My iphone 4 will not sync with my computer.
I am using USB cable to sync.
I had to format my computer because of a virus and now it will not sync.
Keeps saying applying changes step 3 of 3, then I am able to click sync again
I think the problem is the names of my computer are different now.
Anyone help me???
Hi, I have the same situation and failed to sync for the tenth time. Very frustrated, then by luck I tried to Authorize my phone inside Itune under "Store" Pull down menu and click "Authorize This Computer". You have to enter your Apple ID and password. I have tried couple of clicks then it work... Now I'm smiling chilling out with my music.... heweeee. Hope that will help....

My iphone 4S will not connect with my Macbook Pro since I updated to OS X 10.6.3. It says it is waiting for the computer to be available.
Did you update iTunes before this problem started? Maybe a security software conflict was created when you updated iTunes. If not, you may need to update iTunes for it to recognize the iPhone, since it was updated.
An easy thing you can try is restarting the iPhone. You can also try testing with another USB adapter cable.

I have uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled it. By bet is there is some sort of log file that needs to be deleted but...the question is if it show up as a camera device in windows?

Are you signed into iTunes on the computer with the same Apple ID the apps in question were "purchased" with? Is the computer authorized for that account?

I followed the instructions in those 2 articles. Still not able to see the device in ITunes. I reinstalled the latest iTunes and all updates to my iMac (Mac OSX ver 10.6.8). I tried 3 different USB Cables in different USB ports. Rebooting both the Iphone and IMac. Still nothing seems to be working. I searched the discussion boards and I see other people with the same problem but they seem to run into the same problems finding a solution. I dont understand what happened because this was working properly up until 2 days ago. Do you have any more suggestions?

Your best bet is to follow the steps described in this blogposts and open a bug:

After that, if you don't want to user Sync in your computer, you can stop it with this simple steps:
* At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options.

Treo 755 will not sync with my computer anymore
I have a Treo 755 (Palm os) and it will not sync with my computer anymore. I have a PC with Win XP pro SP3. The last time it sync'ed was about two months ago, I had to fiddle with the connection before it would work. Now when I plug the phone in and push the button, the computer chimes but that is all that it will do. After it times out the phone gives an error message. I am thinking that maybe it is the cable or phones contacts that are bad. (It has always been hard to unplug the cable from the phone). I have also tried reinstalling the software with no luck. How can I check the connections, is there another way to sync with my computer?
Post relates to: Treo 700wx (Telus Mobility)It said that the connection between my handheld and desk top could not be established. After I posted yesterday I looked though the web site and found were is said to blow out any dust from the terminals on the handheld so I did and it worked. This morning I tried it again and it will not connect. It must be one of the connections either on the handheld or on the cable. Is there a way of testing either? The computer is recognizing the handheld but it just will not communicate.

Restore. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -

If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
