My iPhone 4 is acting up?

My iPhone 4 is constantly blacking out or telling me to connect to iTunes and restore it. When I do it lasts for a bit and starts doing it again. Now it's not even connecting to iTunes; it says error(9). I really need help on how to fix it, it's been doing this for about two weeks straight. So, how would I fix this? Thanks!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Have all of these been tried?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

The music app on my Iphone 5 is acting up, it keeps skipping  songs and wont allow the to play. You can see the music icon the on notification bar play and pause. When i go back to the app is states the url is not responding. I have restored it from the backed up cloud save. It is the music app, I played music on pandora and it worked fine. I think it must be the app or the ios.

restore with itunes not from an itunes backup or cloud save they do absolutely nothing only a clean restore will solve your problem

Plug it in to power for at least 15 minutes.
The, try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • IPhone silent switch acting, odd

    Hi
I purchased an iPhone 3GS in Febuary, 2010 (Approx. 8 months ago) and is still under the 1 year warranty. Recently my silent switch has been acting up for the past week often going from silent to ring in my pocket constantly buzzing. I dont have this problem when the phone is set to ring, only when it is switched to silent. Now it has gotten worse to the point where i will switch the phone to silent and it wont buzz or show the "Silent" logo but if i push up on it ever so slightly it will switch to silent but if i let go it will go back to ring.
What should i do? I treat the phone extremely careful and theres nothing wrong with it other than there being scratches on the back and i have already tried a hard reset and a software restore. (Software is OS 4.1 and has not been jailbroken)
Should i take it to an apple store? Would it get replaced/serviced?
    Thanks.

If it is bothering you, then make an appointment at the genius bar.
If it is defective then they will replace.

  • IPhone 6 screen acting up

i have an iPhone 6 and my screen/ digitizer acts up sometimes and just randomly starts clicking things.  like sometimes I will clost out of an app by hitting the home button and it no more than gets to the home screen and it opens another app.  Or I'll try to scroll down and it'll jerk up and down like it can't figure out where my finger is.  Is this a bad screen/digitizer or do I have another issue somewhere else?  It's done this ever since Ive had the phone but it doesn't happen all the time. I'm starting to notice that it does it more when it is plugged in but it also does it when it's not plugged in to my charger.  I have all apple cables and wall plugs. Ive had the phone since they were Release.  Thanks

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not help, set it up as new device, explained here:
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If still no luck, get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or contact Apple Support to get it serviced:

  • Is there an app or anything out there, that will allow my iphone voicemail to act as a business voicemail.  Such as "Press 1 to leave a voicemail for such and such, press 2 for support, press 3 for billing."

I would like to set up mailboxes within my iphone voicemail.  I would like to be able to filter out what messages are most important.  Does anyone know if this can be done.  I don't mind paying for the service.

the voicemail is not a part of ios it's a carrier thing
what people have if any in terms of voicemail is what the carrier provided for them

  • Re: after update 4.3.5 i am facing touch sensitivity problem the iphone 4 is acting funnily... corner of the screen is not responding at all  i cant use any apps, letters, numbers at the corner of the screen

Recently i have updated my iphone 4 to latest 4.3.5 update using itunes... from the time i have updated... i am facing problems... like touch sensitivity... like cant attend the call at one swipe... cant use any applications at the corner of the screen... some times i touch message icon... it moves to next page... some times in the applications without touching the screen in the app the features get activated...    is it the problem with the software update or my iphone is having any problem with screen...
please let me know what should i do...

Do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B:
    Restart phone
    Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore as a new iPhone, without using a backup.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPhone_iOS4_User_Guide.pdf
    Also, remove any screen protector.
If none of the above works, there is a hardware problem that needs evaluation by Apple or whoever provides iPhone warranty service in your country.

  • My iphone is not acting fine

i change my country and my iphone refuses to recognize the country sim card telling me the sim is not valid and i tryed restoring it after the restore it says the same thing what do i do?

Is your iPhone still locked to the service provider in your old country? Did you take steps to unlock it or did you just wrongly assume that the locking would not apply in new country.
If so, you'll have to talk to them and have it unlocked.
In Australia there has been a great freeing up of this restriction in the last year. All major service providers allow easy online unlocking, even for phones still on contract to them.
From Australia, overseas countries vary in their cooperation. But some e.g. Tesco in UK are very helpful.
BTW it is Apple who actually lock or unlock the phone to the service provider's network, at the request of the service provider.

  • IPhone display is acting strange, going crazy!

    Hey guys,
I have a pretty big issue with my iPhone 4. I bought it more than a year ago, therefore it cant be neither repaired nor replaced with the Apple warranty. The issue I noticed is that while I dont touch my phone, it seems to do strange things. The display somehow lives its own life. I don't have to touch the phone for it to switch to iPod mode, camera mode, sometimes contacts. It's really frustrating because the phone without me even realizing sometimes calls my contacts. I always kept it in a rubber case, and never have I dropped it to the ground. So I definitely dont think I'm the one to be blamed, and Apple will not repair or replace the phone since it's not under warranty. I tried updating the software, but that doesnt help either.
Do you have any advice, what I could do with the phone in order to get rid of this issue? Is there anything I can do? Please let me know as its very frustrating to use this messed up device.
I'm definitely hoping for some help from you Apple fans.
    Best regards,

If you have restored iPhone Firmware, and the problem still is present, then there are two likely possibilities. First is faulty Digitizer, requiring entire new front screen assembly. Other is the power management circuitry is causing surges within iPhone effecting Digitizer. If this was my iPhone I would seriously consider buying new phone. If you want, Apple Store fix, would be Replacement iPhone 4 exactly same as yours for $149.

  • IPhone 3g S acting WEIRD! need help!

I got a brand new iPhone 3g S 32gb white this morning. the sleep button doesnt work. and I can't turn it on or off without connecting it to the computer or putting it in the charger.

Have you tried to do a Restore via iTunes. If so, and you have held the top and front buttons simultaneously for a long period of time and do not get any response, I'd say the phone is defective. Likely you will need to return it to the vendor and ask for a replacement.
An alternative, if that will work in Finland, would be to take it to your service provider and ask for them to help you.

An iPhone is just like any computer when the operating system detects that storage is low it prevents any further updating to avoid compromising the installation

  • Volume in iPhone 6 is acting weird

    Hi,
I am lately facing a strange thing regarding my speakers of my iPhone 6. Actually, when I used to decrease the level of the volume in  particular application, it won't effect the whole phone volume regarding the notifation sound and etc. but now, whenever i decrease the sound in any app and leave it, i find the whole phone in a low sound. is there any solution for this issue?
    thank you

I think I found a solution. I hope it works for you, as well. I know, it's one of those simple things… I reset my network settings. Afterwards, I did a few little tests. I started checking the normal clicking sound, and everything was at normal volume. Then I opened one of my games which is never kept a full volume. I closed out my phone, and it was at the volume of the game. Then I close the game and did it again… Normal volume. So I started checking everything all over again, including taking photos. Normal volume!
I would go ahead and try that and hopefully it works for you. Again, I have the 5S so I don't know if it would be any different for you. I would imagine it would work just as fine having the same iOS. Good luck!
