My iPhone 3gs sudden turned off and after a few hard resets, and plugged in over night... still nothing. What else can I do?
The phone was not dropped or wet, but jut went off, it's charged all night and still after a few hard resets it will not switch on? is it dead?
Sounds like you need a new battery. My 3GS got the point of just turning off rather than shutting itself down properly so I knew due to the age of the phone it was the battery.
I got an ebay battery replacement for £12 + a set of tools for the job for about £4.
But please note relpacing the battery is not for the faint hearted!

Unless somebody else has a micracle workaround I don't know. Probably get the phone in for repair since it has been living on borrowed time so far and now you absolutely must have a working button.

sadly most likely u have to buy a new battery unless u didint update ur ios cause people on ios 4 are having problems like that

Could be a defective battery, you should get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place.

My iPhone 4 suddenly turned off without any notice and was dead. I would hold the sleep and main button together and nothing would happen. Once home, I connected it straight to the Adapter and now it is asking me to plug in itunes and 'Restore' my phone. What could have happened? Well if its the first time its probably nothing to worry about, things happen. If it happens again i would recommend uninstalling the last app you installed, if that fails take it to the apple store because it could be a hardware issue.

Try forcing the phone into recovery mode and restore as a new device.

Doing this will help eliminate any possible software issue that could be causing this. Setting up a new device will bypass a backup with possible data corruption.
If the issue continues after this, you should contact Apple for service for the phone as it will very likely be a hardware issue. -
