That has always been the case, the original owners needs to unlock the phone thru the carrier. One of the qualifications is that you have use the carrier service.

Have a 7525 Photosmart printer (approx 7 months in service) that has been working great until now. I had to change the dsl/wireless router over the weekend and now I can't print wirlessly from the network. According to the printer diagnostics, the printer is connected to the network but each time I try to print, the computer being used can't find the printer. Checking the Wireless Network Test Results page, all is fine except there is no internet connection. Restoring the internet connection requires a 're-boot' of the printer, i.e., switching it off and unplugging, after which network printing is restored. However, that only lasts for a very short time, less than 1 minute, then no more network printing.
I think there is something fishy with the IP address. HP Print and Scan Doctor can't find the printer using this address. Typing the IP address into the browser gets an error message that the page cannot be found. That address should lead you to the printer page, but it does not. Changing the router resulted in an IP address change for the printer, but I wasn't even able to manually set the IP address via HP troubleshooting as it required the ability to get to the printer page from the IP address.
I am rambling on, but I have reached my knowledge limit and hope that someone can give me some other suggestions on what to try next. ThanksHi Seenders and welcome to the HP Forum,

Once you have the printer up on the network make sure you update the IP Address on your computer.

Try resetting:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost

My daughter forgot the passcode for her ipod touch device. She is completely locked out. I tried plugging into our computer and itunes and clicking restore. I keep getting a pop up saying itunes cannot restore because I am not connected to the internet. My internet connection is fine! Please help! The memory you exhausted may not be on your iPad. It might be in iTunes (your computer) or iCloud.

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone can give me advice in my iphone5 which I have just got. SofiaHave you tried resetting your device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Give it a minute and the "Slide to Unlock" screen should redisplay.
Just curious - what "shop" did you get your advice from?

If you've reached five authorizations for your iTunes Store account, there will be a button in your Store account information that will allow you to deauthorize all systems associated with that account. Log into your Store account and you should see it. You can then reauthorize the computers you're using now.

Did you try restarting or resetting the iPad?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
My iPhone 4 (GSM) will not charge when I plug it first, I have to unplug it and when I plug it again, then it charges... It is very weird... Has this happened to anyone?
Thank you in advance for the answer.It is yet happening to me. In my case it happens when I plug it to any kind of charger: socket, car... I have to pull it out the phone and plug it in again so it reacts and starts charging.
Of course, I tried cleaning with a soft, dry brush. This had no effect.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). 1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
