My ipad2 will not swipe to open

I don't know what's happened but it won't swipe to open. I've tried restoring it and resetting it. If I keep trying eventually it will work. How can I fix this?

The odds are pretty staggering that you would get two iPads that both have this same problem. It is not unheard of, just really odds-defying.
Restoring from the backup really shouldn't cause a problem like this - if it wasn't happening on the old iPad. You reset the settings anyway and that should remove any old settings that could be causing the problem. I don't think that there is much more that you can do - except to restore the device as new - not from a backup.... If you really want to go through all of that.
If you decide to do that, make sure that you do make a backup first. See how it works after you restore as new. If that cures it, restore from your backup again. If the problem starts again, restore as new again and rather than restoring from a backup now, add your content back onto the iPad slowly and in bits and pieces - a few apps at a time, and see how it goes. If you can - copy all of your important files to your computer and import any important photos as well so that if you can't use the backup, you will still have the files and the photos on your computer that you can sync back at a later time.
But what I think I would really be tempted to do is - If the Apple Store is convenient to you, I would take the second iPad back and show them what is happening. If this is a new device - and I assume that it is if they swapped it out - I would want another one. See what they will do for you rather than trying to muck around with it looking for a fix.

I am searching this forum to find somebody that has noticed this weird behaviour. The closest I came so far is your post.
So let me explain a little easier... The problem I think you mean is:
When switching bewtween applications using CMD+TAB it does switch to the space an app is open BUT the app switched to is behind all the other windows on that space. Is that correct?
This problem is also bugging me alot because I am used to to switch fastly between apps and this just renders the whole process useless. The best workaround I found so far is to stop using spaces (or Mission Control) and keep all the apps in one space to prevent this from happening.
I really hope Apple aknowledges this bug very soon because this LION deal is a complete mess. Tons of bugs. No fixes.

Magic Mouse will not swipe from desktop to desktop.

I just downloaded Yosemite today and got all the updates. So I am completely up to date. My particular computer is an iMac 27" 3.4GHz i7 (2011). I don't know why but the Magic Mouse I use will not swipe from desktop to desktop within my iMac. Also, every application generally has a default desktop that it is assigned to unless you change it. So, I've had 4 or 5 instances tonight when Yosemite causes, on occasion, a "hang-up" when switching from one desktop to another when the system preference application was open. The glitch or "hang-up" presents itself by freezing when one desktop is switching to another desktop. The freeze occurs when the desktops begin switching from one to another. The desktops show a big black line between them, kind of like two images of film connected to each other. The two desktops continue to move a few inches to the left every 10 or 15 seconds, taking about 1 to 2 minutes for the two desktops to shift from one side of the screen to the other, finally ending up with the one desktop that shows the system preference window. Has anybody had this hang up before? Serious update needed. Also, my magic mouse doesn't seem to respond when I tap it for smart zoom. This needs to be fixed soon.

You probably already know this but just in case -
Desktop swipe is left or right with two fingers and
Smart zoom is a double-tap with one finger on the magic-mouse by the way (and double-tap with two fingers on a trackpad).
Do you have all the special gestures enabled in the System Preferences Mouse pane?

Ipad2 will not sync?

My ipad2 will not sync with itunes since I download itunes 10.5

If you still have an issue you may have to see about using the iTunes version (application) included with Snow Leopard 10.6 from the installer or an another one if available online, and see if that will install.
Sometimes you may have uninstall the bits left in your system by the earlier (or later) iTunes installers; as they all leave a trace and these can stop a different version of iTunes from being installed.

My imac and ipad2 will not connect to the internet with Windstream using an 2wire DSL modem.

Help my brand new imac and ipad2 will not connect to the internet with Windstream using an "2WIRE" DSL modem. Windstream tech service is useless. i can connect with the built in router through Ethernet or wireless, but still no connecting to internet, help! windstream said everything is working on their end, yea right. What i do know is that both the mac and ipad work at other places and can connect with wireless connected to the internet, so i know it's not the apple products.
these are brand new machines with lion.

There is a 2701HG-B, and a 2701HG-D. If not labelled on the modem, ask Windstream which one they presently supply or how to tell the difference.
By the way tell your wife it isn't that bad. At least you have an ethernet DSL modem. There were times where DSL modems had RJ-11, USB, and Ethernet, and all three were used to provide access. At least now only the craziest DSL providers still use those modems.

It sounds like you might need to contact Yahoo! if you aren't able to setup your email account as a new account after deleting it.

Perhaps the PDF files are corrupted.
Hit the command key and spacebar, a blue Spotlight in the upper right hand corner appears, now type Preview and press return on the Preview program.
Now you can try opening the PDF's from the file menu and see what's going on.
If they are corrupted, perhaps they are trojans from your Windows PC or gotten from a bad location online.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the possibly infected folder.

I have one website that will not let me open the emails within in it?

I am on a dating website Christianmingle.com Up until 3 days ago this site worked fine? All other sites within my internet are working and opening fine. Just this site will not let me open the internet information and emails within this site?
After a couple of attempts I can get into the site. This is one problem that I cannot open this site like it is suppose to. Then when try to open information within the site it fills the work bar to about 90% then it just keeps working and nothing opens?
I have tried the cookies, pop-up blocker, called the site for help and called Xfinity? They can do nothing? Maybe you can help me it has to be something simple?

- The next standard thing to do is to download/install a new app but you cant 'do that.
- Instead, try restoring from backup.

iTunes in Mac OS X Tiger is outdated. Open  > Software Update to install the latest iTunes version for Tiger.
If you need iTunes 10.7 or a newer version, you have to upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. First, check that your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 If it is, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After buying Snow Leopard, make a backup of your data, insert the DVD and upgrade to Snow Leopard. After upgrading, open  > Software Update, and install the latest Snow Leopard version. I also have this problem. I cannot open links from a discussion board I frequent nor can I open links from my email. Also after opening my email, I cannot go to any other sites except my home page. I can then go no where else.
When I close Firefox and try to reopen it, it does nothing! I have to bring up the Task Manager and end the Firefox process before I can get back in.
To the best of my knowledge, this problem started with the new update to Ver. 3.6.9. I am running Windows XP Media Center 2005
