  • My iPhone 6 isn't charging?

I will plug my iPhone 6 to be charged and it doesn't charge. It has worked intermitently since i have purchased it.

If it's never worked properly, bring the phone and charger to an Apple store and ask them to check it out. It's under a one-year warranty.
You can try another cable and cleaning the lightning port with compressed air or a toothpick to see if debris is stuck in it.

  • My iphone 4 isn't charging, why?

My iPhone 4 fell out of my pocket the other day and hit the floor, as it has done many times.
I carried on as usual, and out it on charge that night. It charged.
Last night I put it on charge, apart from, it didn't actually charge. WHY!?
I've tried the wall plug in with 3 different cables and 2 different plugs, i've tried it on the dock, which still plays the music through it, but doesn't appear to charge, and ive tried it in the laptop which doesn't recognise it AT ALL!
To begin with, when I plugged it into the wall socket, it woudl say it was charging then go straight to 'this device is no supported'. It did that a few times, when i plugged it in and out, and now it just doesn't recognise it AT ALL.
    What's going on?
My iPhone is over a year old, but I've had it for 3 months, as it used to be my brothers, so I don't have warranty.
    How do I fix it?
Oh, i've also tried resetting it by holding the lock button and home button. Makes. No. Difference.
What's happening? What will Apple be able do, if anything?
CAN ANYONE HELP ME? Kinda freaking out here...

I had a very strange experience in the apple shop today. My sons iphone4 (11 months old) seems to have done a very similar thing & he has not dropped it. When we took it into the apple store the technician said the terminals had some oxide traces (rust) and said it must have been exposed to water and was not covered on guarantee. I said this was not accetable as the phone was not exposed to water but used normally. I asked for the manager and complained. A lady next to me said thats very strange as mine has done the same and I got the same answer. I suspect there is a design flaw in the materials/finish being used on the connector pins. I'd like to know if others have experienced the same as I suspect there are many of us.......!

  • My iphone isn't charging

My iphone isn't charging , i tough that the problem is coming from the cable or the adapter but i tried them with another iphone and they were working , i think the problem is from my iphone or the charging place, I cleaned that place and it worked but now its always connecting and disconnecting with a simple move

Try to restart the iPhone. If it still doesn't work, restore from backup or restore as new device. Have you tried cleaning the charge doc. Use a toothpick, dry toothbrush, etc to gently clean out the dust/debris form the doc connector.

My iphone 5 says its charging but it isn't. I have a Apple charger. The problem is sporadic.

    Hi gotwaxed,
If your iPhone is not charging while plugged into the wall adapter, then I'd like you to please follow the information outlined below to help resolve the issue.
    If the battery doesn’t charge
If the battery doesn’t charge, unplug your device and try these steps:
Look at the connector at the bottom of your device and make sure it’s free of debris.
If you're using a USB power adapter, make sure it's plugged in all the way and the power outlet is working. If you're connecting to a computer, make sure it's on and can charge your device. To charge an iPad, you might need to use a USB power adapter and plug into a power outlet.
Try a different USB cable, USB power adapter, or USB port.
If everything seems to be working, reconnect your device and wait for 30 minutes.
If your device still doesn’t charge, try to restart it while it's connected to power. If you can't restart, reset your device.
    Get more help
If your device still doesn't charge or you still see an alert after trying the steps above, contact Apple Support.

  • HT1476 My iphone isn't charging, what do I do?

My iphone isn't charging, what do I do?

Try a different apple charging cable, a different computer, and a different wall socket. Clean out your charging port with compressed air also. Reset your phone, hold the home and off button down until the apple symbol comes up. If none of this works , then you probably have a bad battery.

  • My iphone 5 won't charge :(

My iphone 5 won't charge with the cable I bought, I don't know if its because maybe it isn't an apple product? Can somone please help me! thank you

If you did buy a 3rd party product, that could be a reason. Can you check with an original Apple USB cable?
To ensure the best possible experience, Apple has created special compatibility requirements for accessory manufacturers. Products that are engineered and certified to be compatible have a "Made for" label on their package. To ensure compatibility when purchasing third-party accessories for use with your device, look for accessories that are authorized to use the "Made for" label associated with your device (see below).

  • My iPod touch 5th gen isn't charging and when I plug my working charger in that I've always used a message pops up that says "This accessory may not be supported". So can I send it in for a new one if I have a warranty?

For Christmas, my older sister got me a portable charger for my iPod. I'm not sure if it was capable with apple products, but it charged my iPod when I used it. My brother came upstairs and took my portable charger from me, so I went to go use my wall charger. The wall charger I have has always worked and it charges my mom's iPhone, so the problem I have isn't my charger. After I plugged my iPod in my charger, a message popped up saying "This accessory may not be supported". I was confused because this never has happened before, so I tried my portable charger after I got the message. The portable charger didn't charge my iPod anymore apparently after I tried my charger. All this happened the day after Christmas, so it's almost been a month without my iPod charging properly. My iPod does charge, but only when I plug it in halfway and am about to turn it all the way off. The only way I get it to charge is when I plug it in real fast as soon as I turn my iPod completely off. I've also restarted my iPod, cleaned out the charging area, asked people at stores that work with technology, and etc, so if someone could help me resolve this problem that would be legit because I use my iPod on a daily basis.

That message is usually due to a bad cable.

  • Optimizing iPhone battery life: Between charges and before replacement

FYI. An excellent iPhone battery care article by iPhoneAtlas.com:
Optimizing iPhone battery life: Between charges and before replacement
    http://www.iphoneatlas.com/2007/07/09/optimizing-iphone-battery-life-between-cha rges-and-before-replacement/

OK, I agree that is a completely false statement. The rest of the article is pretty good.
If you assume a linear decrease in battery charge for each full cycle (which it really isn't, but much easier to model in a spreadsheet). Then 80% of original charge after 400 full cycles is approximately 0.8% loss in battery charge per full charge cycle (again this is a simplification, stay with me). This means that after 400 cycles, you are at approximately 80% of your original total charge level. As stated by Apple.
So, extrapolating that out to EOL (end of life) which Apple assumes to be 50% battery charge, it would take approximately 1,000 full charge cycles for your battery to be EOL (according to Apple). It would actually be slightly less than that since it won't be a linear function.
For me, that's 2 to 4 years of use depending on whether or not I continue using the iPhone as much as I have this first full week.

  • My iphone 4 isn't recognized by my computer or itunes

my iphone 4 isn't recognized by my computer or itunes. when plugged in, nothing pops up. my phone does not begin charging or ask me anything. i know the plug is fine because it works in my wall and my computer makes a noise recognizing that something was plugged in.
i found an apple support link and followed every instruction (twice) to install and do all those things to my apple device manager. nothing has changed. i just want to sync with itunes! someone please help.

    Hello Lawrence,
    I do have AppleMobileDeviceService.exe running.
My USBs are plugging in straight into the laptop.  All 4 work.  Just today, I synced my iPod with multiple USB ports.  It works for the iPod, but the iPhone won't pop-up.  The iPhone does not appear in iTunes as a button anywhere.
I am unable to use another computer for this.  I can actually go into iTunes, add file to library, and add photos that way.  So, it's recognized by my computer.
This should have been seperated.  Basically, I don't have another computer accessible to me to back-up sync on iTunes with.
The last part means in iTunes, I can click "File > Add file to library" and the iPhone is shown as a camera icon.  I can click on it and have access to photos.  I can add those photos to the iTunes library.  That's about as far as the connectivity goes with the iPhone right now.

  • Iphone 4 will not charge and itunes does not recogise it at all.  When I plug it in to charge it says that it needs to be restored.

My iphone 4 will not charge when I plug it in, it will turn on but it says that it needs to be restored and will not do anything else.  When I plug it into itunes it isn't recognized at all.  I took it into the verizon store and they were not any help at all.  My phone isn't under warranty anymore so they don't care.  Please help, I had to go back to my old phone, a droid and I hate it so much.

its fixed!!  After posting my problem with the FROZEN ipod classic (2007) 80 gb a screen popped up with similar subjects that I did not find in my original search.  'Rich Fleming' in the community posted a suggestion to someone with a similar frozen issue and it WORKED when I tried it.
hold the 'menu' and the 'circle' buttons down at the same time, KEEP the pressed until the apple appears. and now it is working.  Hope this helps others.

  • My iphone 4 doesn't charge when pluged in to my car stereo

My iphone 4 will not charge when plugged into my car stereo. has the hard wire for it. It worked with my ipod but not the iphone, it say acc. not optimized?

    Which iPod model?
Some iPod models can be charged via firewire in addition to being charged via USB. If the car stereo connection charges via firwire, it won't work with the iPhone. And if the car stereo does not include the "made for iPhone" certifcation, it may work but it isn't optimized or fully compatible or not compatible at all with an iPhone. Being compatible with an iPod does not automatically equate to being compatible with an iPhone.
