My iphone 4 stopped working with my ihome ip90

I got my iHome ip90 last July and I got my iPhone 4 this March. At first I had no issues with the iHome but recently I've been having issues. My iPhone displays the pop up "This accessory is not supported by iPhone" and once it does that the sound is disabled on my phone and I have to turn it off and on. However, it does charge the phone, but the phone has to be in a certain position, but it will not play music. I updated the software on my phone to the most recent update yesterday thinking it would help. Also, my sister got the white iPhone 4 yesterday and I tried hers and it does a very similar thing, although I don't think it muted it. Any help!?!?! I'm so frustrated!!!

They gave me two options - first to reset the unit by taking out the batteries, unplugging it and letting it sit for an hour, then trying it again. If it still didn't work, they said the dock might be damanged. If that is the case, I should try to return it to the store (I only purchased it a week ago). If they won't take it back I will have to send it in to the iHome company to have it repaired or replaced.
Pretty lame for $100.

I have another iphone 4s and it still works with the ihome and I have an ipad and it works with the ihome so I am confident that the problem is not the ihome. iPhone 4 stopped working with ios 6.1, visited apple first time, restored phone and worked, less than 24 hours later stopped working again, back to the store, I told iPhone is out of warranty and they'll replace for $150. iPhone worked fine with previous version, no problem at all. Asked to restore to the previous software version, told can't be done. Why should I pay for a damage caused by a software update. Tec claims that ios 6.1 will not work with my phone because it discovered some hardware malfunction, possible the home button. They can't repair. suggested to go to a third party. I'm a satisfied Apple product user for many years. What happened? Any welp out there?

Hey.. I have had this issue since yesterday afternoon.. Some people are saying to keep restoring again and again until it finally goes through.. I have done so like 10 times on my MAC and then I used my husband's PC and tried it 4 times.. No success.. I called apple support, but no help came from there at the end, and the only thing they were able to suggest to me is to sell me a new phone just like mine for a discounted price.. **** NO

That will only make it possibe to go backward.. You will end up back with the IOS 5, but at least you will have a working phone and it will bring back all your contacts and everything else that you ever had backed up on icloud and on your computer. There might be descripencies with the Applications but again this is an issue easily solved, you can always download them back.
Two more things: One, you do not have to download the old version of the itunes, the newest version worked for me without any issues
When choosing to download the older IOS 5.1.1, you will need to figure out whether your carrier is GSM or CDMA but you can easily google this info online..

I dismiss the message, but the remote no longer works with it and the music is too quite to the speakers. The remote works fine with my Macbook Pro. I tried a restore on the iPhone and started from scrach, but the same problem exists.

I see that you are having IMessage problems. Some of the problems might be:
- Your friends IMessage is not activated (you have to activiate it with your apple id)
- Your IMessage is not activated

It sounds like your getting an error message that the iPhone isn't going to work with your Subaru all of a sudden over USB. I would use these troubleshooting steps from this article, named:
If you need help with iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch accessories
Update your software
Install the latest version of iOS. You can see which version is on your iPhone by going to the About screen.Disconnect and inspect the accessory, then restart your device
Disconnect the accessory and turn it off, if possible.
Inspect the connection between the accessory and device and make sure that no debris or other damage is present.
Restart your iOS device by turning it off, then back on. When the Home screen appears, reconnect the accessory.
Try a different device
Make sure the issue is with the accessory, if possible. Always use an identical or similar, compatible device with the accessory you're troubleshooting.
If there's static coming from the left audio channel when you use headphones, try connecting the headphones to a similar device.
If the device isn't syncing when connected to the dock, connect it directly to the computer using the Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or try another USB port.
If you're using Lightning to 30-pin Adapter in a connection chain, try using the same adapter on a similar or identical device.
Restore iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Restore your iOS device. You should rarely need to use this step with an accessory issue. If the issue only affects a third-party accessory, contact the manufacturer before restoring the device.

Sounds like you inadvertently have the Add Anchor Point tool active. Click and hold to get the full selection and choose the "regular" Pen tool at the top. (Or, just tap the P key.)

I have the same exact problem.
I put an iPod shuffle on the Bose system, it plays just fine.
My iPhone 4s works just fine connected to my car stereo.
My iPhone 4s on the Bose will charge, it "thinks" it's playing, song shows, time line shows it's playing, can pause if I touch the phone's screen.
The remote for the Bose WILL NOT pause it, forward to next song, etc. It does work with the iPod shuffle.
So it's not the Bose, it's not connections, it's the iOS 7.1.1
Everything worked fine before, any one else have suggestions?

Can someone please help. My IPhoneS stopped working right after I did the latest update which was yesterday. Now, the phone does not work at all. When turned on, the screen shows a picture of USB cable pointing to the ITunes logo. I have tried just about everything, and cannot get it working. It's like it is frozon. My ITunes does not recognize my device. Cannot dial out either. I desperately need to get it working. Can someone please help me.

The update did not do anything.
AT&T cannot and will not do anything, they do not provide support for iPhones, Apple does.
The issue is not with the iPhone or iOS if you've reset network settings and tried forgetting the Wi-Fi Network, it is specific to the network.
Check the settings on the router, try disabling the security settings first... that will clarify the issue is not with the device but rather the Network.

After installing Maverick on my macbook pro, imessage on my ipad and Iphone stopped working properly. Is there a fix/test.

What I get is a RED exclamation and "Not Delivered". It happens even if i resend it over and over.
I have made sure that the 3 devices all have the same settins in iMessage.
I have made sure to try doing it from the same network and from the cell provider network.
I have tried rebooting all three devices.
The only way to get it to work on my iphone and iPad is to dissable it in Mavericks on my MacBook Pro.
Is this a "feature" of the new OS?

On the iOS devices remove the Apple ID.
Set the device in to Airplane Mode (this breaks with the server)
Start with the iPhone to add back the Apple ID - only after you see the iPhone Number is Verified.
The Restart the Mac Version
Accept the pops ups that state what the iPhone is using.
Do same on iPad.

Ipod stopped working with iTrip

My iPod stopped working with my iTrip very mysteriously. I left it in the car for 2 hours (as I always do at work) and it worked when I left and wouldn't work when I went to drive home. I've replaced the iTrip and know that it works with another iPod (identical to mine and bought at the exact same time).
Does anyone know if there's way to fix this?

I just started having issues with my iPod as well. It is paired with my JVC receiver through an iPod adapter. I can normally control my iPod through the JVC once it is connected, but the last few days I have had to control it through the iPod itself. The screen on the receiver says connecting, but never does unless I do manually.( pressing play on the iPod). I can still see song titles, but no control. IE pause, next or previous songs. Nothing seems to work, and have treid powering both off then back on. Is this an update issue that wont let them pair anymore? I also tried a friends iphone and seemed to work fine with the JVC, so the receiver is not the issue.

It was working with no problem until i tried to test for it. I've checked all the configurationand everything seems fine!
I also test the app on a ipad friend to see if the problem was from de apple service but it worked. So i guess its something with my phone.

If you've tried a hard reset, etc. and you now suspect a failure with the device, you may want to walk it into the nearest Apple Store and ask for assistance there.

Can anyone give me any ideas? My Iphone stopped synching with my Itunes. I can see the phone on my computer but Itunes does not recognize it.

I have a similar issue with iTunes and my iPhone 5S (7.0.4). Of course this was after the most recent update to iTunes blew away iTunes and the forum here walked me through the process to get iTunes back. I used to be able to plug in my iPhone 5S to my PC and sync'ing worked flawlessly. Now it seems that either the new update to iTunes of this latest software update to the iPhone prevents the sync'ing of music ptoperly.
Of further note is the fact that when I would make a manual change to a playlist on the iPhone directly and then sync'd it with iTunes, the changes I made on the iPhone were wiped out. I don't know which is the problem but it seems that the 2 are not compatible.
After the issues I had (as many others had) with the latest update to iTunes, I won't update iTunes any time in the near future. I am sorry that I did and I am also sorry that I allowed the update to my iPhone happen a month ago.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
