i didnt do anything to it and i dont know what happened i texted someone sat it down went to check the time and it wouldnt turn on i dont know what to do please help

Mine it's the same! Did you solve this already? Right before it turns off, it has a fade away screen or shows stripes! Then automatically turns back on! Now this problem happens more often!
I've reboot the iphone and restore it but still does the same.

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

if i hold down the lock button and home lock button nothing happens
it happens randomly
the only way it turns back on is a few minutes later by its self

btw its an iphone 4 and i got it at the end of aprilHmm.. I would probably start with a hard reset (hold down the home button + sleep/wake button until you see a silver apple logo, then release). This reboots the software and can often help with these types of issues. If you try the hard reset and the problem persists, the next step to try is to back the phone up to iCloud or iTunes, reset to factory settings, and restore from back up. Hope this helps!

Start by rebooting the iPad by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restart, ignoring the red slider if that appears. See if that helps.

IIf the battery was completely drained it might take some time before the phone will respond. Wait at least 30 minutes with the phone connected to the charger. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the phone starts up let it continue to charge until it's 100%.
if the broken button will not let you do the reset Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. -
