My iphone 4 has red dot just above speaker and it gets heated easily when it has been charged...so it is not going to switch on.???

My iphone 4 is not working since last 42 hours.
yesterday morning i found my iphone4 switched off and i was trying to swtich on my ipphone 4 but i was failed.
so i thought i had to put in charge. but th also itwas not charged...and yesterday night i found red dot just above spreaker in front side. after some time it was diapear and my phone was charging...but again i failed to switch on...now today morning my phone accepted to charge n when it charge about 5-6% i could switch on my phone at that time no red dot apear at same place...and my iphone work normaly....but after few min i was not able to unlock screen and at same time i found same red dot on screen and with in few second my iphone switch off slowly and again i can't charge or switch on again.

I had this issue on my iphone 4, and two songs listed on the iPhone in iTunes had the dotted circle. I researched it, and I found a hundred different answers. Some were complicated like uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. All I did was this... In iTunes under Music, I simply unchecked Sync Music, and I deleted all music from my iPhone. I then checked Sync Music, chose all the songs I wanted. No songs in iTunes had dotted circles, and all songs on my iPhone played.

You may have to let the battery fully drain
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I think that the battery is dead because , if you don't charge it for a long time the battery will ruin. You must wait, with the charger plugged, for a long time to turn it on. it could be also a worse problem and you have to replace your battery

my iphone 4s has been reporting invalid sim/sim card failure intermittently for a week. I thought it was a one/two-time thing, so had to manually eject SIM card and put back in. Today, after it happened twice in 12 hours, someone told me to reset - i thought they meant reset all settings, not network settings. while in the middle of resetting, there was an invalid SIM card again. so a few questions - which should i do first? try to manually back up from itunes (not connected to cloud - will be after tonight!), or eject SIM card? don't know if one will jeopardize the other. also, the last time i backed up was 6 days ago - have taken hundreds of pics since then - are those all lost? is there a way to essentially not reset? i thought the reset was okay because it said i'd lose no data or media. Help! thanks much!

My iPhone 4 has been dead for 24 hours and I've been charging it for 12 hours and it still won't turn on. I have tried holding the lock button and home button down, even connected it to computer but nothing's happening, it randomly died on me.

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
- Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
- Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
- Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
- After at least 15 minutes, if:
- The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
- The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
- Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
- If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.

My iPhone 4s has been on and off telling me SIM failure" when I text someone. It has also ended my calls when I try to make them. The other thing it is doing is saying "No Service" at the top left corner where it is supposed to say Verizon. I can't figure out how to fix it. please help!

since update ios 7 my iphone 4 has been giving me trouble. sometimes will not respond to touch, is very slow when texting, and battery runs down very quickly when not in use and all apps are closed, has anyone had the same problem
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

My battery life on my iphone 4 has been TERRIBLE since the most recent iOS update. Is anyone else experiencing this? At night I use a white noise app, and up to the most recent update, I never was below half battery in the morning. Now my phone is completely dead in the morning. I've noticed it draining faster in general since the update as well, but that particular app was just the best example.
One of the new features on the iPhone 4 is Multitasking ; it lets you do multiple things at once. For example, while iPhone is busy downloading a movie from iTunes, you can switch to the Safari app and browse IMDb in the meantime. So there's no more waiting around.
Each time you open an app and then press the home button, the app is still open. At the end, you may have too many apps opened at the same time.
To close apps, double click on the home button. Your opened apps will appear; hold one of them, then click on the red close to close an app.
Close as many as possible if you don't need them. -
How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. I do NOT want to spank all of my data allowance downloading it again, especially because (believe it or not) I added it to my phone because that's precisely where I wanted it!! Any help much appreciated

But in terms of my initial query; thanks for responding. But no, this is NOT the cause of the problem. I have auto sync and sync over wifi activated, but have also selected manually manage music and videos. Plus, all of my music and videos are on my macbook, absolutely all of it, so if it my phone was syncing with my macbook everything would still be on the phone. Life would be peachy if my phone jsut copied everything that was on my macbook, but unfortuantely it keeps deleting tracks for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts greatly welcomed, because at the moment i can only conclude that my iphone is crap. -
My iPhone 5s has been deleting my calendar. First time, just the calendar, then next time the calendar and contacts, then yesterday, calendar, contacts, notes and reminders. The phone is only 6 months old or so and is on iOS 7.1.2 (although I need to update it- but have to do some storage management first...)
I have looked at my calendar in my icloud account and it is a week or so out of date, even though it supposedly backed up from my phone on Friday. I am becoming very frustrated by this. Am I doing something wrong? Advice would be much appreciated. In the past I have deleted my icloud account from my phone and then re-signed in, as well as sharing my calendar with myself to restore it, and it works eventually.Sorry I misstyped- it is an iphone 4s.

okay, so lately my iPhone 3GS has been telling me i have no service what so ever for the past two days. But today when i was on the bus going home from school, i had perfect service and everything until i got close to my house (to clarify, i live somewhat far out from the center of town, and my school is right in the middle of town.. didnt know if that would affect anything). So then i asked my Dad about it and he reccomended restoring and updating my phone to see if it helped because im a couple updates behind. So i plugged it in, backed it up, and began to restore and update it. All was well until it got to the "verifying the restore with apple" stage. I was watching the rose bowl and not paying attention while it was on, but remembered that it started that stage at the beginning of the game. Now the game just ended 5 or 10 minutes ago and lasted a goood hour, hour an a half, and its still verifying!! i dont know what to do... HELP!

Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen items. A carrier may offer IMEI blocking (non in the USA currently do, but elsewhere some do). Your carrier would already know your IMEI number anyway, so just contact them and ask them about it.
It is VERY good that you had a passcode lock on the device. That means your personal information will be safe. And yes, after 10 failed attempts (each with increasing time out between allowing another attempt) the device will permanently lock them out until they restore the device in iTunes. Anyone can go ahead and restore your iPhone as new in iTunes, but that also wipes everything off it and restores it to new condition - which does mean they can go off and use it as theirs, but at least all your data is gone.
Did you file a police report it was stolen? Also your carrier should be told (and ask them about IMEI blocking). Sorry it is gone, but you did the best thing possible to protect yourself and your information when you set up that passcode lock.
