My iPhone 3 shuts off at random, gets stuck on apple logo, then says there is no battery?

this happens to me all the time. Im getting the iphone 5 in a couple weeks but this drives me absolutely crazy. At random times, whether its 100% or 20% or anywhere in between, my phone shuts off at the most random times. (at least 20x a day.) when i plug it in, it stays on the apple logo for about 5 minutes, then either turns on for a few seconds to my homescreen, or turns to the "low battery sign." and turns off. then i have to wait 1/2 an hour before it turns on and finally stays on. it stays on if it is plugged into my MacbookAir or into the wall. It crashes when im using pingertext free (i dont have a sim card because its in my dads spare phone) and facebook, but crashes anyway. this is really getting old and i have some important people i can only contact throuhg my phone..it also doesnt show my messages or texts most of the time. please help what should i do?

Sounds like it's physically broken.  Make sure you're backing it up on a regular basis and keep your fingers crossed that it lasts till you get your new phone.

  • Iphone 4 shuts off at random?!

my iphone also won't open my apps when needed and when it does, the app closes. it also wont send imessages or text messages, wont show recent calls, isnt saving pictures and shuts off at random times.

I have the same problem here with my iPhone 4 on IOS5.
iPhone shuts down with plenty battery left according to battery status...
When I plug it in it turns back on withe the battery status showing from 42 to 70 %
Today my iPhone did go down at 70 % battery.
Needed to plug it in to start the iPhone again. Battery back at 70 %.
Unplugged immediately after startup and could use the iPhone till 42 % battery status.
iPhone shuts down again. It's driving me mad.
Already did perform a restore with IOS 5 and set up the iPhone as a new iPhone. No backups restored...
    No solution.
Did all the "tricks" to avoid battery drainage, but I don't see any significant deifference...
So far, I dont like IOS5...

  • Why does my ipod 4g constanlty get stuck on apple logo

Why does my ipod 4g constantly get stuck on apple logo

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Yesterday, I tried to power on my 3gs after restored, but it stuck on apple logo like 20 mins then it rebooted itself and the cycle has been going on that way. It's been 15 hours of hard trying the ways that i could researched on google. But nothing new happened. I tried to hold the buttons till the reboot cycle, and release sleep button when the phone was totally off, I kept holding Home and plug it into computer, but the itunes didn't recognize it and the apple logo went back and stuck on screen invoking me.

  • IPhone 3GS cannot charge and gets stuck at apple logo screen

Hi, I have an iPhone 3GS, and yesterday it ran out of charge.  I plugged it into my wall socket as normal, but all I got was the black screen with the apple logo, which disappeared after about 15 seconds.  I have tried to hold down the home and on/off key together; to try and restore it, but nothing happened.  I have tried to plug into my computer and open in iTunes, but iTunes does not find it.  The only thing it appears to do when it is plugged into anything, is show the apple logo on the screen and then switch off after about 15 seconds.  Anyone go any suggestions what I might be able to do?  Thank-You (PS I am not technically minded so no techno speak would be appreciated)

But it was working perfectly well until yesterday.
Everything works until the day it breaks...  Most electronics that fail don't give any warning.
I like the 3GS, so would like to be able to repair it, if I can?

  • Ipod touch 5th gen, gets stuck on apple logo.HELP!

I guess I will just start from the beginning. FIRST OF ALL I HAVE ALREADY TRIED RECOVERY AND RESETTING PLEASE DO NOT SAY THAT! My iPod touch 5th generation was dead and i left it dead for a day or so before recharging it, I just hadn't gotten around to it and left it in a bag from my trip. When i plugged it in it looked like it was going to turn on, but it just showed the usual apple logo and then shut off again. After letting it charge a while longer, i unplugged it and tried to turn it on, still nothing. I plugged it into my laptop, nothing. I tried a different charger, nothing helped. I even tried resetting it, where you hold both the home button and power button, each and every time i got the white apple logo, and then it shut off again. I kept reading the Apple forum and different things online and a common answer was to put it into recovery mode. Previously, Itunes would not recognize it, but when i held down the home button and connected it, it did and asked me if i wanted recover or update or whatever it asks. I did it, it took like an hour to finish and NOTHING happened. There was no change. I talked with an apple employee and she just gave me pretty much the same answer as everyone else. PLEASE HELP ME! IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO?

Try what  you have not already tried:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable

    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPhone 4 stuck on Apple logo, iTunes says locked with a passcode

I'd like to set my son up with my old iPhone 4 but after charging it from flat and starting it up, it froze on the Apple logo.
Plugged it into iTunes, and I get the message "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
Which would be fine, if it would finish starting up.
Holding down the power and home buttons together for up to a minute doesn't put it in DFU mode, and can't restore it from iTunes because of the 'locked with passcode' message.
I live a long way from the nearest Apple Store Genius Bar, so hoping I can find an answer here to save me the trip!
    Thanks for your help,
    - alan

    Hey Alan Jones1,
I know you said you attempted to put it into recovery mode, but go ahead and try again using the following directions:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
via: iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If that still doesn't work, you can try this other option:
If you are using Find My iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to restore your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode.
    All the best,
    David

  • Mac Pro gets stuck on Apple logo

I installed Lion last week (clean restore) and everything was running fine...  I left my mac for a little, came back and noticed on the top right of the mac by the time and spotlight the screen looked weird, like the screen was a different color, but it was just there. Then I realized the mac was also frozen.  I held the power button and when it restarted it got stuck on the Apple logo...
I've tried restarting in Safe Mode.  Held down the option key, tried using the Lion Recovery HD, a flash drive with Lion on it (that I used to install Lion with) and a Snow Leopard install disk.  They all get stuck on the Apple logo.  The weird thing is, my friend took out my HD from my Mac Pro and put it in his and it worked perfectly...  So I thought it was a hardware problem with my mac, but the thing is, when I hold down the option key and I load into Windows 7 off of my mac it works perfectly fine, so it seems it's not a hardware problem...
    Anyone get any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Zevie

Hardware can mean that you have something that Lion is allergic to.
Not that it prevents the machine from running 10.6 or Windows 7/8 even.
Don't repair a system with an older system. Or tool. Make sure that it is updated and compliant. Thinks like TechTool Pro 6 and DW all have to be tested, and updated. Disk Utility from 10.6.8 is probably not a good idea and does not understand the new drive partitioning. Use the Recovery Mode partition instead.
And wait. Unless you like to test a new OS or on the edge, where it bleeds.

  • Boot camp restart gets stuck on apple logo/prohibited logo/? folder help

    Hello,
I'm currently running OS X (lion) and I'm trying to install windows 7 via boot camp assistant. After creating a Win7 install disk via a bootable USB flash drive and creating my partition via the assistant. The computer restarts and goes into the load screen instead of the windows install process. It then flips between the Apple logo, Prohibited logo, and ? file not found folder. Could some one help me out and let me know whats going on. Thanks in advance!  (I would try to install it via CD/DVD but the drive doesn't work.)

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First of all, you can't install Windows from an USB drive on a Mac with the SuperDrive. To start on OS X, press Option key while the Mac is starting and select Macintosh HD. Finally, open Boot Camp Assistant to delete the Boot Camp volume and take the Mac to an Apple Store to get the SuperDrive repaired

  • Format with snow leopard install disk gets stuck at apple logo

Hi, I have a MacBook pro 17" which I want to format but have no install disks however I gt the mac os x snow leopard 10.6.3 disk from pc world today. I have been trying to format with that disk but every time it gets stuck at the apple logo, my current version is 10.6.6. Any help would be great

Does your machine meet [Snow Leopard system requirements|http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html]? What system was on it before, and why are you choosing to reinstall?
Does the disk you have obtained have a picture of a snow leopard on it, or is it gray? The latter will not work.
What model MBP? If it's very recent, the current retail SL disk may not work... only the disk that shipped with your machine will. Call Apple for replacements for a small fee.
