My iphone 3gs crashes once or twice per week.

as i mentioned, my phone comes dead every week, despite wiz full battery life or on charge, it crashes or when i woke up in the morning, i find it off. i have restore it once and updated the software to 3.0.1 but it is still crashing weekly. this is very annoying if you are waiting for phone calls and then it shows its off. Anybody can advice me what to do? the phone is 3 weeks old. And already problems. Need help. Thanks.

yeah, definitely take it back to apple if a restore doesn't fix it. could be something wrong with the battery or a loose connection. they will probably send it in.

  • Since I updated to iCloud, Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 has no problems. What's wrong?

Since I updated to iCloud, (which may or may not be related) Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 and my old iMac has no problems. When there is no service a yellow warning triangle appears adjacent to the Inbox and Connection Doctor reports,"Trying to log into this MobileMe IMAP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct."  Since it does fetch Mail from time to time they cannot be wrong.... can they? Should I update to 10.7 and if so what does that entail?

You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:

  • HT201407 during a update of apple my iphone 3GS crashed an now the operating system wont load up..ive tried to reset the phone to the factory settings it took 4 hours an completed but my iphone still wont come on..what can i do to fix the problem? please

during a update of apple my iphone 3GS crashed an now the operating system wont load up..ive tried to reset the phone to the factory settings using itunes it took 4 hours and completed but my phone still wont come on..what can i do to fix the problem? please help #

In trying to include what information all that I could I should have specified I DON'T KNOW THAT IT WAS DEFINATELY JAILBROKEN when I took it to the apple store they told me there's no way for them to tell if it was jail broken or not. I'm only going by what ppl have told me COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE PHONE. With that said the only thing I know for sure is that the apple tech at the Genius Bar told me that someone took control of my root menu in February & I've had no control of my phone since. I asked him how to regain control & how he knew his exact words were "oh that is out of our scope of capabilities here at this level & you would need an apple engineer to fix it". I said ok then how do I get an apple eng then? He laughed & said you can't!!!! To which I was furious I came home & called apple requesting to speak w/the fraud dept to file a report they said we don't have a fraud dept!! So after a 45 mn phone call again I left w/no answers.
    @TJBUSMC1973-
I DON'T HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO SPEND HIRING AN ATTORNEY & Although I appreciate your suggestion I fail to how an attorney would be able to facilitate in any way since there's no suspect. I cannot prove that it's him doing it so I certainly can't pursue legal action w/no proof & no money. :'((
Again I thank you for your advice but I don't think that will help.
I was looking more for a TECHNICAL way to avoid this happening w/a new phone should I buy one or trying to get them out of my phone now! Such as installing some kind of software protection?? Someway to clear out the entire phone (other than factory reset which was done 10 x's w/no success, etc. if this person got in then there HAS TO BE A WAY OF GETTING HIM OUT, right????

  • Recently i upgrade my iphone 3gs to IOS5. currently , after a week my iphone keep on crashing

recently i upgraded my iphone 3gs to IOS5. currently , after a week my iphone keep on crashing and restarting.
    Please help me.

I have a iPhone 3GS and installed iOS5.  Since then, my phone crashes 2-3 times a day, it has a hard time find the cell networks (no 3G and says no network often), and eats up a fully charged battery overnight searching for connections.  Fixing my phone is now my number one use of my free time!  AT&T store says I should just upgrade my phone.  This a software issue!  I upgraded to iOS5.01 and it seems to be no different.
My wife had similar issues with her iPhone3G and iOS4.  We made 3 trips to the Apple Store to do a deep recovery to bring it back to life.  They told us it was a hardware issue and we needed to buy a new phone.  iOS4.1 fixed all the problems and the phone worked great.
I guess I am in for the same ride And will hope iOS5.1 fixes my issues.  Apple PLEASE HELP!!!!!

My N97 is restarting by himself once or twice per day, on an interval of 2-3 days, sometimes when I do something on it, sometimes when it stays on the desk, it is very annoying!
This thing it will fix if I go on service (Nokia service) and I reinstall the soft?
    Has anybody has this issue?
P.S. I have last firmweare on it (V12....)

  • Windows 7 (64 bit), iTunes 9 (64 bit), iPhone 3GS = CRASH!

I have just bought a brand new Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 (64bit), 500Gb of disk space, 6Gb RAM, multi-core processor etc etc. I've installed the 64bit version of iTunes and transferred over my iTunes library (about 35Gb worth).
When I connect my iPhone 3GS, iTunes sees it no problem and starts to update it (my playlists only copy about 10Gb of music over + some photos, videos and podcasts - iPhone has about 10Gb out of 32Gb free after sync). But iTunes then carries on displaying the message "Syncing iPhone..." in the top window and if I look at the performance monitor whilst this happens, the memory usage goes up, and up, and up steadily increasing until all 6Gb is used with 100% CPU usage, and the PC eventually runs out of resources and stalls/crashes, without the Sync ever completing.
If I reboot and repeat the process, cancelling the sync half way through, the CPU immediately comes down, and the memory too.
Am I doing something daft here? I've tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling, making sure I used the 64bit link from the iTunes download pages, but this happens every time.
Has anyone else seen this issue, or know what it is?
The PC is fully patched, has MS Security Essentials installed, nothing else is running at the time, and the iPhone is using the latest OS version.
    PLEASE HELP!!

    Hello again.
Yes, I've removed all the Sony Bloatware, including all the audio and video scanning processes.
When I look at the processes running when the problem is occuring, it is iTunes.exe taking up all the CPU and memory. Very little else appears to be affecting things.
You're probably familiar with the sequence of events when syncing - iphone is detected (pop up message from Windows about transferring photos), syncs music and photos and videos and apps, then returns to generic "Syncing Pete's iPhone 3GS" message, (usually the last thing before it says "Sync complete" and then sits there - this is when the processor goes to max and RAM steadily increases.
I've checked the Sony website and downloaded all updates and installed.
Does anyone know what iTunes is doing in this last bit of the Sync process?

  • My iphone 3GS crashed after iOS4.0.2

    Hi,
I installed iOS4.0.2 last week. My phone crashed after that and not coming up. So I tried to restore from itunes, my iphone is at recovery mode and didn't started after that. Even now my iPhone 3GS is not displayed in iTunes.
I checked USB port; reinstall iTunes etc. But my phone is not coming up. It is showing only one screen ( connect to iTunes) and iTunes is not showing any sign of iPhone.
Suggest how can I restore my iPhone 3GS.

It sounds as if you had a similar problem to me.
Does iTunes try to reset and restore your iphone and you get an error message 1604?
I tried everything that was suggest by Apple, and then someone on here said try a different computer and it worked. So if you can access a different computer it's worth a try.

  • IPhone 3GS crashed, What can I do?

First of, yes I know, I still have an iPhone 3GS!!!!
Anyway, today I just recently updated it to IOS 6(Which I love the new layout). After a few hours of using it, I turned on my music and started temple run. It crashed! I've played temple run and listened to music, it ran fine.
And so now, it just shuts off, keeps on doing. It'll sit on the black screen with the Apple Logo for the longest time, then it'll go black and go back to the logo and so on. It made it to my home screen CRASHED AGAIN and I'm back to the apple logo for a  bit, black screen apple.
All it does is just flash me the logo turns off and so on!
This is the SECOND TIME I've had an problem with the phone!(It's a new one they gave me after my first problem). I'm tired of the problems, and it's starting to leave a bad taste!

    Hello,
I'd strongly recommend a restore, from scratch for the phone. Don't restore from backup, do a fresh restore. The problem should go away then, if the cause is from software corruption. Let me know how it goes, and if the problem still persists, let us know!
    Thanks,

    Hi Sarah,
Is the PC showing a blue screen after connecting the iPhone? If it does the information in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502 may help.
Try updating any Logitech QuickCam/Webcams, Lexmark scanners, or built-in media card readers that are attached or built into your PC.

  • IPod function on iPhone 3GS crashing since music purchase

    Hi,
I have updated my iPhone 3GS with OS4 and after purchasing a new song in the iStore, the iPod function no longer works.
When selecting the iPod app, the screen opens and then shuts down about two seconds later.
I can no longer access my iTunes, please help! Thanks

I am having exactly the same problem, tried to buy song through Itunes at weekend, only for it to fail due to poor network coverage. Later try ipod function on iphone this week and seemingly it just crashes every time. Have reset the iphone 50+ times probably now. Very frustrating....

  • My iPhone 3GS crashes every month -- two trips to Apple store

I just completed my second trip to an Apple retail store in the last month. Both times I walked in with a crashed iPhone 3GS that they insisted was fine and needs an operating system upgrade or back-up. The retail store genius today said she has to reinstall and back-up her iPhone 3GS every 2-3 months. My original iPhone, which my fiancee now uses, works perfectly and has never crashed or needed a back-up.
I travel a lot and I'm not always near my computer for back-ups to my iTunes account. I think the iPhone 3GS is faulty. I'm not sure if it's an operating system or battery problem but the two times I've brought it to an Apple store, more than one employee insisted the phone is fine and that I hadn't charged it enough or I need to back it up or re-install the operating system.
I'm so frustrated with this device that I'll recommend to others to wait for the next version of the iPhone or buy another phone.
Is this a common problem? The Apple Store employee indicated it's a common problem which reminds me of the Xbox 360 red rings of death problems, which has happened to every unit of every person I know.
