My iPhone 3G fell in a drink

I know, I know. When I upgraded to the 4, I gave my old 3G to my roommate. Well, he said it fell in his drink and "it could have been in there for up to an hour"! It's been in rice for 3 days and you can still see water in the screen. Anyone know how much it is to replace? I still want the 3G becuase I'll give it to my son as an ipod.

With that behavior you need to take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar for an out-of-warranty replacement. In the US that is $269 for the iPhone 5.

Accidental or wilful damage is not covered by Apple's standard or extended warranty. AppleCare + does cover this kind of damage for a small fee.
When taking the phone to Apple for repair Apple will not replace the faulty part. They replace the whole phone. However some stores may offer screen replacements.

FYI, if the phone was not originally sold in India, it can not be serviced in India. You will have to take it back to the country where it originated.

Double tap Home button and delete Camera app from multitask-list.

You can only get that phone replaced or serviced in Canada. So, either send it to a friend/relative in Canada & have them take it to an Apple store for you, or fly there yourself. You can't mail the phone to Apple.

I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.

Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. Take it to an Apple Store and see about getting an out of warranty replacement. I believe it will run you about $150.

No, you would have to send it to someone you know in the USA and have them take it to any AppleStore and do an out-of-warranty replacement for $199 USD. Apple will not accept a shipment from your and the warranty is not international.
You can take it to a 3rd party repair shop and have them open it and clean it. But you need to do it quicly saltwater will very quickly damage the components without that phone.

it mean that not all of the device have been damaged by the fluid
but it does not really mean that the screen will ever work again
when drying in rice make sure you don't
1 conceal it so the vapor can't escape or it will not dry enough
2 make sure to leave in on a heating source like a heated floor or radiator to speed up the proccess of the vaporising
