$99 is the carrier's fully subsidized or discounted price which requires signing a new two year contract with the carrier. Apple's out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price which pays for an exchange at a significantly reduced price off the full retail sales price has no effect on the existing contract nor requires signing a new contract with the carrier.

That's where I would begin, too, with
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

My iphone 5c has lifted out of its case on one side, and now the screen has cracked on that side! its still under warentee but i dont know what to do im not paying for it to be fixed when i havnt done anything! is there anything or anyone thats experianced this problem?
You can get all your question answered, by taking it into the Apple store.
If it is a manufactuing defect then you'll more than likely get a replacement without being charged.
If they deem that the phone is damaged by accidental cause, then you would need to pay for an out of warranty 5C unless you have apple care or apple care ++ -

My iphone is out of warranty, the ear receiver is not working as i cant hear anything from it. Only when i put the phone in speaker mode or plug the headphones i can hear, if i take it to the apple store will it get replaced for a refurbish one?
I have tried most of the stuff that i have found in here. I held the home button and sleep button until the apple cameout, i plugged in and out the headphones, i blew air into the headphone jack, i restored my phone. I dont think it has to do anything with the earphone jack because when there are hear phones and i bring the volume up or down it doesnt say headphones in the volume bar. Any other suggestions guys? do you guys think that ill get it exchanged at the apple store without a warranty?

IPhone 4s (out-of-warranty) cost of screen repair?
So I have an iPhone 4s that I know is out-of-warranty. I do not have Applecare+. Today at work my phone got knocked off a table onto the floor, and when I checked the phone, everything was working fine. But when I went to check it on my break a couple hours later, the screen was shades of blue/whiteblack with vertical lines running up and down the screen. My phone still vibrates/rings when getting a call, and it will light up the screen when I get a notification, but the screen itself has no functionality. I can't see anything. And everything else about the handset is perfect--no cracks or broken glass, just a small chip on the back bottom left corner and a small scratch on the front bottom left corner glass that have been there since about 6 months in when I dropped it in a parking lot. I know it is some sort of internal hardware issue and not a software problem because I took a screenshot of my blue striped screen and then looked at the photo via the iCloud photo stream on my PC. The screenshot looks like my normal screen with the time and everything on it. I really feel like the screen just has a connection knocked loose or something.
I know that the phone is out-of-warranty, and that I will have to pay for a repair/replacement--I don't mind having to pay to fix it--but I am wondering if it will be even possible to get it fixed at the Genius Bar, or will they just turn me away and tell me I need to purchase a brand new handset at full price (which I really cannot afford) because I am out of warranty.
Any advice?So no chance of just getting the screen fixed by Apple? I was trying to avoid winding up with a refurbished phone.

I bought an ipad2 for Christmas, a small crack started near middle of the screen, I put a screen protector on but it spread the length of the screen. It is barely noticeable and everything else is fine. What can I do to get it fixed? Is it under warentee? The store I bought it from said call the apple store. I called the apple store and they said bring it in but store is a 80 minute drive and they might fix it for at least $200 more. I described what happened and employee said that was impossible or basically I am a liar. Any thoughts out there? I just find it hard to believe that with all iPads sold none have had an imperfection with the glass. Mean it still works but why do I neen to pay hundreds of dollars to fix this?
The technician apparently doesn't believe, or at least isn't sure, that the crack would have appeared without some sort of impact to the iPad. I have no way of knowing whether or not the crack in your device appeared spontaneously nor not, but what I believe really doesn't matter; it's what Apple believes, and if they believe that some damage occurred to the iPad, due to a drop, being hit, having something dropped on it, whatever, If you can't convince them that the crack occured spontaneously, then the problem will not be covered under warranty and you have to pay for the replacement. You can try going to the Apple Store, explaining the situation, and hope that the technician agrees that the problem wasn't due to user damage, but no one here can guarantee that. You'll just have to try.
And yes, sometimes people do lie. I'm not saying that you did, but the Apple technician has I'm sure heard a number of lies from people in similar situations.

I am updating a new IPAD to the latest version from ITUNES. The update is not complete and has stopped. What is the procedure to restart? If I close ITUNES i get a message that the IPAD is updating. Will closing the application cause the update to be corrupted and thus the operating system? Will the same occur if I power the IPAD down or disconnect it vis the USB port?

This is done by going to the "Go" in the Finder and select Go To Folder. Copy and paste:
~/Library/iTunes/
In to Go To Folder selection. Look for a folder called iPad Software Updates. Delete anything in that folder and re download the upadate. -
im locked out of itunes because i need to put my passcode in but my display screen is broken. i dont know how to fix it because im tying to back up my old iphone but i cant without putting in my passcode.
If you have synced the device on a computer in the past, you can back it up without the passcode. If you have not synced/backed up the device before, then you are out of luck. No way to back it up or sync it without the passcode.

I have had the same problem. Between 8-10 minutes into a call the phone freezes and drops the call. I cannot do ANYTHING for about 45 seconds while it says CALL ENDING. I cannot use the phone at all and if anyone tries to call me it goes straight to VM. I am on my 3rd iPhone 5 now due to this issue and another issue of a bad speaker. I have restored, restarted, spent hours setting it up as a brand new phone all for not. It still drops the call and freezes. Makes me so mad.

It sons silly but check the little button above the volume buttons on the side and make sure you can't see orange... If you can, flip it.... And the sound will work. Took me hours to figure that one out....

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
