My iphone 4 wont restore i have tried all day
I was using facebook and bam the screen literally faded away.
I tried turning back on but it froze at the apple logo. So i plugged into laptop and it appeared in itunes in recovery mode iv tried all day to
restore it but it fails with a error 14 code. Iv tried absolutely everything and to no avail im so annoyed im back using a standard nokia phone
What should i do? i think nothing will help at this stage only to send it in for repair..
Since Apple doesn't repair phones (they replace them), I have to assume you had someone else do it or did it yourself. They DO replace batteries, but they would not replace the dock connector.
It's impossible at this point to say what might be wrong. You can check ifixit.com and see if anyone there has any advice...
What you should have done is taken it to your local Apple Store. They could have replaced the battery for you for $69, or the entire phone for $149. Yes, the battery seems expensive, but it's far less expensive than a brand new phone.
You are no longer eligible for an out of warranty replacement from Apple.

IPhone apps not opening - have tried all the usual fixes
A few days ago I got my iPhone unlocked from my provider (Telstra) as I am about to travel and wanted to put a country specific sim in it. Since then no non-Apple apps have worked.
I have tried (many times) to :-
1. restore from a previous backup (plus multiple syncs) and using different backups
2. delete an app and reinstall it
3. download a new free app (and when that didn't work I deleted it and retried installing it)
4. sign in and out of the app store on the iphone
5. sign in and out of the app store on my iMac
6. de-authorise and re-authorise my iMac
7. wipe the iPhone clean and start with a fresh install
8. And reset the device too many times.
Nothing I have found on any site has worked. I thought the wipe the phone clean would have done it but it hasn't.I have wasted about 20 hours trying to get this thing working again.
If I wasn't going on vacation tomorrow I would be at my provider getting them to fix their mess but I can't.
Can anyone help? Please?

(Apps are active - just won't stay open)Further - the AppleId I am using is the one I first started with years ago - where all my music and app purchases have been made. Signing out of this AppleId and then signing in using my "me.com" address and downloading an app under this address allows the new app (and only the new app) to work. And it continues to work when I sign out and sign back in with the original AppleId.
This is really annoying as I have heaps of paid apps that aren't working. -

I was texting my friend and the screen just went black and wont turn back on again. I have tried leaving it plugged in, nothing. Tryed to connect to iTunes on my pc but that doesn't work either. I have also tried pressing the home and lock button and that doesn't work(ive heald it longer than the suggested time) its been broken a few months now and using my old 3gs. Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

Some one please help me. I have tried all day to download adobe flash 10.3 Nothing works.
I go through all of the required steps and get a message: Adobe Flash 10.3 successfully downloaded. You are now running AF 10.3. However I still can not view Youtube or any other internet clips. I continue to be told I need to upgrade and to download 10.3. I go through all of the steps again, but nothing works. Is there anyone here or at Adobe who knows how to fix this?
I cannot use Flash Player either. It appears to install correctly, but every site that uses flash player, keeps asking to re-install it. It is listed under manage add-ons v. 10.3.183.7 and is enabled. I am using a 32bit IE and 64 bit Win 7. I have downloaded the uninstaller and used it 10+ times, I tried other 3rd party installers/uninstallers and nada. I have installed this program 100+ times over the last few months. Its been extremeley frustrating, so I called Adobe callback support today 3 times only to have it disconnect on me when an agent finally appeared - go figure!
ActiveX filtering is enabled (i toggled this several times over the last few months)
I have tried several security levels all recommended by adobe sites.
Files in the /Windows/SysWOW64/Macromed/Flash directory are Flash10w.ocx, Flashinstall.log, FlashUtil10w_ActiveX.dll, FlashUtilw_activeX.exe, and install.tu
I thought something might have gotten corrupt in my registry, but on my 2nd computer, after a forced Adobe patch to 10.3 also, it also now doesn't work.
Seems like so many people are having problems with this version using Win 7 and there is so little information on how to correct the problems and the hints on the Adobe sites don't offer much in help.
I'm pretty close to just accepting that the flash player simply is broken and nothing I've done. -
hi, my iphone 5 has refused to restore after i updated it to ios7 ...... it will not turn on, it will not restore i do get an error 21 mesg and i have attempted a couple of fixes from the net, but nothing seems to work . i have no acces to my phone it just is dead whats my best option, do i need to send it to apple ?

Error 21 is part of a range of error codes generally indicating that other software is interfering with the restore process.

Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

someone lease help me with this. for the past two days i have been hitting my head for this !!
Glad they finally added a "Home Videos" tag, but wish that it was a compeltely separate category like Music, Movies, TV Shows. Still have all my home videos tagged as a "TV Show" with track numbers to keep them in order, disc number x of 12 to indicate the month, and season used to indicate the year. Has worked nicely for years but every new version of iTunes I hope (and have suggested) that they will separate this out.
A real way to maintain home movie metadata and organization would be much appreciated. Giving Home Videos as a tab within Movies is a start, but doesn't recognize the fact that these kinds of videos are completely different from "Movies." People scroll through or look for movies by name, home videos by date or event (more like iPhoto organizes things). Nobody wants to hunt for baby's first steps in a big alphabetical list somewhere between "The Avengers" and "Willy Wonka." -
I wanted to print out a label for the USPS mailing service and apparently Adobe Reader is required. I've printed out the label many times before without going this route, but USPS says it is now required. In trying to download Adobe Reader when I click on the download, it just won't take. what's going on. also, don't you have a phone number whereby customers can call you? most of the questions don't answer the questions.
Mozilla (like most developers of free software) doesn't provide phone support. This is our support channel.

I paid in advance for a year of photoshop and was able to download lightroom but the photoshop will not download .Any sugessions?
Sheilag44930607 do you receive any specific error messages when you try to install Photoshop? What version of Photoshop are you installing? Finally what operating system are you using?

It is usually given as a communication error between Apple, iTunes (your computer), iPhone. Somewhere they are not communicating, so the iOS you are trying to install cannot be approved by Apple. Trouble shooting steps include, making sure you have Current iTunes installed, make sure your Hosts file of computer is not blocking Apple. Try restoring on another computer.

I've tried a lot of the stuff mentioned at that link and elsewhere, modifying host files etc. trying to downgrade my iPhone 4 back to 5.1.1 no luck , apple has locked up 5.1.1 for my phone and iPad . one post said I'm "stuck with iOS 6" darn I should have been more careful. I have the 5.1.1 Ispw on my MacBook its a permissions thing I don't understand. I'll post when I find a way around it and I will . iOS 6 took away most of my AirPlay functionality . to hek with iPhone 5 I'm starting to look at android. big bummer apple
