My iPhone 3GS is stuck on the start page (apple logo with frozen ring)

My iPhone 3Gs doesn't want to start, it is stuck at the apple logo.
I've already done a recovery but it failed 2 times and it's still frozen.
The device is recognize by iTunes but without status, and i can't access to the configuration of the iPhone...
Thanks.

You might have to but your phone in DFU mode if recovery doesn't work.
Just google iphone in DFU mode.

i need help to activate my iphone 5s. am stuck on the activation page. can someone help with with the icloud activation bypass? how do i even go about it?

You must put in the required information. If you do not have it, you must get it from the original owner of the phone. If you have forgotten your iCloud password, you can reset it at:
    https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid
There is no such thing as an activation "bypass". Activation Lock is a security feature. It wouldn't be that secure is you could bypass it, wouldn't it?

  • Mac OS X 10.5 stuck on grey start up apple logo

Ok so here's the whole story.
First, I was warned for not having enough free space. Therefore, I decided to delete large files. I went on Finder then Command+F to search files by size greater than 1 GB. So, it showed all the files that I was looking for. I simply selected all and drag them all in the trash. Then after that, I decided to empty the trash but I remember it saying that some files can't be removed. So, what I did was open the internet to search how to solve that but it won't open.. No other files or anything can be opened from then on. I know it was a bad mistake to not check the files that I was deleting. I didn't know it was that important. I think the files that I moved in trash are programs that would let me open installed things. They're all still in trash last I checked. I even tried switching accounts but it won't budge out from my account. So I turned off the macbook. I rebooted it up and now I always end up with the gray start up apple logo with the spinning stuff below it which is spinning forever. I made some research how to be able to solve this up. I even tried to insert the installation CD at start up but nothing loads. I waited for 20 mins and more. No changes. I'm still stuck in the apple screen logo. Now I have another problem, I can't eject and take out the installation CD. I pressed the eject button on keyboard but nothing happens.
    So I got 3 questions...
    1. How am I able to eject the CD out from the macbook?
    2. How can I change everything back to normal?
    3. How can I put all the files in trash to their old locations?
    Thanks for your time!

    Hello Edward
Follow the prompts on your iPhone and you will get either at your home screen like normal or get to a point of restoring from back up. The article below will give step by step for restoring from back up.

  • My iphone 3gs is stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen!

I just got my iphone 3gs yesterday. The guy at the AT&t store told me to update it. Yesterday it didnt work, but today it did. I followed all the directions i've got it set up to the wifi. When it came to the "Set up iPhone" screen i selected itunes backup. I had it backed up and everything already on my computer. The next screen was the connect to iTunes screen. I plugged it in and it synced and i could see the little sync icon on the bar at the top of my phone. It won't let me off the screen now. I've tried plugging it in almost 10 times and it still wont let me off the screen. I would like to not have to set it up as a new iPhone if possible. Any suggestions?

Nevermind. i reset it. Thanks a lot people.

  • My macbook pro is frozen - does not turned on - stuck on the opening screen (apple logo). thoughts?

any ideas how to get it going?

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
    a. Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in the support article linked below, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
How to back up and restore your files
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode by holding down the key combination command-T at the startup chime. Connect the two Macs with a FireWire or Thunderbolt cable. The internal drive of the machine running in target mode will mount as an external drive on the other machine. Copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
How to use and troubleshoot FireWire target disk mode
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
Before reconnecting an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
    Step 3
Boot in safe mode.* The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Post for further instructions.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is damaged and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to step 5.
If you can boot and log in now, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.) If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 4
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM and PRAM.
    Step 5
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see above for instructions.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it produces. Look for the line "Permissions repaired successfully" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 6
Boot into Recovery again. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with networks that require any kind of authentication other than a WPA or WPA2 Personal password.
    Step 7
Repeat step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a backup.
    Step 8
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • Dropped my iphone in water, it goes on, but shows the apple logo with text and goes out again, what to do?

So, I dropped my iphone into a river and picked it up very quickly, turned it out and put it in rice, after some hours I saw it was on with a blueish screen so I turned it off again and put it back in the rice, then after 6 hours in total from when it fell in the water I charge it and see the start up apple logo but then small text appears in the upper corner and it goes out again, this happened now twice, what is this and what to do?

Try the method of putting it in a bowl of rice. If the issue remains then you would need a replacement.
If you have AppleCare+ then you could get it replaced with one of your 2 incidents.
If you do not have ApplCare+ you would get a replacement as an Out of Warranty Service due to accidental damage. Now based on your country/region you could either get a replacement through postage or at an Apple Retail Store. Follow the link below for a pricing:
    http://www.apple.com/support/service/
    - select iphone
    - select your country
    - select warranty and service pricing
Choose the last option and it will give you a price based on your country and iPhone. Remember the cost shown includes a postage fee so look below the prices and how much the postage fee is as this would not be included in the cost if the replacement was done at a store.
    Hope this helps
