Try DFU Mode Restore. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power button, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes.

i am trying to download snow leopard, but with around 46 mins to go, a message appears saying, my coup is going to restart,it does but with just the apple logo,and white screen, nothing else,can anybody help? jib.
I think we need more clarification.
What do you mean by "download"? Only updates are available as downloads, the System software has to be installed from a DVD. -

I followed the instructions in those 2 articles. Still not able to see the device in ITunes. I reinstalled the latest iTunes and all updates to my iMac (Mac OSX ver 10.6.8). I tried 3 different USB Cables in different USB ports. Rebooting both the Iphone and IMac. Still nothing seems to be working. I searched the discussion boards and I see other people with the same problem but they seem to run into the same problems finding a solution. I dont understand what happened because this was working properly up until 2 days ago. Do you have any more suggestions?

If there is something wrong with it, they would offer you an out of warranty replacement, a 3GS just like you have. You could purchase another device if you want. Some Apple stores will offer a gift card when you turn in a device, but I do not know how much that would be on the 3GS. Carriers also offer subsidies, depending on where you are located, when you sign contracts. Many ways to get new or like new devices.

My iphone 4 is stuck on blinking the apple unless it is plugged into the wall...
my phone died and when I went to plug it in it would only flash the start up apple screen...when I plug the phone into the wall it comes up saying I need to reactivate, the screen says to connect to itunes but as soon as I unplug the phone it dies and when I plug it into the computer the reactivate screen doesn't come back...it still just flashes the apple logo....I dropped it in the toilet about 3 months ago and have had no problems at all...this morning it was very warm and had a warning saying it was too warm but worked fine all day afterward!!! HELP!!!!
Yes. Plug it into your computer and restore it. Once it's in recovery mode, that's your only option.

You will be able to get your mail on the PowerBook. The calendars (iCal) will not sync; any events added to iPad and/or iPhone will not sync with the Mac but will sync with each other (that is: the mobile devices which are on iCloud). My MacBook Pro (Lion) and iPad2 (iOS5) sync fine; I still get my Mail on iBook G4, MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard) and iMac (Snow Leopard).

I used my work email on my personal iphone 4s to set up an icloud account and it will not let me use this email as the Apple ID on my new iphone. As it is a work phone I need to use this email address as my Apple ID. How do I do this?
when you open the app store scroll down to the bottom it will display the apple id currently in use, change it to your normal apple id email

I tried to update the software of my iphone 3gs while charging with my Macbook Pro. While the phone was restarting after installation, in the setting up my phone menu, it stops midway with a message in itunes on the laptop that there is no simcard.
Then put a SIM in. You cannot activate an iPhone without a compatible Sim.
If your iPhone was hacked/jailbroken the update restore the lock.
