My iPhone 3GS (working on iOS 6.1.3) has not backed up to iCloud for the past 10 weeks.
My iPhone 3GS (working on iOS 6.1.3) has not backed up to iCloud for the past 10 weeks. And whenever I try Backing up to iTunes or to iCloud via either a pc or a Mac, I get the message: "Itunes could not backup the iPhone because an error occured". I tried turning off all apps for backup, but that did not help. I tried deleting all the photos and that did not help either. I tried the backup trobelshooting and I have tried using different computers. I'm completely stomped.

I have two laptops, a Powerbook G4 and a MacBook.
Here's the ways that iChat video chat works for me:
Connecting via AIM buddy list while both laptops are connected to the internet via the same router (ie. they are in the same location).
Connecting via AIM buddy list from either computer to a test computer (appleutest03) over the internet.
Connecting via AIM buddy list from either computer to a friends computer over the internet.
[I do not use Bonjour]
Here's the way that it doesn't work:
Connecting via AIM buddy list from one laptop to the other laptop over the internet. My comment in the previous post referred to the phenomenon where both computers could video chat if they were on the same router, connected to the internet, connecting through the AIM buddy list, but not if each computer was connected to the internet through a separate router at a separate location (ie. next door). In other words, if both laptops are at my apartment, and connected through that apartment's router to the internet, they can video chat. If both laptops are at the apartment next door, connected through that apartment's router to the internet, they can video chat. If one laptop is at apartment A, using apartment A's router to connect to the internet, and one laptop is at apartment B, using apartment B's router to connect to the internet, they cannot video chat, and the -8 error results.

You need a computer with iTunes and an internet connection
Try:
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My iPhone 4 has lost SIM connection several times over the past week when the phone is left on continually. I have had the SIM checked and it was not the source of the problem. I have found that I can reactivate the SIM by switching the phone off and on again. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, is there an easy fix. I have been advised by Apple that the latest IOS update may overcome this situation but I'm only on slow download speeds and 690 Mb would take forever. I would appreciate any advice.

Hi my airport router ( ateast i think this is where the problem originates) has been turning off intermittenly for the past week, when it does this NO devices recieve internet connection, mac, pc,iphone, ipad, wireless or hardwired directly to the router. However they all show to be connected with their corresponding bars and the ip's are all fine. Earlier today it started flucuating on and off about every 5 min making work impossible and now it seems to be completely broken (im currently on my iphone connected though its own internet) Does anyone know how or ehy this happened and how i can fix this? And to know if this originates from the router or something else entirely. Thank you!
Hi - some clarifications would help narrow down some symptoms - just what has been turning off? - has the light been solid green but the modem isn't providing wi-fi? - or is the light flashing yellow with no internet? - which can mean several things - does the light go out completey? - so if you can report on exactly what is happenening and when, maybe someone can help you - we also need to know if there any error messages along the way - we also need the types of devices involved and how they are attached - kind of like a nework map - the more info that you provide, the more answers you will get.

My iPhone has not backed up to iCloud in 44 weeks. But yet, when I went to iCloud.com all my new contacts were updated, but I noticed my PhotoStream did not appear on the Home screen. When I try to update on my iPhone it says the next backup is too large (I only have my contacts and photos saved to iCloud). I have about 500 photos, and I know people with over 1,000 photos whose phones get backed up with the free 5GB just like me. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how I can fix this problem so I can backup my photos?

This seems to be because you don't have enough room, have you been to settings > iCloud > Storage & Back Up > Manage.... and looked up what is taking up the room and how big your next back would be.
I noticed my PhotoStream did not appear on the Home screen
Photo Stream isn't one of the features of iCloud.com -

For the past week my iTunes hasn't been working.
For the past week my iTunes hasn't been working. It won't even let me open the program, I get about 5 error messages popping up one after the other, saying - 'Runtime error! R6034. An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly...' - I even tried uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling it, but half way through the download these same error messages pop up, and then it says - 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (windows error 1114)' - HELP! Does anyone have a clue what this is? Because I don't. I have always had iTunes and had no problems until now.

There a few things you could try. One, is to start up iTunes in safe mode by holding Shift-Control and the other option is to try opening in a new user on your computer. Check out the article below for more information and further troubleshooting.

My iPhone 5 needs to be restored, but I'm not backed up to iCloud
I plugged in my phone to my computer today to sync with iTunes, and I received a message claiming that I need to restore my phone. I'm not backed up to iCloud. In fact, my iCloud has never backed up on this phone, and I've never been able to get it to work. I'm currently trying to.
I believe it's been backed up to my computer, but I'm really unsure. Is there any way that I can check to see if it has?
I'd really like to not lose all of my data, please help!
-RachelTo see if your phone has been backed up to the computer, start iTunes. From there, go to Edit, Preferences, Devices, and check to see if you see a backup listed there, and what the date is. If it is sometime not to long ago, you are in luck. If there isn't, your in trouble. Once the phone goes into recovery mode, the data is already gone.
Remember, restore the device, and then if you do use a backup you found on the computer, that restore will be to that date/time of the backup, and anything done since that time/date is lost. -

MMS turned on? Settings>Messages>SMS/MMS>MMS Messaging>On. If MMS is turned on, can you send/receive SMS's? If so, contact your carrier. 99.9% of the time, if MMS is turned on & you can send/receive SMS's, the problem rests with your carrier. Either MMS is not provisioned properly on your account, or not provisioned at all.

I have a iPhone 3gs and I purchased 30 songs and an audio book on my iphone through itunes. I manage my own songs on my PC's itunes. I tried to drag and drop my legally purchased songs and audiobook onto the itunes library on my PC. It will not allow me to do this. When I purchase songs on my PC through itunes, I can drag and drop songs to the iphone, but it won't allow me to do it from phone to pc. I checked a number of sites trying to find an answer. Many of them recommend updating the itunes version. I started to do this, but at the beginning of the update it said I might lose files on my iphone since they weren't transferred to my PC library. I stopped the upgrade, because past upgrades have wiped out all songs, ringtones, books and apps from my phone. (The phone and PC are all authorized.) Could someone please tell me a simple straightforward way to copy the phone files onto my pc via itunes?
When conntecting to a public Wi-Fi conenction, here's what you do. I'll use the public Wi-Fi for Starbucks as an example. Turn on the Wi-Fi adapter on your Mac and choose "attwifi". My iMessage stopped working about a week and a half ago (today is 4/26/13), even when connected to my home WiFi. My fiance is having the same problem with his iMessage. Both of our iMessage and FaceTime accounts are "active" according to our iPhone settings. Friends who live across the country (we're in the USA) have asked us why we've stopped using iMessage. Please, HELP!!!
Thanks for the reply. I tried that, then updated my phone (which restarts everything). Those steps seem to have fixed the problem for now.

My iPhone 4S has not backed up to iCloud ever since I installed iOS7.
I seem to have all of the proper settings in Settings. I have tried backing up explicitly by selecting "Back up now" in Settings > iCloud > Storage & backup. It acted as though it were backing up but after it was done, iTunes still shows my latest cloud backup date as October 5, 2013, and today I got an alert on my iPhone that it has not been backed up in 5 weeks. WiFi is on, the iPhone is connected to a charger, and the phone is locked. What else do I need?
I have 4.1 GB of available space in my iCloud account.
What am I missing?If there is nothing 'new' to be backed up, then iCloud isn't going to overwrite the old backup with an exact duplicate.
What is turned 'on' in your iCloud backup? Add something new to your device (like a new Contact or Calendar for example), and then try the manual backup again. Make sure you're connected to wi-fi and plugged into a power outlet.
