My Iphone 4 S will not unlock from previous network. O2 says they have unlocked it.

Itunes will not complete the unlocking process.

Hi Guys, thanks for your replies and suggestions. I had bought the phone from my nephew as he had upgraded to an Iphone 5. It has come to light (after many days of strife, frustration, and visits to various mobile phone shops, without success). The Iphone must be unlocked from the original Itunes account IE the original owner of the phone, not the person who buys it. I hope this information will be helpful to others who find themselves in this situation in future. None of the staff at the O2 or Vodaphone shops or online support could tell me why the phone would not unlock. The message I was getting on the phone was telling me the phone could not be unlocked at this time and try again later. If problem persists contact customer services (Apple.....good luck with that one with a second hand phone over a year old).                                                                                                                                                                                      My phone has now been unlocked by my nephew after a whole load of hassle Thanks Guys. Paul.
That has always been the case, the original owners needs to unlock the phone thru the carrier.  One of the qualifications is that you have use the carrier service.

    Hello dthlah,
Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like your Wi-Fi option on an iPhone 4S is greyed out. The following article explains this issue and potential resolution:
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
    2. Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings
    3. Ensure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
    4. If your issue is still unresolved, perform a software restore in iTunes.
If you are still unable to turn Wi-Fi on, please contact Apple for support and service options.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • 7525 Wirelessly connected, loses internet connection, will not print from wireless network

Have a 7525 Photosmart printer (approx 7 months in service) that has been working great until now.  I had to change the dsl/wireless router over the weekend and now I can't print wirlessly from the network.  According to the printer diagnostics, the printer is connected to the network but each time I try to print, the computer being used can't find the printer.  Checking the Wireless Network Test Results page, all is fine except there is no internet connection.  Restoring the internet connection requires a 're-boot' of the printer, i.e., switching it off and unplugging, after which network printing is restored.  However, that only lasts for a very short time, less than 1 minute, then no more network printing.
I think there is something fishy with the IP address.  HP Print and Scan Doctor can't find the printer using this address. Typing the IP address into the browser gets an error message that the page cannot be found.  That address should lead you to the printer page, but it does not.  Changing the router resulted in an IP address change for the printer, but I wasn't even able to manually set the IP address via HP troubleshooting as it required the ability to get to the printer page from the IP address.
I am rambling on, but I have reached my knowledge limit and hope that someone can give me some other suggestions on what to try next.    Thanks

Hi Seenders and welcome to the HP Forum,
I understand that you are having connection issues with the printer on the network. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. In this document for Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection are different solutions that may resolve your connections issues. Once you have the printer up on the network make sure you update the IP Address on your computer.
I hope this information is useful. Let me know how it works out.
    Thank you,

  • My iphone 4 will not connect to the internet is says i have no plan, but i do.

My iphone says i have no internet plan, but i do. I called sprint and we tried everyway to make it work and it wouldn't.  It still says 3g on top but it just won't connect.  The only way it connects is if i connect to wifi.

    Try resetting:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost
Try going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

  • I update my ipad regularly, but now it will not finish the syncing as it says i have run out of memory but i have 14gs left??

i update my ipad regularly, but now it says it will not finish as there is no more memory left. But i still have 14gb spare on it?

The memory you exhausted may not be on your iPad.  It might be in iTunes (your computer) or iCloud.

  • My Iphone will not open from on/off switch, we just have the iphone apple on screen and that is all, this does not turn off either?

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone can give me advice in my iphone5 which I have just got. Have you tried resetting your device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Give it a minute and the "Slide to Unlock" screen should redisplay.
Just curious - what "shop" did you get your advice from?
    Cheers,

  • My laptop has a new image on it and itunes will not let me sync my iPad say I have to deauthorize one of my 5 authorizations.  This laptop is one of the 5 but it no longer recognizes the iPad.  How do I deauthorize?

How do I deauthorize the laptop when the original image and itunes is gone?

If you've reached five authorizations for your iTunes Store account, there will be a button in your Store account information that will allow you to deauthorize all systems associated with that account. Log into your Store account and you should see it. You can then reauthorize the computers you're using now.
    Regards.

  • The volume logo will not go from my iPad 3

The volume logo will not go from my screen even though I have not pressed it

Did you try restarting or resetting the iPad?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • My iPhone will not charge when I plug it first, I have to unplug it and when I plug it again, then it charges

My iPhone 4 (GSM) will not charge when I plug it first, I have to unplug it and when I plug it again, then it charges... It is very weird... Has this happened to anyone?
Thank you in advance for the answer.

It is yet happening to me. In my case it happens when I plug it to any kind of charger: socket, car... I have to pull it out the phone and plug it in again so it reacts and starts charging.
Of course, I tried cleaning with a soft, dry brush. This had no effect.
    Thanks again and best regards.

  • HT201401 My iphone will NOT unlock with my CORRECT passcode.

My iphone will NOT unlock with my CORRECT passcode.  I can't even backup and restore on itunes because it's locked.  What can I do?  Does anyone have experience with this and know how to fix it?

    iOS- Understanding passcodes
A Complete Guide to Recover Your iDevice if You Forget Your Passcode
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
