My iPhone 4's running iOS 7.1.2 will not connect to wifi?

Both my iPhone 4 and 4s will not connect to my homes Wifi.  I'm aware that there are MANY different forums with the same question but I have tried everything from what i've seen and nothing has worked.  I also have an iPad and MBP that are connected to the wifi just fine.  I'm only curious because, well, if i'm not using Wi-fi, i'm using up Data.  I don't think this is a "take your phone to an Apple Genius Bar" type of problem because it has happened before on multiple occasions. I did nothing out of the ordinary to fix it before; it just simply worked again after an hour or two but it has been far longer than that this time.
Is there anyone else who has tried most, if not all solutions and found any ways to figure out what the exact problem could be?  I think it would be cool if apple could give us an error such as "Unable to join the network 'xxxxx' (Error:#000090)"  <--So that at least we'd have some type of idea of what's wrong.  No solutions have worked so far and it's becoming a hassle .  Thanks to any help.
Also, usually when it happens before it acts as if it's attempting to connect (spinning thing goes for about 5-6 seconds), but now it's like the exact moment I go to put my password in, it rejects me.  It all happened out of the ordinary, I left home for about an hour, came back, and this is what came to be.

Hey there Jachin W.,
It sounds like you are unable to connect to your home Wi-Fi suddenly on 2 different iOS devices. I would be interested to know if the affected phones are able to connect to a different Wi-Fi connection, but barring that I would use the following article to help troubleshoot the devices and the Wi-Fi connection:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
And this section from toward the bottom if needed:
Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings

I updated an iPod touch, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and all of them now will not connect to WiFi. They all give this wierd 404 error page from Apple and insist that I need to login to the network. What's the fix? None of the recommended fixes work in any of these devices. Reset device, reset network, renew lease, etc. None of them work.

    Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.1 it will not connect to the wifi network at work even though it recognizes it. It however still automatically connects to the network at home (this is the network I used to update the phone). My iPad however does not seem to have any problem connecting. I have restared the phone, toggled the router, re-entered the network password but there's still no connection.

When your device is trying to connect to the work Wi-Fi network, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then tap on the name of the Netowrk that she is having trouble with. Then tap on forget this network. Let the device attempt to connect again and make absolutely sure she is trying to connect to the work network and not a nearby network, then make absolutely sure the password is entered correctly.

my iphone will not connect to wifi no matter what HELP

Have you tryed to restore the iPhone too ?
Restore the phone in iTunes using a backup, and if needed as a new iPhone, without using a backup.  However, the greyed out WiFi is often due to a hardware failure requiring replacement of the phone.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • My new iPhone 4s paired with my iMac but it will not connect to transfer files by bluetooth. It says the iMac is not supported!

My iPhone 4s will pair sucessfully with my iMac, but it will not connect so that I can transfer files via bluetooth. It says "bluetooth network not available" or "iMac not supported". Just insane. What to do now??

I can't pair my iphone 4s with my imac.  It is very frustrating.  I can walk by anything resembling a  bluetooth and my iphone with pair...but not with my mac.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

  • Suddenly today both my iphone and ipad will not connect to wifi.. I have never had any problems before.  Please help.  Should I reset all my settings?  Should I reset network settings?  What should I do?

my iphone and ipad will suddenly not connect to wifi....
    Never had any problems before?
Should are reset all my settings?
Should I reset all network settings?
    Please help!

With any wi-fi network or with your wi-fi network?
If your wi-fi network, try resetting the wireless router and modem. Disconnect the wireless router from the power source followed by disconnecting the modem from the power source. Wait a few minutes followed by re-connecting the modem to the power source and allow the modem to completely reset before re-connecting the wireless router to the power source and allow it to reset with the modem before trying again.

  • IPhone will not connect to WiFi

My iPhone will not locate my wifi even though all other devices connect to it no problem. It's like the network isn't even there.
This happens every couple of weeks and I have to go to settings -> general -> reset -> reset network settings and then it works again. I guess this is a bug having to do with too many stored networks? Why doesn't apple fix it?
Today the usual solution didn't work and neither a hard reset.
How can I fix this? Thanks.

If no change after resetting network settings, try restoring your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after doing this, more than likely there is a hardware failure. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.

  • IPhone 4S iOS 6.1.3 will not connect to or even find any wifi networks, any ideas?

I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.1.3 and therein started my wifi problems. At first the signal was just dropping out and I kept getting the "Unable to join..." message, which was annoying but it had periods of time where it worked fine and gave me some hope. Since yesterday my phone has not actually identified any of the available wifi signals (not just my router, but also any other networks when I've been out and about) and so I am unable to join any as I cannot even see them to select them.
    I have tried:
    - changing the channel on my router
    - turning my router off and on again
    - turning my phone off and on again
    - plugging my phone into the computer and making sure it was updated (I did this yesterday which may have made it worse as that's when the problem intensified?)
    - resetting my phone by holding down the home and power button
    - resetting the settings on my phone (numerous times)
    - changing the WPA2 settings on the router
    - checking that I have got the wifi turned on
    - setting my iPhone to "ask to join" wireless networks
I would suspect something fishy with the router, except that my husbands iPhone is still working fine (he has not yet updated his iOS), my MacBook and his laptop are still connecting fine, as is the PS3 and the wireless printer. I went out today to a place with an open wifi network and my friend with an iPhone 4S (*not* updated to iOS 6.1.3) could see it and connect to it, but my phone didn't even pick it up and we were sitting right next to each other. There are 10 wifi networks in the vacinity of my house which my MacBook and husbands iPhone can see but my phone is now not seeing any of them. This HAS to be something on my phone, but I can't ruddy well work out what it is and meanwhile I am going to get charged loads for using up my data allowance. The only good thing so far about having all this faff is that when I updated to 6.1.3 my phone wouldn't send any photos to anyone unless it was via iMessage and since I've been changing all the settings I found one that works, so I have been able to send my mother in law some pictures of her granddaughter. My own parents will be getting upset by the lack of wifi though as I don't want to FaceTime them using my 3G.
Any help would be most appreciated.

    Hi JimHdk,
I have also upgraded to ios6.1.3, and facing same wifi connecting problem, after upgrade my iphone3gs is not connecting to my laptop shared wifi, which was working perfect with ios6.1.2,

    Updates:
Earlier wifi connection which i was using on my Iphone 3gs, was WPA2, which was shared from my laptop via "Microsoft virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter", was working perfectly till ios6.1.2, but when i have upgraded my iphone 3gs to ios6.1.3, my iphone 3gs became unable to join wifi,
Today I have created "adhoc network"  on my laptop using "Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n"(default wifi adapter of my laptop), and kept security type "WEP", and found my wifi working fine with my iphone 3gs,

  • IPhone 4s IOS 6.1.3 will not connect to 2011 BMW 328XI

    Hello,
I recently updated my iPhone to IOS 6.1.3.  Everything appears to be working except I can no longer play music through my iDrive system.  The phone connects fine to the stereo in my other car and can be controlled from the stereo head unit.  I can also connect it to my home stereo through the headphone jack and that works flawlessly as well.  When I connect it to my iDrive usiing the Y USB cable, the external devices just says not connected and nothing happens.  I have tried reseating the cable and also cleaning the 30 pin connector on the phone but no luck.  Has anyone had this happen?  Should I just assume the cable has now gone defective and replace it?
    Thanks!
