My iPhone 3Gs is stuck in Recovery Mode. My phone has never been jailbroken. What can I do to get it out of the Recovery Mode loop?

My iPhone 3Gs went into Recovery Mode yesterday when I got home. When I plug it into my computer iTunes opens and gives me this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I click the "Restore iPhone" button and wait while iTunes reinstalls the software on the iPhone. As soon as the install is done, I get the same message again "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I'm stuck in a Recovery Mode loop. How do I get out?
This iPhone has never been jailbroken. After a litte research on line I saw some people got stuck in Recovery Mode after a jailbreak, but this is not the case here. Please help.

  • My iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode. i have tried to restore using itunes but it ends with a message saying there was an error and couldnt be restored

hi  desperately need help. my iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode... when i try and do the restore via itunes it goes through the motions but when it gets to the end it tells me there was an error and it couldnt be restored...  originally it was an ex contract phone that i had opened to orange from vodafone.. it was fine until i tried to do the ios 6 update

There is a way to get it recovered from the so called DFU mode. Try to restart the phone while holding the home and power button at the same time. Then try to connect it to iTunes and do the same again. If you try that again till it works you should be able to use your iPhone as before.

  • My iphone 3gs is stuck at recovery mode while updating software 4.3.3

my iphone 3gs is stuck at recovery mode while updating software 4.3.3 and even itunes is not responding . and i m using newest software of itunes on mac. please help.

If you followed all of the steps within that article then it's almost always a hardware issue. Reason being is that if you attempted restoring the iPhone from another computer (as the article informs you to), and you are still stuck in recovery mode, it proves that it is not a problem with the iTunes installation on your computer.

Is the iPhone recognizing your taps?
If it recognizes taps and is showing the disabled message, you'll have to restore the iPhone with the computer it was last synced with or restored as new from another computer.
If it doesn't recognize the taps, it sounds like you need to send it back in for service.

I can not open the iPhone seems to be my one of my kids has changed my password What can I do?

You will need to try to restore your iPhone (preferably from the same computer that you most recently synced to).
    Read this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If you can't do the restore then you will need to try Recovery Mode.

    Follow the instructions very carefully.

  • HT1766 My iPhone and my computer both tell me I have never backed up my iPhone to iCloud, when I have numerous times.  I get this message:  Your Phone has never been backed up to iCloud.  Today at 3:11pm. Even after I run 'backup now'

I have recently been experiencing problems with my iPhone and iCloud backup.  My iPhone tells me I have not backed it up to iCloud in over 4 weeks, when in actually it was 2 days ago.  So I plug my phone into my laptop and click - 'Back up to iCloud'. It runs and when complete, it tells me 'Your iPhone has never been backed up to iCloud.'  Even I after I have just completed the function.
Can someone help shed light on what the problem is?

To backup to iCloud, you actually backup on your phone, not your computer. To backup to iCloud, you MUST be connected to wifi. While on wifi, go to Settings> iCloud (sign into iCloud if you haven't yet)> Sorage & Backup> Backup Now. You get 5GB of complimentary iCloud storage. For most people, that's enough. iCloud backup stores app data (game progress, login, etc), contacts, calendars, notes, and photos. The apps themselves and your music can be retrieved in the iTunes and app stores for free again by going to the purchased area.
    Hope this helps!

  • Iphone 3GS is stuck in recovery mode? Please help!

Hi, I have an iPhone 3GS and my phone is currently stuck in recovery mode after trying to update iOS 4.1 to iOS 5.01.
When i connect my phone to itunes, i click on "Restore" and iTunes then tells me it will restore to the latest version (5.01). After this version has downloaded it processes the file but then does nothing and does not attempt to install the file. I have then tried it again (6 or 7) times and exactly the same thing happens each time.
I have tried to uninstall itunes and reinstall itunes and tried again and the same thing happened. For some reason itunes will not install or even commence the installment of version 5.01.
    Please help???

  • IPhone 3GS is stuck in recovery mode after update

I just synced my iPhone to my computer and installed the newest iPhone update using iTunes. After the sync/update was finished (all but my photos because for some reason iTunes has never backed up my photos from my phone) I was prompted to restart my computer only there was an error when my computer was booting back up. Now my phone has the "connect to iTunes" screen and when I connect it says that it is in recovery mode. In order to recover it says that I will lose all my media files. Is there any way to get my phone working again WITHOUT losing all of my information?
    Thanks

Try holding the button on top of the phone at the same time pressing the home key on the front. Keep both depressed for about 7 seconds.
This should reboot the device and retain any info you have. Hope it works for you, good luck.
