My Iphone 4 was charged all night but is saying it has no battery life

Ok this has happened many many times. I will have my phone plugged in to charge all night and when I wake up it says it has no battery. If I unplug it from the charger eventually it turns off and turns back on, that is in the past, and when it did, it would say the battery was fully charged. However, today it will not turn off. I have held down the home button and the button on top, held down the button on top, and unplugged it for over an hour so it would completely die. But nothing is helping. What causes my phone to do this? It is so frustrating. Please HELP ME!

You need to call your service provider, and ask them if your SIM card is activated.

Sometimes my iPad1 locks up and has the flat battery graphic after charging all night, but will not work until you disconnect the charger, then it reboots and the battery is fully charged and works normally.
It has only happened for the last month or so
Also, sometimes it drops out of apps, ie facebook etc. just like you have hit the stop button

Who replaced the battery? If it wasn't Apple the replacement is probably bad also. Either that, or the logic board is bad.

  • At 3 I click this morning I woke up to find my phone was baking hot, and was at 100%. No worries, I just unplugged it and went back to sleep. When I've woken up, 3 hours later, all my battery has gone. It did this yesterday also. Was charged all night.

At 3 I clock this morning I woke up to find my iPhone 4S was baking hot. Not a problem, I just unplugged it. When I woke up 3 hours later all of my battery had gone. It did this yesterday for the first time. It was on charge all night, I didn't use it all day but when I went to get it at 4.30pm it had died.

Sounds like you have corrupt backup data, if this occurs from one phone to another. Try restoring the phone as a new device, without a backup. Try using for a day before installing any other apps, etc. See if that improves the battery life. Then try syncing back applications a couple at a time. Something seems to be locking in the processor which is draining the battery.
Do you live in an area where there are Apple Stores? If so, try making an appointment with the Genius Bar to have the device checked out.

  • Can I leave an iPhone 5c on charge all night?

Hi, I have recently purchased an iPhone 5C and just have a few questions.
Does the phone have to be powered on for the alarm to go off?
If so, can I leave the phone on charge all night so my alarm will go off in the morning without causing any harm to it?

Correction: the alarm will go off if the phone is sleeping. If the phone has been turned off, that is you have done the "Slide to power off", then the phone is inert. Switched off is switched off. No power. The alarm will sound whenever the phone is powered up again.  It's easy enough to experiment.
Yes, the iPhone can be left plugged into the charger for a month if you like. It can look after itself.

  • My Iphone 6 getting off after fully charge I am charging all night but morning phone is off anybody can help

I phone 6 getting switch off after fully charge at night and one more problem in my home wifi is working good but in office wifi connection is keeping disconnect any body please help this is hardware problem or ios problem

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work correctly, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

  • Keep iPhone 6 Plus Charging All Night?

    Hi there,
I got my iPhone 6 Plus two months ago and it's amazing. I had a 4S before for a few months before upgrading. I'd like to know, after doing much research:
    1) I've read dozens of sites about how I should not keep it charging all the time. However, there are conflicting reports, so I'm going to ask here in the hopes that somebody can answer clearly. I currently use my iPhone with a JBL Dock (with speakers) as my alarm clock. Why? Because I use an app with sounds to go to sleep (it's very relaxing) and I like using the Wake app as an alarm. But is this detrimental to my iPhone? I've read so many different takes on it.
    2) How can I see how many cycles my iPhone battery has been through? And how can I check out the health? I want to confirm that charging it at 99% counts as a cycle or not. The battery is amazing and lasts a long time, but I want to just keep tabs on its degradation, if at all possible.
    3) I have read the Apple manual on it, but it isn't clear (at least on the web site). Any more info on the care of my phone would be greatly appreciated.
(I did read in a thread on here just a few hours ago that draining the battery all the way once a month, and then recharging it, is no longer recommended. Since I only did that the day that I got my iPhone, I feel very relived at not having done that again).
    Thanks for any information.

So it doesn't degrade the battery at all?
No, it doesn't.  If the device is at 80% or greater, then the charger drops to a 'slow charge', and then when at 99-100%, it drops to a 'trickle' charge.  That means it's not pushing too much power to the battery so it won't damage it.
Charging cycles by themselves will eventually degrade the battery.  But the design of the battery and the charger system minimizes that degradation.  While you might technically get more life out of the battery by only charging it when it is less than 100% and never charging it while it's at 99%+, the extension of life would be so minimal as to be almost pointless.  Compare that extension (maybe a few days, honestly?) to the convenience of being able to charge it whenever you want and not have to wait until it's fully discharged before charging it, and to me it's an obvious choice.
Add maybe 1% more total life of the battery compared to being able to easily avoid my device running out of power at an inconvenient time?  Easy decision.

  • Bought my iPhone 5 online, it needs repairs but apple says it has been replaced. will they still repair it?

Long story short the iPhone heated up and since then has random grey lines down the middle. It "controls itself" or won't work whenever those lines appear. Apple asked for the serial number however it says it has been replaced. I bought it online so i'm not too sure what to do now. will apple still repair it?

You can ask, but most likely answer is Apple will not repair it. That message
means the iPhone has been replaced and should have been turned back into
Apple, but it was resold instead. If you bought from eBay or other service that
offers buyer protection, start a claim for a refund unless the iPhone was described
    as replaced.

  • My iPhone 4s was working fine yesterday but today, the volume has stopped working entirely. A song will play for approximately 9 seconds and then will cut the sound completely. It has done this on YouTube, Music, and my ringer. How do I fix it?

My phone played music fine yesterday. Today, headphones plugged in or not, my music (including YouTube and ringer) stops working. The timer still counts up as though it is still working but the volume turns gray or not at all and the little circle volume control disappears. How can I get my music working again?

  • New iphone 4 working fine, then just went dead this morning. Its been charging all night. what's the problem?

Just got iphone 4 on tues.  It has been working fine. Made 1 phone call this morning. 30 minutes later tried to use the phone again and it would not turn on. What could be the problem. Phone was charging all night.

Sounds more like it might be frozen up.  Have you tried resetting it by holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for ~10 sec?

sounds like a hardware issue with the battery
    1. you can try different chargers if you have any
    2. while plugged in, Hold the Home+Power at the same time for about 20 secs, if the apple comes up then release both buttons
3.if that doesn't work you may have to go into Apple store
