My iphone 3Gs won't transfer new appointments to a shared ical and will only receive 3 out of 4 calendars when connected via itunes to our imac. Help!?
Usually I just connect my phone, itunes opens automatically and the phone syncs. It downloads any new appointments from my husbands updates into my phone from the computer and updates the ical on the computer with my new appointments. This system has allowed us for a whole year to keep a joint family calender. One phone still works but not the other. Any suggestions would be greatly apprciated!
I should add that I get the message "iTunes could not sync calenders to the iPhone because the iPhone disconneced". My iPhone is still connected and my husband uses the same cable successfully to sync his phone with our computer. My apps, contacts, music etc. all sync without any problems. Downloaded new ios7 and new itunes 11.1 and now iphone 4 won't finish syncing - just stays on last step and never finishes or cancels on its own. Tried reinstalling itunes with no success.
I have the same problem.. latest version of iTunes (11.1.5) and latest version of ios (7.1) but it gets stuck at "waiting for changes to be applied" and I can't cancel the sync manually. It doesn't cancel on it's own either (at least not the 8 hours over night that it was syncing) and if I unmount the phone then the phone keeps the sync going (the little spinning arrows in the upper left corner) and doesn't recognize that it's been disconnected..
I've tried restoring the phone (with little success, managed to get one more song on there) and syncing over wi-fi but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts, anyone? -
I'm selling my iPhone 3GS so I set it back to factory settings. I cannot unlock the phone, all it says is "connect to iTunes". How do I fix this?
Once you get it going you need to make sure you do the following so that you can sell the phone.
Turn off imessage in settings/messages
Turn off Facetime in settings/Facetime
Delete icloud account in settings/ilcoud
Erase all data and settings in settings/general/reset
Delete the phone from your profile in https://supportprofile.apple.com -
Has anybody had a similar problem , after charging my iPhone 5s (with the Apple charger and cable ) , the screen on the phone has locked with the Apple Symbol , the phone will neither switch on or off for me to take any action , restore , upgrade etc
I think your iPhone must be stuck in Apple logo. If so, you need to read the help guide: iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support

If resetting and restoring didn't fix it, you need to bring it to an Apple store to be evaluated. Sounds like the battery may have died.

You can clean the iPhone's dock connector with an old dry toothbrush.
You won't know for certain, but if no change after making sure the dock connector port is clean, more than likely there is some damage.
Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby where it can be determined if there is damage to the dock connector port or if there is another hardware problem. -

I have the same iPhone, and also sync with iTunes on my Mac Book Pro computer. After just a few months after purchasing my NEW iPhone 3GS, the charger stopped working and would not show up on the computer. After trouble shooting my equipment, I discovered that the USB CORD was no longer working, NOT the AC Jack Component. My phone was still under warranty for 1year with Apple Care and extended purchased insurance with VerizonWireless. I contacted VerizonWireless as per my contract agreement, and was transferred to Apple Care Support. Apple Care informed me: A new [Apple Manufactured Original Equipment parts] would be replaced free of charge, BUT, I would first need to secure the return of the defective equipment with a deposit of the purchase price on my credit card. After the receipt of my returned defective equipment, my credit card would be credited back for the full deposit amount. This was NOT acceptable to me. I called Verizon and they mailed me a new [VerizonWireless Manufactured part] USB Cord. After a time, I had to replace that USB cord also. Apparently the USB Cord burns out after a time of use. SOLUTION; I keep about 4 new USB Cords in stock at home!! You may also need to check if your iPhone software is up to date, this could effect it's performance also.

The screen you're seeing on your iPhone indicates it is in recovery mode. Now since the device is not appearing in iTunes on your PC, first follow the steps in this article:

After following those steps, you should be able to restore your iPhone.

This means the iPhone was hacked to be unlocked. The 3GS was not sold in the US as officially unlocked.
Restoring an iPhone with iTunes that was hacked to be unlocked or installing a firmware update on an iPhone that was hacked to be unlocked re-locks the iPhone to the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked when new. In this case, re-locked with ATT. -

Just transfer them from iTunes.
If they are not in iTunes. connect the iPod, then File > Devices > Transfer purchases.
Then connect the iPhone and sync these songs. -
