  • HT4061 Hi have iphone 4 has been disabled says to connect to itunes when I do that it says enter passcode on phone but it won't let me any ideas

Hi have iphone 4 has been disabled says to connect to itunes when I do that it says enter passcode on phone but phone won't let me do that

    Hey drcajkm,
Thanks for the question. The following article provides some solutions if you are having issues with passcode lock:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
    5. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • My iPhone 3GS has died and won't restore with iTunes

My iPhone 3GS has switched off and won't turn back on.  I can't restore it by pushing home button and the on/off button as the on/off button has never worked.  I've plugged it into iTunes but with no luck.  Any suggestions please?

See Here for  >  Frozen or unresponsive iPhone
    Try this First...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

  • IPhone3G got stuck on connect to iTunes screen while doing upgrade iOS 4.2

Right after my iTunes 10.1 downloaded the iOS 4.2, it automatically started installing and sync-ing to my phone as usual.
It restarted itself, apple logo came out and ...
    1. Stuck on "connect to itunes" screen eventough it was connected for the whole time. Unplugged it and plugged it back in, still got the same screen.
    2. Neither my PC or itunes recognize it at all.
    3. Unable to do soft reset but hard reset is ok. When i turn it on, the same screen comes out after the apple logo and got stuck until it turns itself off in about 30 sec.
    3. Tried to connect it to the usb/itunes many different ways when the "connect to itunes" screen is on, but still got the same result.
    4. Tried to do factory reset by holding the home button and connect it to the usb until the itunes recognize it, but still no luck (u can be sure on that it was properly done since it's not the first time i'm doing it).
FYI: the phone has never been serviced or customized.
Need some help ASAP here ppl. Please!

I'm having the same problem too. I've been trouble shooting it based off advice from Apple's website and other people's information but so far nothing has worked. When I turn it on, it says connect to iTunes. I do. When I can get iTunes to recognize the iPhone is plugged in (which I seem to be able to only do when I stop and restart the Apple Mobile Device service), it says the phone is in recovery mode and has to be restored. I go through the process and so far it always stops on the "preparing iPhone for restore" process. Then I get the following error message ... the iPhone "iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1604). I seem to keep getting the 1604 and I haven't found a workable resolution yet for it.
If anyone could help, I would be so appreciative.

  • Cannot install IPhone 4 USB Driver, Phone stuck in "Connect to iTunes" mode

    Hi.
I have the new Iphone 4 - for 2 days, and i can't install the Iphone 4 USB drivers. I tested the cable, the OS.. everything and now after reset i can't use my phone since its stuck in connect to Itunes mode.
Every time i try to connect the USB, Windows recognize it as "unknown device" with (Code 43). If i try manually to select the Driver from common/apple/drivers the error is (Code 10).
Tested the 2G and seems its connected without any problem and windows recognized the phone, but its not recognizing my Iphone 4 (tested on 2- Windows 7 OS), found some topic that Reset can help such issues, and now im stuck with Phone that have only emergency calls.
Using latest iTunes , and ver 4.0.2
    Please help!!!!

Try in order one at a time:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Download the apps on the computer and then sync the iPod to the computer.
    - Retore the iPod from backup

  • Upgrading iPhone 4S to iOS 7 - stuck on Connect to iTunes

I've been at this for full 6 hours and still not setup.
Here's what I'm up to. Any comments or advice would be appreciated!
Updated Mac OS software, then updated iTunes software, then connected my iPhone 4S (with old iOS) to iTunes - updated all music, apps, etc. Did a full backup of the iPhone. Then initiated install of iOS 7.
Seemed to go well -- took a very long time. New screen came up on phone. I swiped Home page, selected my language and wifi, selected Location Services "On", then Connected to iTunes. Then nothing. Just sat there. I waited. Nothing.
Looked up problems on Communities and decided to try Restore. Backed up again (maybe a mistake?)...
Did a full Factory reset Restore. When that was finished, I selected Setup from Backup (not Setup new iPhone). Window popped up that I needed to turn off Find my Phone on iCloud.
Figured out how to sign in to iCloud and there was no On/Off selection -- so I decided to Remove iPhone from my account. Restarted computer, iPhone. Signed into iCloud again and no iPhone found. (good?).
Still unable to Setup from Backup - same message that I need to turn off Find my iPhone on iCloud. So decided to do a full factory reset Restore again and repeat Setup from Backup.
It's now copying all items from Backup for the second time. If same as last time, it will take over an hour.
While I'm waiting, any ideas of what I'm doing wrong or what to do differently?

An update - it was just taking too long to copy all the data again to the phone so I stopped the copy. Then I was able to complete the setup of the phone and most of the data was there -- just not the music I had selected. Not a problem, at least I can make calls.
Next step will be to update the phone again (when I've sufficiently recovered from my annoyance) and add the music I want.
Otherwise, I'm okay with the interface. No big problems.

  • Have iphone 3gs has now got a blank white screen

done the various hard reboots ect done the restore in itunes still white screen all connections in phone are ok so whats the proplem thinking of upgrading but this seems a common fault so not happy especially after just forking out for a macbook

David.  Thank you very much.   The problem was not with the canvas but rather the Viewer.  But the solution was the same.  Somehow, the Viewer window was re-set to Alpha.  I changed it back to RGB.... and the picture is back.   These issues are often very simple.... but they can drive you bats if you don't know the answer.   Very grateful.  Tim

  • My iphone 3gs has been disabled i've been onto itunes and restored the device but there is no change any ideas on what i could have done wrong?

about 6 months ago i was trying to unlock my phone. my passcode for everything has always been the same 4 digits. i unlocked the phone twice in the space of 10 minutes to reply to text messages by the time id checked my phone again my passcode no longer worked. frustrated i tried the passcode over again unfortunately my younger sister got a hold of my phone and further locked me out. i purchased another phone and now have come across the old phone, i need to get the pictures off the disabled iphone3gs of mine. these photos are a must! i dont want anything else off the phone just the photos. unsure of what to do now as restoring the phone hasnt worked either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have an iTunes backup that includes the photos you may be able to extract them from the backup using a 3rd party utility such as http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/
