My iPhone 4 suddenly died and wont turn on

my phone was at 90% and then suddenly turned off when I dropped it. After trying to turning my phone on the screen demanded to be charged and now it only shows the low battery icon and wont turn on or connect to my PC and iTunes.

Try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot. It could take up to 30 seconds of holding to get this to work. If it does not come on after that, it is very possible that your dropping it has damaged something causing the device to stop working. If the reset does not work, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar at Apple to get the device checked.

  • IPhone randomly shuts off and wont turn back on again.

    Hi,
I have a problem with my iPhone 4. It randomly shuts off and wont turn on again until i plug in the charger. This happens at least once a day and is extremly annoying and i can´t really use it anymore. I´ve tried a reset but with no results. Please help me out, thanks

    Hello again,
I know there been a while, but I just need to tell you this
I tried a restore and it didn´t work out. The same problem just continued and i started using and old phone instead. A couple of days ago I read something about ios6, and I thought: Why not try it on my iPhone that I don´t use? I installed ios6 and since then the phone have worked perfectly, except for one single hangup but then it was just to restart it. Ios6 beta 2 is actully really stable. I mean, now at least it´s a fully functional phone.

  • My iphone 5 died and wont turn

`     I got my iphone 5 not even a year ago in june. ive been having some trouble with it charging because its not the original charger. i used a friends original iphone 5 charger and it worked fine before. my phone died and i wasnt in acess to the original charger. the charger that i have been using that hardly works now completely doesnt charge my phone. i took it to the verizon store and they told me it was water damage, which it isnt bc i looked in the slot and the circle isnt red, its still white. i tried resetting by pressing home and lock button but still nothing. i bought a new verizon store brand charger and it still didnt work. they also tried to use an original iphone charger that was being used to display them in the store but not for long and the charging icon didnt pop up. do i need a new battery or charging port? someone please help!

Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. Get your lock button fixed then you can restore your phone.

  • I was charging my ipod 5 touch and it died and wont turn on

i plugged my ipod into the wall charger because it was about to die so i stayed on it but then my ipod died and i thought nothing of it i thought it probably died because i was on it so i waited a couple minutes for it to turn back on but it wouldnt but i just thought that it was so dead that i had to wait until it got enough charge to turn on so i took a 3 hour nap and woke up to see if my ipod turned on yet and it hasnt and so i started to panic and plugged my ipod into every wall outlet in my house and then i plugged my ipod into the computer and itunes wouldnt pop up and my ipod still says its not charging so i dont know if its the charger is broken and thats why its not charging or if my ipod went into recovery mode so can you help me?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    And maybe:
    Not Charge
    - See:

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My Iphone has gone black and wont turn on, what happened?

my phone was working fine an hour ago, fully charged and everything. Why wont it turn on now ?

    Hi lauraaashley88,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPhone wont power on and you've already tried to charge it, see the troubleshooting steps below. In your case I'd suggest starting with step 5.

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Best,
    Jeremy

  • My Iphone shut itself down and wont turn back on?

I broke my lock button about 2 months ago, and ive never had any problems. i used accesability touch to lock my phone, and sat in my living room. A little while later, i tried to open up my iphone by pressing the home button, and it wont turn back on. its completely black. I've tried plugging it up, ive tried plugging it up to my computer, but itunes doesnt even come up. i cant do a hard reset, because my lock button is broken. I dont want to get my lock button fixed, try to do a hard reset, and it turn out its a completly diffrent issue. Please try and help me solve this issue! I just got my iphone 4. I don't want a $250 dollar paper weight!

Charge it for 15 minutes with the wall charger, then hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons for at leat 15 seconds or until an Apple logo appears.
If that fails or nothing happens at all the phone is broken. If something happens (like any sort of screen display) but the phone does not restart within 5 minutes see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

My iPhone 4 shut off and I am not able to get it to turn on. Is there something I can do to troubleshoot it?

Assuming it's not a dead battery, hold Sleep/Wake button and Home button until the Apple logo appears.

Hi all, I'm using a Canon HG10 shooting HD AVCHD. I am pretty pleased with the new archive facility as it's helping save space, and I'm debating whether to edit in 960x540 or 1920x1080. The 1080 footage looks way better onscreen (to my eye at least)
