivated aor these above work flow . I fit is activated it shows green light.

How to determine that the Mapped User Id has the active r/3 account?

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to determine the whether the mapped user ID in portal has active or inactive user account in R/3.
For example:
We have implemented SSO between WAS & backed R/3. Now the user has the active poratl account but the R/3 account is inactive or locked due to some reason. Now in this situation when user logs in and hit the application then the screen display's the 500 internal server error which is not understood by the client. The requirement is to display the custom message instead of 500 internal server error inorder to direct the user that his account is inactive or locked in R/3.
I have to handle this within the WDinit method of the Componenet controller which will stop the processing if incase the above is true and display the appropiate Error Message.
