My iphone 4 keeps searching for signal and then goes to no service for a good hour! what's wrong with it?

I have had my iPhone 4 for nearly a year now and previously i have had no problems with the phone but over the past few weeks since i have done the ios:5 update..
It's been driving me insane. I lose signal when i need signal the most & it's also been cutting out all of my phone calls.
Is anyone else having the same problem? & have you resolved it.. PLEASE HELP. I'M DESPERATE.

Try restoring the iPhone as well as getting a new sim card.

That iPhone needs to be tested by the techs at an Apple store genius bar to see what is faulty in the hardware.

  • IPhone 5 keeps searching for carrier.

I have an unlocked iPhone 5. I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 7 and now it keeps searching for carrier. What should I do?

Well, it seems the phone is working again now. I've tried to restore it several times (which didn't work) but after restoring it from backup (iCloud) the phone seems to work again.
It's not a real solution becouse I've tried to restore it several times without result. Very very very strange problem...

  • IOS 7.0.3: iPhone 5 keeps searching for a network without sim

    Hi there
I update my iPhone 5 from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3 yesterday.
Since then my iPhone does not care about the sim card.
I can remove the sim card and the iPhone keeps searching for a network.
Whe I insert another sim, the iPhone does not ask for a pin.
I did a iPhone Restore. Saddly the bug is still there.
My problem no is, I cannot activate my iPhone after the restore, because of the sim card problem.
Is there a simple solution, or shoud I go to an Apple Store?
    Thanks!

My solution was the Recovery Mode:

  • Why is it when using my iPhone 4s front camera, the screen sometimes turn black or have blue stripes on it? What's wrong with it and what should I do?

When using my iPhone 4s front camera, the screen sometimes become black or have blue stripes on it! Is this a hardware or software problem? Can this issue be covered by my warranty? I bought it inmid-december last year, and this problem came at around Late January. It's a rare case, only came about 5 times, but this really concerns me. What's wrong with it? Thank you so much for your concern.

    thank you for your reply
I brought it to the store and they agreed to give me an exchange. thank goodness!
I have a new question: I've now transferred my back up datas to my new iphone. They wanted me to register, so I registered (as my old apple ID) and then they asked if I want to restore backup, I did that too. after the restore back up process, the only things that aren't there were my music and apps! what should I do to get them into my new iPhone?

  • My iphone 4 speakers stopped giving me sounds when i play audio or video even while gaming. It works fine when ringing tunes of for voice mails. What is wrong with it?

My iphone 4 speakers stopped giving me sounds when i play audio or video even while gaming. It works fine when ringing tunes of for voice mails, even works fine with headsets. What is wrong with it?

well i'd seriosly say point a hot hair drier at the speakers as water has entered the phone most commonly via the home button but avoid getting it too hot let it cool every 3 minutes after constant drying. Don't worry I have honestly dont this with my iPhone 4 GSM 16GB. For future reference avoid letting it get wet.

  • Unlocked iPhone 5 keeps searching for signal overseas

Sorry if this has been answered previously, but I could not find anything to my particular issue. I have an unlocked iPhone 5 that worked just fine in the US however, I am now stationed overseas and have purchased a contract from T-Mobile in Germany. When the new SIM card was initially inserted, the phone recieved signal and worked just fine. About an hour or two after the phone working, it began cycling through "Seaching..." and "No Service" continuously. T-Mobile would not try a new SIM card due to the current one apparently being just fine (they took mine out of my phone and put it in another iPhone and it worked). So they claim that it is either an iOS or hardware issue, which it very well may be. I have tried all the little 'tricks' found all around threads such as; turning airplane mode on and off, force reset(home and power button held together), system restore, reset network settings, and reset all settings. All to no avail. My old AT&T SIM still works just fine over here and connects to the networks over here just fine however, I have been told several times that it's a iOS or hardware issue. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Go back to T-Mobile and demand new SIM card. You are paying for cell sevice if they cannot provide it, then cancel T-Mobile. I am sure they will give you functioning SIM Card.

  • Just lately, my iPod has been saying that it's connected to wifi, but when I try to use the wifi and use an app that requires wifi, it keeps saying things like 'Cannot connect to server' when it clearly is 'connected'. What's wrong with my iPod?

Also, when I tried to connect my iPod to my MacBook Pro, and sync it into iTunes, 'iTunes could not connect to this iPhone.' First it's not an iPhone, and second, my iPod could sync perfectly fine before the wifi problem. Is there a way to return it back to normal; fix it? Someone please answer.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Iphone 6 continually searches for network. Tried reset numerous times with no luck. Removed sim card. I have been having problems with it since update.

iphone 6 will not find service. I have tried resetting numerous times. It worked once but soon after lost service again. This problem started gradually last week and if I shut phone off it would usually find service again. This time nothing. I have tried every reset, removing sim card, and restoring from iTunes. Nothing works.

Its still in warranty. Take it to an Apple store. Make an appointment first.

  • I can listen to music with my headphone on an iPhone 4s but unable to hear it on the onboard speaker. This happens recently. What's wrong with my iphone 4s?

I can listen to music on my headphone, but not on the speaker. Please help.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup and restore as new device.
If you have been through ALL these recommended steps and your problem persists, there's really nothing more you can do.  You'll need to bring your phone into Apple for service.
