My iPhone 3GS just turned off and then when it started to turn on all these words came up. what do i do now?

I had just woken up and looked at my ipone i answered a few texts and after i did that it just went black then the apple sign came up and it started to turn on after about 5 seconds of the apple sign all these words came up like rows of sofware information but all over it says panic and on the bottom in brigter bold letters it says panic: We are hanging here...550 far: 0x i have tried plugging my iphone into iTunes but it isnt connected i dont know what to do

Plug it into the charger that came with the iPhone and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Leave it plugged in for 20 minutes. Then while still plugged in reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not powering on. I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

I had an issue where I had to wipe my mac as well. What you have to do to format the hard drive and reinstall is this:
Restart the computer while holding down the option key. Choose the recovery disc. Find the main hard disc and hit format. Then you can reinstall Lion via the internet, it takes a while though, my computer took 5 hours or so.
For your first question, if you got the family version of office, I believe you have 3 computers you can authorize it on. If you are not sure, look it up in the apple store.
For the second: Time machine would probably be your best option, but I would reccomend restoring from a backup before you were having problems, and restore that one (put new files you need on another external or a digital-online storeage site such as dropbox.) To restore a backup, restart your computer and hold command+R and select "Restore from Time Machine Backup" (for more information go here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427 )

Okay, so last night I was using my phone and the battery got to about 8% last time I checked. Then I put it in my pocket and a little while later I tried to turn it on with the home button (because my lock button has somehow gotten jammed into the phone) but nothing happened. It didn't even show the charge battery sign or anything. So I plugged it up, and still nothing has worked. Today, it is still messed up and won't turn on and it's really frustrating me. My mom told me that I don't have insurance on my phone and it has been jailbroken before. Is there anything I can do for it? My 2 year contract with Verizon is up on August 12th. Can I just take it to them and have them look at it and replace it for free?

Yesterday i set down my iphone 3gs down on my counter for at least 5 minutes and came back and it was shut off. i tried recharging it, holding down both home and sleep keys, and pluging into my mac computer to try to restart it but its NOT working....it has been 24 hours since i last used it. Any known reason/fix for iphone 3gs random shut off and reboot? HELP

I cant use it to do anything without it turning off. The screen goes black and then apple logo appears for 30 sec. It finally comes back on but repeats the problem over and over. I did a restore from a back up I did the first week I got the phone but problem still exist. I have also noticed the battery does not seem to charge correctly now that this has started. This problem started a month ago but stopped for a week or two but has returned and gotten worse. Any information about this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
