My iphone 4 stopped sending imessages and can't receive replies from other iphones

My iphone 4 doesn't seem to send imessages all of a sudden. They show up green like normal messages. It also doesn't accept replies from other iphones.

Go into Settings>Messages>iMessage and see if it is activated. If it shows that it is on, then turn off for a couple of minutes, then turn it back on. Make sure that it activates. iMessage requires an active Internet connection to work, so make sure that you have either cellular data turned on, or you are connected to Wi-Fi.

Greetings everyone, I am knew to this, but all of a sudden my Macbook Pro 13" stopped sending iMessages and claims that my iContacts are not registered with iMessage. HELP PLEASE!

O I guess my question was too long. To reiterate, my Macbook stopped sending iMessages and states that my fellow iContacts are not registered with imessages. My phone is dead and I need to get a hold of a couple of people, but can't due to this problem. HELP!

Have you checked that MMS messaging is switched on in the Phone Settings? Even if you thought it was, settings sometimes get changed. The only other suggestion is to talk to your network provider about it.

Devour - Can't Receive Texts from other Carriers

Lately i've been having issues with receiving texts from other Carriers. I've already reset my phone multiple times, both hard and soft. All applications were deleted, i deleted conversations, wiped all conversations, re-texted the person, and tested who gets what.
Basically in a nutshell,
T-Mobile, i can occasionally get texts from.
Sprint, AT&T, Virgin, and any and all subsidiaries of forementioned carriers send replies i cannot get.
Every carrier can receive my message. i cannot receive theirs.
Verizon does work - for send and receive.
voicemails do work, i can leave one, and they can call me.
i've tested every method suggested over and over. im at the end of my rope. My job requires that my phone can receive messages from the employees and bosses, and all of them aren't Verizon-based. Somebody, please help. No, getting a new phone isn't feasible, and all my other phones are broken, except this one...and this was the first phone i actually owned three years ago.

I switched from my iPhone 4s to a Droid and I do not have that phone anymore. I can not recieve texts from anyone with an iPhone and can not get in contact with my girlfriend or siblings now. I think their phones are trying to send their texts as iMessages to my phone that does not recieve iMessages. How can I just delete my Apple account and recieve texts again?

Sounds like you didn't turn of iMessage on your iPhone before making the switch. If you registered your iPhone with Apple using a support profile, try going to https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do and unregistering it. Also, try changing the password associated with the Apple ID that you were using for iMessage.

Disabled iMessage, now can't receive texts from iPhone users.

My sister-in-law has been going over her data plan, and we determined that iMessgae has been playing a role in this. Even though iMessage provides free text messaging, it still uses data and my SIL took advantage of her unlimited texting plan back when it was sms. thoudands of messages. So now that iMessage was introduced she has been going over her 2gb data limit. iMessage is not the sole reason, but at 300-500 mb a month in message data. Reducing that will help.
I instructed her how to diaable iMessage so all texts are send and received as SMS/MMS. She can send sms messages fine, but when someone tries to respond from an iPhone with iMessage, she doesn't recieve them. What do we need to do to fix this?

To resolve issues with sending and receiving SMS, follow these steps first
Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
Verify that you have a cellular network signal in the status bar at the top left of your iPhone. Learn more about troubleshooting no service if there's no signal.
Restart your iPhone.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
Reseat your SIM card.
If you are still unable to send or receive SMS, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact who's trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that you are using the area code with the contact's phone number. When sending messages internationally, you also need to use the contact's international code.
If using a "Pay as you go" SMS plan, it needs to have enough available balance. Contact your carrier if you're unsure of your SMS plan or the available balance.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact from the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your iPhone as new.
If your carrier has recently ported your phone number, the porting process may not be complete. Contact your carrier to confirm that the porting process is complete.

Disable iMessage as can't receive texts from iPhone users on new Android phone

I have done everything I can find online about this:
Deleted/unregistered the device from my profile
Changed my password
Changed the number to 000000000 on my iPhone
Switched iMessage off on my iPhone
Deleted the device from my iCloud account.... HELP.
When I call apple I can't speak to someone it says I need to pay £25 as I do not have cover. Really?! Is there another number I can call? Any help appreciated. Will it work eventually? Hi zara343, I had a similar problem. I have a iphone and my daughter changed from iphone to android. We couldn't receive text messages to each other, she had no other problems with her other contacts, just mine. It was driving me crazy. My phone kept recognizing her android as an iphone. Yes I turned iMessage off and yes I could receive my daughters messages, but my two other daughters and a few friends had iPhones, so I didn't get their messages. My problem is now fixed, I tried to send a message to my daughter and it came up undelivered, so I pressed the red exclamation mark to the right of the undelivered message and it gave me the option to try again, send as a text message or cancel. So I pressed send as a text message and my daughter received it, I tried again and message undelivered, so again I pressed the exclamation mark and went through the same process as before. I thought what a pain but did a third and now my iphone does not recognise her phone number as an iphone. So your husband would have to do this with his iphone and I am confident it will work, and me as an iphone user can keep iMessage switched on. Hope this helps.

I recently swapped an iPhone for an Android phone, however since then I can no longer receive messages from iPhones as they are sent as iMessages? Could anybody provide details of how to stop this?

Call Apple Support. They have a procedure that can unregister your Apple ID from iMessage and the phone number, as long as you can still receive regular text messages at the phone number on a non-iPhone.

Can I receive pictures from other from through bluetooth on Iphone?

I was recently trying to send and receive pictures from my Nokia N73 to my Iphone, but my N73 keep saying that it can not be sent. Is that a problem with my N73 or iphone is not design for receiving anything through Bluetooth.

You do need to have an iPhone on the same Wifi network though. But any call from any phone (does not need to be an iPhone) that can come in to your iPhone, can be picked up on a supported iPad or Mac.

Had exactly the same issue, and i've sorted this out now. It IS Apple's responsibility to deactivate this function, and simply switching their imessage off on a handset will NOT work.
Whatever apple did, they effectively released my number (read: t-mobile's number) from their messaging / OS framework's grip.

You will need to contact apple support according to my solution.
Whatever it was they did, and i can guarantee that they did SOMETHING to release my (t-mobile's) number from their ecosystem, even though they did not specify step two (whatever they did after instructing me to deactivate imessage on their handset - which i explained i had already done), it has now returned my SMS delivery and receipt status to normal, and i can send and receive to everyone and anyone in my Contact List.

Sorry, I meant, you can set up iMessage to delete the messages after a certain time ( 30days, one year) or choose to keep them indefinitely. This can be set up in Settings/Messages.
Also check if you activated "send as text if iMessage is not available".
What happens if those certain contacts are sending iMessages to your phone? Are they marked with the blue bubble as iMessages?

My new ipad cant send imessage and use facetime

Hi everyone. My new ipad cannot send using imessage. Facetime won't work either. It has the same email ad as my imessage in iphone but i already turned it off and it still won't work. It only happend to me just now, i've been using it with for a month with my iphone. Before it was working with my iphone. I do not know why it wont send imessage and facetime right now. But other internet related apps work like safari and appstore and social networking sites.

I already fixed my imessage and facetime. I changed the DNS setting of my wifi. Maybe you can try it too. Go to the wifi then press the arrow on the right side, look for the DNS portion and change it to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4. I hope that will work on you too.
