My Iphone 4 says "No Service" I've sleep and away, rebooted, restarted network setting, taken the sim card out.. what else can I do? or do you think it is a hardware issue and I have to go to apple?
It very well could be a problem with your carrier. But try turning the phone off and on and even take out the sim card. Then put the sim card back in and power it up again.

Find my iphone says location service disabled but there is a green dot next to it. What does that mean?
it means the phone is online but the locational services have been disabled.

settings>locational services>find my iphone>on
find my iphone is the last option in locational services. -

Iphone says no service , other phone on same plan works, why ?
My Iphone 3G( no S) all of a sudden says No Service, and will not work to make calls. The other phone I have on the same plan is working fine. I tried to update software on the phone and it says it can not find the server. It has been a while since I updated the software because I seem to always get an error or time expired message. Thank you !A couple of things can cause this. The SIM may not be seated well, or the phone would need to be reset. If you haven't, turn the iPhone off/on and check. If that doesn't help, then reset the phone. That is accomplished by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the iPhone reboots, try it. If that doesn't help, you may need to do a restore.
If you are having issues with updates and connecting to the server, that can often be explained by your Internet connection. An intermitent, or slow connection can cause this, as well as problems with anti-virus software. You may need to temporarily disable any anti-virus software to complete an update. Issues with a file called "host" on your computer can also cause issues. If you can locate it, open it with a text editor and remove any references to Apple, reboot the computer and try again.
If those don't help, make sure you copy down the exact error message and share that with us and we can see if we can help more. -
My Iphone says No Service then shortly after will turn off then back on.
Ive had this iphone for about 2 years. It is in perfect condition. i was using it all day the day it started messing up. I was taking pictures and i was uploading them to facebook. My facebook became slow and not working right so i restarted my iphone and all of a sudden in the corner it says NO SERVICE. I wasnt really trippen about it because i have a prepaid sim card in it that i havent paid in 2 months or so. But it shortly turned off and turned back on by itself. It was doing that until the battery died all the way. That was when i got kinda scared.
Today i plugged it into Itunes and restored it. it still says no service. but it hasnt turned off yet. Im waiting for it.
Can anyone tell me why its doing this?
PS. I absolutaly have not dropped it in water so it cant be water damage.Hello,
Is it really an iPhone 3G with iOS 5.1? I thought it was no longer supported.
I had that occurred to me before but I restored it from an existing backup and the problem went away. If you could, you can try and upload your crash logs from ios 5+ and see what is causing the restart.
If there is nothing to lose (e.g. Data), then you can see if a full restore (e.g. Set it to factor settings) will help. Below is a link:

You may need to get a new SIM from ATT for the iPhone in order for it to successfully activate in iTunes.
When you first plugged in to iTunes, you should have been prompted to activate the phone. Instead, it sounds like your phone is being recognized as a "Touch" since it let you sync music to it. -

I apologise for being negative. once I would have jumped to defend Apple too, but those days are over.
I have spent £600 on a product that I am going to have to sell at a loss of £300, having spent many previous hours trying to get it to work, plus a 70 mile round trip to my nearest apple store. I estimate the lost income and depreciation overall to have cost in excess of £600.
I have tried 4 sim cards on two networks (having moved from the phone network that I'd been on for 20 years in a desperate attempt to find a solution) in 3 iphone 5's, all with the same problem
And the final insult is that Apple no longer bothers to assit me; they don't return my calls or emails; nothing
I love everything else about the phone, so I've just installed the new software version and hope that will fix it. Otherwise my Nexus 4 arrived in the post today, so I will start using that if I get the problem again
I used to love Apple but they have let me down.
My reason for posting on these forums was to warn people that it is not your phone, it is EVERY iphone 5 that has the problem. Therefore don't waste your time getting a replacement.

Why is my iPhone saying No Service?
My iPhone suddenly stopped connecting to the Verizon Network. I can only use features via WiFi. It just says Searching and then eventually No Service.
Try rebooting the phone
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears then let both buttons go and wait for the phone to restart. -
I have even reinstalled ios twice and still it does not change the situation. What could have happened. My sim works fine in any other 3g device.

I updated my iphone and when it came time for activation it won't work and keeps telling me to try again. At the top it says "No Service" and I have my SIM card in and a good WiFi connection and have connected it through iTunes but it says I have no SIM card and need to disconnect and insert my SIM. I don't understand why this keeps happening and it's been going on for a wile now. I have tried over and over again to get this iPhone to work but nothig is happening. I've even gone on the website for support (apple.com/support) but cannot find anything that will help me with this situation. Can someone please help me find a solution to this problem? I have been without a phone and do not have money to buy another one and it is crucial for me to get it fixed. Thanks.

What computer operating system is involved in the Premiere Elements 11 and 13 issues? Same computer or different ones? Are you installing from purchased download installation files or from purchased installation disc? Does Premiere Elements 11 work completely on this computer whereas 13 will not?
Let us go through the typical drill so as to take nothing for granted.
1. Does the problem exist with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? Are you working with an individual home computer or in a
school or company network?
2. Are you running the program as Administrator and is there any "domain" account involved?
3. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
4. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on the computer with Premiere Elements?
Let us start by ruling in or out any of the above, and then we can decide what next.

I just got an iPhone 4 and I'm trying to use it on the t mobile network. The thing is, I've tried restoring the phone so I could use it. I haven't tried my sim on other phones yet. But I will try to see if it works. The iPhone is supposedly factory unlocked btw. Anyways, when I put in my tmobile sim, it searches for the service, but it always ends up saying NO SERVICE. I checked that my network says that the "phone not allowed". So I don't have 3G on this phone I presume. I heard that you need 3G to have service is that correct? But how do I resolve it? The iPhone does know that my phone carrier is tmobile. It just says no service. And I've tried restoring it three times and turning it off and on and it won't work. I don't have a data plan for tmobile tw! Hopefully someone can help! Thank you so much in advance!
If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. So A few things occurred, I returned my Iphone 5 because of a defect in the sleep button last week, and then just got it back Monday. I went and got a new Sim Card activated at the AT&T store since the other was deactivated by rep on phone.(long story) Went home upgraded the phone to ios 8 and have my phone constantly searching for service or saying no service. I have done all trouble shooting on apple support and even had another sim card replace. Yesterday I updated to ios 8.2 and guess what it didn't do any good. AT&T stated last week my tower was having probs but the issue was fixed but lte had degrated and was still being worked on, I have not stayed in my city so I don't think that is the issue, I have no idea what to do now. Any suggestions?
My partner had this issue on the iPhone 6 a few days after moving from Windows phone. The move was seamless then no service at all. He called the service provider, they reactivated his phone/sim/whatever and it worked. Then, he had terrible signal issues, 1 bar in the house, the final problem was resolved by purchasing the 4G LTE Microcell. Now, even I have the best service I've ever had since 3G (I know, not saying much though FULL BARS NOW!)
