My iphone 3gs won't allow me to enter my email password. The acct is all greyed out in the settings menu and now I can't get email. I restored the phone through iTunes and did a hard reboot but nothing helped!!

I changed the password on my Yahoo mail account and now the phone will not let me enter the new password. The mail account is greyed out in the settings menu.

Try deleting the account and set up a new one. Also make sure to not sync the phone with old email settings.

Originally we were getting the error that the phone could not connect. Then, after deleting the account multiple times and re-adding it again, the error message CHANGED to having to log in to Yahoo and authorize.
When we went to Yahoo in a regular browser and logged in there was an alert telling us about connection attempts so it disabled mobile/iphone connectivity. It required that we change our password FIRST.
Then, we went in to Manage Apps and Webpages and saw that iPhone was not there but Facebook was.
After all of this went back to the phone and deleted then re-added the account again and SUCCESS!
It now also shows up on the Yahoo Manage Apps and Webpages.

I have just restored my phone through itunes and noticed that siri gone

I have just had to restored my phone through itunes at it froze and i couldnt turn it on/off, after the restore i have noticed that siri has gone and all the home button does is voice activation, siri is still in location services but nowhere else, i would much appreciate any help in trying to get siri back on before i have to contact apple to sort this out. many thanks people of apple community !!!!

If you restored from an earlier OS to the current OS: the Siri app that you might have installed from the App Store is no more, and will have been removed. Apple bought Siri, boosted it, and it is now available only as part of the OS on iPhone 4S.

If you're using Lion, you can resize by dragging from any corner, in Leopard and lower it can only be resized from the bottom right hand corner.

IPhone 5 created a backup larger than the phones capacity (16GB) and now I can't get anything back onto my phone after Restoring it!

I had a few storage issues to start with, I basically deleted everything in my phone (media, messages, notes, calanders, apps etc) and my phone still said it was at capacity. The more I deleted the less I could put on there. So I took it the the Apple Store where the manager told me to do a Restore. I did this, then was unable to put the backup straight back onto my phone as it said there was not enough free space (it was empty!), I then called Apple Support who instructed me on how to view the size of the backup and it turned out to be 16.32GB (.32GB larger than the iPhones's capacity) but were unable to give me any useful tips! I downloaded a backup extractor but have no idea how to use it! Please help me

Email server changed and now I can't get emails on my phone

My university is switching its email from its original server (@ualberta.ca) to gmail. Our emails are still all staying the same ([email protected]) we just access them through google now instead. The problem is I can't figure out how to get them on my phone anymore. I've tried deleting my old email address and then adding it again using the gmail option but my phone still recognizes this address at the old server and I have no idea how to fix it. If anyone could help that would be awesome!!

When you set up your mail settings, type in an invalid password and press submit. It will then allow you to select "enter my own settings" or something along those lines. You will need to change the mail server from the old ualberta server to 'imap.gmail.com'.Your username will be '[email protected]' and your password is your normal CCID password.
Make sure IMAP is enabled under your mail settings. Also, you will need to do the unlock captcha for Google mail for it to work. You can do this here at https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha with your ualberta email and password. (This section mirrors the information found on the AICT website)

If it's in recovery mode, the data is already gone. Why did you never back up your important data?

Your only option is to connect your iPhone to your computer via USB (as the diagram indicates) and restore using iTunes.

Success!! There truly is a light at the end of the tunnel. Apple support really did come through and I am successfully back into my account. Ready to purchase more music. I followed the instructions, with patience I thought I lost, submitted my problem, someone emailed me back within two days and all is now perfect. Thanks again Apple.
