My iphone 4 suddenly went dead

My iphone 4 suddenly went dead :((( It just suddenly went dead, even though the battery still full, and I have tried hard reset but it still won't turn on :((((

Violet I'm sorry to hear that. Do you know if the device has any liquid damage or anything that may have caused it to just die and not come back on? Toggle on and off the vibrate switch on the said and see if the device vibrates? If it does then take it in for troubleshooting purposes at an Apple store.
Have you tried a hard reset of the device? By holding the home button and top button at the same time for 10-12 seconds until an apple logo pops up then let go of the home button and see if that fixes the issue.
Hope this helps.

  • My Iphone 5 suddenly went completely offline and dead.

My iPhone 5 suddenly went completely offline and dead.  It was charged; I plugged it in to the charger anyway and it will not respond at all...it stays dark.  The bluetooth in the car did not recognize it either.  I removed and reinserted the simcard, but no change.  Help!!  Thanks.

I got the answer...Press the on/off and sleep buttons simultaneously and hold until the apple icon comes on

  • The calendar on my iPhone 4s suddenly went blank and says NoEvents anywhere. What happened and how do I get the information back?

The calendar on my iPhone 42 suddenly went blank and says No Events. How do I get my data back?

I've been having the same problem every 3-4 months: the calendar app seems to hang up, I either reset the app/phone or wait it out, then presto! all internal calendar entries have been deleted. Unlike others in this thread and elsewhere, I am not using iCloud.
Interesting fact: while following the suggestion to hide all calendars, then show all calendars, I noticed that the internal calendar option is MISSING. It's like it just doesn't identify that there ever WAS an internal calendar. Really? Argh.
Apple Support: are you guys monitoring this? I've seen a few similar postings, so I don't think we're alone...
Granted, I have more than a few entries - years of calendar/appointment history have been imported from my old Palm Treo. Thanks to slow performance and odd calendar app crashes, I am very well aware that the iPhone's calendar isn't nearly up to the task of handling this many entries, and have been working to get the quantity of entries down. I must be up near some threshold, as response time seems to have improved with several deleted entries, though it was just before the crash+data loss.
Fortunately, I try to sync with my Outlook calendar nightly, so I do have a backup. However, this type of data loss and instability re VERY painful for those that actually USE and practically LIVE by their calendars. Here's hoping I can remember today's entry modifications...
One additional complaint: WHY can't I edit a recurring appointment WITHOUT it creating a NEW one? Crazy... For all the things this smartphone does well, it does several things VERY stupidly.

  • My daughter's IPhone 5c suddenly went black.

My daughter's IPhone 5c suddenly went black and won't power back up.  She took it to the Verizon store, and they could find no physical damage to explain it.  I tried a holding the on button and home button at the same time, but nothing happened.  Any suggestions?

    Hi acoan,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to resolve this issue where your daughter's iPhone 5c will not power on, I'd like you to please follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • My ipad2 suddenly went dead, total blackout!

My ipad2 suddenly went dead today, i knew i still have about 40% battery life left, so shouldn't be the battery problem. I wasn't able to on the ipad back, none of the buttons work, the screen was totally blackout. I tried recharge, no response at all. So i gave up and thought of sending it to Apple service centre tomorrow. But when i flipped open the smart cover 2-3 hours later to check on it, my ipad is alive again, with the normal screen back on. i played a game and after i closed the apps, the screen freezes with the music still running in the background. I press the on/off button together with the home button for a few second to reset and it's back to normal again! What just happen?

  • HT201412 my Iphone 4 just went dead without warning and is not getting started even after putting it up for charging. Any Suggestions guys???

    Hi
I have an Iphone4 and i am living in SA.
Today in the morning, my Iphone4 just went dead without any warning.
It is in this dead mode even after i tried charging it.
If i connect it to itunes, i find that the itunes is unable to detect the iphone.
And to my disappointment, i believe there is no apple store in SA.
    Any suggestion guys???????

    Try a reset:
    - hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time for atleast 15 seconds
    - if you see the Apple logo appear rlease both buttons
If that fails try charging the iPhone while plugged into the wall adaptor and also while plugged into the computer. Try cahrging both ways for atleast 15-20 minutes. Also while its plugged into the computer check and see if the computer or iTunes will recognise that the iPhone is connected.

  • I just bought an iphone 4 and it suddenly went dead. Even after pressing the lock and back button for 30seconds also it did not work!

    Helpp! Phone not working!!!

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo come back again?
Can you try another USB cable?

  • Iphone 3gs suddenly, totally dead for no apparent reason

No idea what happened- didn't drop it, get it wet, etc. Battery was probably about half charged. Turned it off, now won't charge, or go back on, and isn't recognized by itunes. Could the battery have just quit suddenly? Never had anything like this happen.

Have you tried resetting the iPhone?
This can be done by pressing and holding the On/Off Sleep/Wake button on the top of the phone and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Try this then come back to us..

  • From Nabil Houlika Germany. Please help me by answering the following questions. The Time Capsule suddenly went dead. What should I do? Is there a way to put it "ON" again??

Yesterday the time capsule light went off. All efforts to put it on again failed. All electric connections are in good order and working perfectly. Please help me.

    Hi again,
I called them this morning. Admits my allergies and sneezing I was able to talk to them.
They will replace it with basically no questions asked.
I guess also having a MBP under AppleCare also helped too as the case is registered under that.
They gave me a few options.
The could take my credit card number as insurance and send me a new one and them I send them my dead one back, or I could take it into an Apple Store for a replacement there. The problem is that I have data on there that I want to maintain, so they said take it to the Apple Store or an Apple Service provider and they would handle the transfer.
I don't have an Apple Store in my city, but have a Service Provider that I know that could do the transfer for me, but I kinda want to do it at the Apple Store because maybe then they would give me a new one instead of another w year tombstone.
So I need to weigh my options.
I'll let you know further what happens.
P.S. my serial number was not in the range listed, but that didn't seem to make a difference. I think the key is to be courteous, respectful and friendly.

  • IPhone 5S suddenly totally dead!!

My phone was on an hour ago and had plenty of charge and now it's dead and has no power at all. I'm still paying on this with att and totally blown away. Anyone else have this issue? Don't know what to do!! I even plugged it in just in case and nothing

First off, try holding down the home button and the wake/sleep button both at the same time for about 15-20 seconds (or until the Apple logo appears on the screen).  If that doesn't work, you can try contacting Apple.  It the phone is still under warranty, and it not water damaged, or damaged in any other way, they should be able to replace it for you for free.  If your warranty has expired, then you would be looking at an out of warranty repair, which would mean that they would replace your phone for about $200.  Now, if you have the insurance through AT&T, you could also file a claim against that and pay your deductible (about $200) and get a replacement phone too. The iPhone is made by Apple, so they provide app warranty service on it.  If you are still paying for the phone, hopefully you chose to purchase the Apple Extended warranty package as it extends the warranty coverage for up to 2 years from the date of the purchase, which would cover the terms of a contract subsidy, or most NEXT agreement terms.
