  • The first run page keeps opening every time I open my home page, how do I turn it off?

When I first downloaded FF 4 on my netbook I got the first run, welcome to FF 4 screen. As usual. But it keeps coming back. Every time I open FF it opens the welcome screen in the first tab and in the second tab is my home screen.
If FF is already open and I want to open my home screen in another tab, it simultaneously the welcome screen in one tab and my home screen in another.
I will not upgrade the rest of my machines to either FF4 or 5 until this is fixed.

A couple of possible causes, you have multiple home pages set, or the preferences file can not be updated. For details on both of those, see [[Firefox has just updated tab shows each time you start Firefox]].

  • HT4623 my iPhone 5 keeps freezing every time i use the device. any suggestions ?

       .

Delete background apps from memory and then Reset. Press the home button twice quickly, in the new row of icons at the bottom of the screen, touch and hold on an icon. When the Red Minus Signs appear, tap them all. When done Reset, hold both the home and power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off" let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

  • Nano crashing every time I push center button

I've been having problems with my 4 GB nano for a couple weeks now. Initially, it would just freeze occasionally and I'd have to restart it by holding the center button and menu. The it began freezing more and more. Despite this I could still usually get tracks to play with a little patience and a few reboots. Then the nano started crashing inexplicably. I'd push a button to switch tracks or go to a menu and it would just restart. Now it seems to have gotten so bad I can even access the music menu. Every time I press the center button the ipod reboots. I can listen to music if I press play after reboot, but it just plays the tracklist which is 500+ songs. Needless to say, I'm a little upset that I've only had my nano for a few months and its already seemingly worthless. Maybe I need to wipe the flash drive and reinstall the firmware, but this would be annoying and what's to keep this from happening again? Could this be a hardware issue? I'd appreciate any information or advice anyone can provide. Thanks.

Thanks to inquisitive users on other threads, the solution to this problem is really quite simple. You don't have to reset or restore (format) your iPod. Just do one of the following things:
    1) The root of the problem is empty Podcast folders. When you put a podcast on your iPod, in goes into a folder that will contain that particular edition and future editions. When you delete the mp3 file of the edition, you don't necessarily delete the containing folder, and that causes accessing the "Music" folder with the center button to crash.
Solution: Simply delete the empty iPod folders through iTunes.
    2) Or, if you're on the road, or don't want to delete the empty folders, you can change settings on your iPod that won't cause this problem. Go to the main screen > settings > main menu. Scroll to "Music" (the first thing in the main menu folder) and hit the center button to turn it off. It should now say "off". Then, turn on (by scrolling with the click wheel to each thing and hitting the center button) "artists", "genre", "podcasts", albums" or whatever your heart desires. Now, when you turn on your ipod, instead of the first folder being "music", it will be whatever folders you turned on, and selecting these items with the center should NOT cause your iPod to restart.
Hope this helps. It sure helped me.

  • IPhone requires complete reset every time I update Apps

I am about to pull my hair out! I am running the most current software on my iPhone 3G. I was replacing an older iPhone... so originally, I transferred all my old information over to my new phone. After about 3 complete resets, I decided maybe something was wrong with my info... so I started over with a new one.
I am not updating through the App Store on the phone (I've heard that can cause some problems). It seems like almost everytime I install an App update on my phone, when it syncs, it locks up completely. I have to hold down both buttons and do a complete restore. Any ideas about what may be causing this? I do have about 20 programs installed on it... but doesn't everybody?!
Maybe it's a hardware problem... I just don't know where to begin.

You are NOT alone. I have gotten to the point where I am just not going to install any apps until all of these issues are fixed - not just some of them (are you actually listening, Apple?) I have spent hours and hours of doing whatever I can to make this work and it's just not possible the way this 2.0 software performs. It's funny (but not) that a few days ago I decided I would just not sync/update/add/delete any apps. I figured that way, things might be somewhat okay. So I went on a flight for work and, of course, you have to shut your phone down during a flight. After the flight, I turn my phone back on again and every 3rd party app crashes immediately after launch and ALL of my music and videos are gone! What the?!
Ultimately, I had to still do the full restore. I tried an uninstall/reinstall with a couple of them but nothing worked except for the full restore. I've spent a lot of $$ on some great apps but I can't use them because of what the 2.0 software does. I know the developers are very frustrated as well. I think what's gotten me most upset, as well as others, is that Apple is NOT speaking to us and reassuring us about much, if anything. They seem to act like nothing's wrong, or that my problems are very rare - and minor. If they would just act like they care and go above and beyond to admit the full extent of the problems - and then say they are working on these specific issues - I would feel a whole lot better! They would definitely have more of my trust and respect (that has been badly damaged) if they would do that. If nothing else, I've spent a heck of a lot of money with them!
    Are you even listening Apple?

It has nothing to do with "getting near: the other iPhone.
They are using the same AppleID for iCloud.
On the 3GS, Setttings > icCloud, delete the iCloud account and turn it on using the new AppleID.
Whatever I have changed on my 4S...notes, apps..etc.
Settings > iTunes & App stores.
Tap your ApleID, sign out then sign in with new AppleID.

  • My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time for no reason every time I put it on silent or just get a Facebook message I have a broken sleep/power button anyone know how to fix this problem?

My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time the power/sleep button dosent work so it's quiet annoying having to plug it in all the time dose anyone have a fix for this?

The "fix" is to get the phone repaired.  There's no magic solution for a broken phone.
Bring your phone ant $149 to Apple for an out of warranty replacement, or find a 3rd party repair shop near you.

  • HT1414 why does my iPhone 5s shut down unpredictably and needs to be reset every time to start back up?

why does my iPhone 5s shut down unpredictably and needs to be reset every time to start back up?

    Hi Cyprus11,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPhone is shutting down unexpectedly, I recommend going through these troubleshooting steps:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Best,
    Jeremy
