My iPhone 4 doesn't like to SYNC music to my Ford

I have a Ford Edge with the SYNC system. My old iPhone 3G worked great with it. My new iPhone 4 works fine for phone calls but won't play music from the phone even when hooked up with the USB cable. When I'm doing it by Bluetooth, I can barely here something playing but mostly just low level static.
Anybody else having this prob and/or know what to do?

Delete your old phone from the Bluetooth device list. Re pair your new phone.
When you plug in your phone with the USB, be sure to select USB from the media list. Next look at the iPhone and select iPod. On the screen, you will see the only option available is a speaker icon. When you Touch it, a source selection will appear, select USB. With that selected,you can control the iPhone through Sync. IPhone cannot be controlled through Bluetooth but will play by Bluetooth through the sound system. Make sure bluuetooth is selected as a media source in Sync, and Bluetooth is selected on the iPhone through the iPod function. Set the iPhone volume,using the iPhone volume control to at least 50%. the car audio volume can be adjusted with the car volume control. If the iPhone volume is too low, the car will not compensate for it.

My iPhone 4 won't let me sync music from my library. I have an Ipad and this syncs fine with all the same settings.
I have tried removing music from library and putting them back in to the library from another folder. I've restored my phone. I've converted tracks to AAC. I've tried syncing in different ways. Mac OS X won't let me uninstall iTunes so this is not an option.
I thought I'd get over this by downloading an album from iTunes store straight on to my phone (I only want a handful of tracks for running!) but music won't download either! Nothing to do with wi-fi as I have downloaded them on to my Mac Mini and iPad fine. Just the iPhone.
HELP, I'm driving myself mad!! All updates are present and correct.

Yesterday, I updated (6.01) both my phone and my computer's iTunes at the same time. I was thinking that was iTunes v11, but maybe it was 10.5, didn't pay close enought attention. All the music was removed from the phone's iPod, and all of the music extracted from my CDs onto iTunes went away as well, although the purchased music stayed. Unplugging and resynching from the computer did not cause the music to re load on the phone. From reading various other discussions, I think that I am missing several tabs from the iTunes header, specifically "Devices". One fellow mentioned Devices/Music/SyncMusic as a fix, but after several minutes of searching for hidden buttons, there just isn't one on my iTunes. Help!!

Ctrl + B puts the top menu in place.
View > Show Sidebar the devices when connected appear in the left hand window.
Select your device and on the right hand side selecth the music page option. Tick Sync Music and then either sync it all if you have space or sync selected playlists etc.
Select the Artists, Playlist, Albums Genre's you want and click apply bottom right

I authorized 2 laptops to my iPhone 5 but one can only sync music while the other can only sync apps!

I have an iPhone 5 and I have authorized 2 laptops to sync with it.
The problem is I can only sync apps I have downloaded from one laptop while music from the other laptop. I can't sync music and apps to my iPhone from the same laptop.
How do I solve this?
Note: The first laptop I synced with is also shared with my wife's iPhone 4.

you can only really sync your phone with one device, well strictly not true but its the better practice.
first point, be careful here.
second, plug your iPhone into the first machine and check the settings related to synchronising with 'that' machine.
then do the same with the second.
you will find that one is setup to sync apps and the other to sync music. I'd recommend that you go to the one that has your music stored on it, get it to download all of your apps and use this machine as your main machine from now on.
Using two seperate machines must be confusing and could lead to you suddenly loosing all of you data if you sync completely with one machine that does contain everything you want!

IPhone 3GS doesn't want to sync my contacts over iCloud.

I have a newest iOS version, I can turn off and turn back on iCloud syncing but it doesn't help. It's pretty frustrating as some contacts that I have in my mac doesn't appear in my telephone. I have this problem for long time already. Last time I was visiting I read somewhere here that new update for iOS will solve it:) I think I had two since then.

Go to Settings>iCloud and set up the same iCloud account using the same ID and password on your second phone as on your first. Then turn syncing for your data (contacts, calendars, etc.) to On, and when prompted, choose Merge. If you haven't activated the second phone you specify the iCloud account during the setup process; just use the same iCoud account name and password.

From my initial transfer I have used both my iPhone and iPod to purchase music therfore there is a greater amount of music on these devices than what is held on laptop. Connect to iTunes on your PC and select "Transfer purchases..." from the File/Devices menu. This will add the purchases from each iDevice to your iTunes Library.

Thge 2G iPod can only go to iOS 4.2.1. Many apps not require iOS 4.3 or later.

You have to buy OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, it's not a free download. Call the online Apple store, which in the US isn 800-MY-APPLE to order it. Assuming you have at least 1GB of memory and some free disk space, install it, then run Software Update until there aren't any more updates. You'll then be at 10.6.8 and can install iTunes 7.

Hi, I just bought a 3G a few days ago. I've synced it numerous times, but it still says on my phone there is no music in my iPod category? What have I done wrong? I have it set to transfer all music on my computer.

Worked out what to do.
Double click the home button to bring up the apps that are running.
Find photos app and hold finger on it until the red minus appears, then close it down.
Re open photos and the pictures are all there to view.
(I closed all the open apps and it helped with speed a huge amount)

IPhone 5 doesn't connect to iTunes, although I just synchronized my iPhone 3.

I just bought an iPhone 5 and would like to sync with content from iPhone 3. When configurating the iPhone, I chose the option to connect to iTunes. However, it was impossible to click on File/ synchronize iPhone, as it was greyed out!
As I wanted to use it straight off, I had to chose the configuration option "use as new device" (or similar).
How do I sync with iTunes now? It still doesn't connect to my iTunes account.

How do I get music onto my iPhone without having to download it from the Cloud? My iPhone gives the error "sync will resume when "computer" is available" on the final step of synching. The computer says "waiting for changes to be applied" but the phone doesn't have the two little sync arrows anymore. Seems it will stay like that for hours if I don't cancel it. I've tried syncing the songs with the cord & without the cord; using only purchased music or only a few songs. I've restarted both devices & both are updated with the latest software. My phone says it hasn't synced in 5 months, even though I've tried. WiFi is working. I've tried checking and unchecking the box in iTunes. I've turned Windows Firewall on/off. I would recommend re syncing the music to the phone from iTunes by unchecking the sync music checkbox in iTunes, sync, then re check it and sync again.
For reference this is what I mean:
Syncing music
Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
Select your your iPod in the Devices section on the left side of the iTunes window.
In the main iTunes browser window, select Music.
Select the option to Sync Music. You may also select "Include Music videos" if you would like to sync Music videos to a device.

New iTunes will not allow me to manually sync music to Iphone 4s

I had to change my computer's hard disk which is a mac, I updated itunes as I had done before with my other hard disk, but now my itunes will not allow me to manage anything in my iphone 4s. I cannot manually sync music to my iphone as I used to, not even the option "ADD TO" appears when you click on the "On this phone" tab. I was wondering what I have to do for my itunes to recognize that it is my phone.

It gets stuck at preparing to update every time I try.
