My iPhone 3GS gets warm and runs out of battery.
No change if I reboot the phone. The only thing that works is to reinstall the phone in iTunes, but the problem soon comes back.

If you Restored from Backup... Then there may be Corruption in the Backup... That being the case, the Next Step is to Restore as New...

you should avoid keeping it in extreme temperatures, use it as little as possible, and avoid overcharging which means that you should unplug your iphone as soon as it hits 100% battery

If you have Time Machine enabled, then those are Time Machine snapshots. They will be deleted automatically if the space is needed. You can also do this:

Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder and enter or paste the appropriate command line. Press RETURN and enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed. Press RETURN again.
To turn them ON: sudo tmutil enablelocal
To turn them OFF: sudo tmutil disablelocal
Note that turning them OFF will also delete all existing snapshots.

It's not worry-some if it's just generally warm. While browsing, or playing music, or doing anything, you should notice a slight temperature increase.
You have to remember that the iPhone 4 is like a computer, with similar parts, etc. When a computer processes, the CPU temperature usually increases due to increased stress. Similar thing for the iPhone.
Once again though, if it gets to the point of discomfort, or even burning, this is NOT a normal experience for the phone. -
I reduced most of the notations and made a hardware reset already. Still the power dropped down very quickly.

I resolved the problem. It is the interaction between MobilMe-Mail-account an iCloud. You have to erase the mobilme Mail-account on all devices after having transferred all data to icloud and desable all syncs (ical, bookmarks,etc.) exclude Mail in other accounts.
I did so and the iPhone battery-life acts as before having updated.

IPhone 4S shuts down without running out of battery
I'm using my iPhone 4S for exactly 10 months now, restored it once (as a new device).
Lately it's shutting itself off occasionnaly: Twice when it had 25% battery, and today it did it again when 45%... Showing me the red dead battery sign when I try to turn it on immediately. It goes back to normal after 10 to 15 minutes.
It's pretty annoying. Is that a common issue? Is there anyone who noticed the same situtation?Hi!

I finally got my iPhone replaced with a new one at the Apple Store in Geneva. Unlike Apple's online support, geniuses do a great job helping and solving the issue.
I'll have small a question for you: You're saying you encountered this battery 3times (must be exhausting), and they replaced it each time, what do you do about the 1 year varranty? When they replaced my iPhone they said it doesn't come with a fresh full 1year international varranty. Did you buy extra varranty time?
Because mine expires next month, I really should buy a pack right?

after apple released the 8.1.2 software update my iphone 5s is getting hot and freezing.. sometimes when trying to call someone it wont show the phone function. while the call is being made so there's no way to hangup the phone call

I dropped my iPhone 4 in the sink where it was submerged in water for not even 2 seconds I took it out and put it in a warm room by the radiator and most of it works but no sound and battery length is short and runs out quickly. Any ideals on how to help?

my Iphone 5s was working perfectly before downloading the IOS 8.0.1 and later IOS 8.0.2. When my Iphone run out of battery, I connected it to Itunes, however the phone never turned on, and kept trying to sync, however got an itunes failure message.

My ATT Iphone 3GS keeps freezing and shutting down, now won't turn on at all. tried to do an update and restore but it froze in restore at about 20% done, waited 5hrs for it to go, it didn't. Not sure what to do or where to go (ATT or Apple) to get help, how much it could cost? HELP PLEASE!

Hey guys. My IPhone 3GS is unlocked and i went to update the software and it said that an unknown error has occurred and said it needed to be restored to connect with Itunes. When i got to restore it, it gets about 3/4 of the way done, says an unknown error has occured(1015). I have no clue what to do and all and any help would be amazing.

I dropped my iphone 3gs in water and grabbed it immediately out. It gave me a charger not supported sign every minute or two. I decided to turn it off for the night and the next morning it worked fine and only the bottom sensor was triggered. Why does it still work and how long will it last?
Water in itself will not kill electronic components if you let it dry out. Your first reaction to turn it off was a good one but you could have waited even longer.
It also depends what's on your water that will stay after the water itself had dried; like salt. Anything that iseither acid or conductor left on the circuit board will reduce the life of the board. Given said this, no one could state how long your iPhone will work since no one will know for sure where the water had time to infiltrate before you removed your device and no one what's may left there.
Consider yourself lucky. I don't understand however what you mean by a sensor triggered.
