My iphone 4 wont start.

My iphone 4 wont start..Last night when I slept, it had 18% battery and when i got up, it had switched off..Now i've been trying t start it for nearly 2 hours but it wont do..Ive tried resetting it for 20secs,30secs 1min..nothing helps..Im currently running windows 8..
In addition i would add that when i connect my iphone to my laptop, it makes a sound (reffering that it connected), but when itunes open up, it shows an error..
Please suggest something.

try putting it in recovery mode and restoring it. first hold down power button then hold down home button at the same time for about 10 seconds, then itunes should say something like "detected an iphone in revocery mode" , then restore it. maybe it will help

NO CHANCE!!
It even wont connect with iTunes oder any other computer. :-(

Hi,
How long has it been since you started erasing the data?
If you chose Erase All Content and Settings, it likely needed more time to zero out or completely wipe the drive.

HT1430 iphone wont start after restore.

i restored my iphone 3g now it wont start and just shows the itunes logo & the charge plug. help! i tried to restart it but it just keeps coming back on with the itunes logo & charge plug.

Well, since I had a video signal, I assumed that the HDMI wasn't a problem.
Network (WIFI- using a new Time Capsule Airport) worked with all other Apple devices in the house.
Here's what I did to solve:
Unplugged ATV2
Waited 3 days (no particular reason- just no time to mess with it)
Performed a restore again (power was not plugged in to ATV during restore)
Reconnected.
Now it works fine.
Can't explain why.
(I don't think anything changed over those 3 days)
I guess if at first you don't restore, try, try again.

Iphone wont start after screen, lcd change.

Ok so i had dropped my iphone and broke my digitizer and main lcd display. no problem my iphone still worked. So i changed my lcd and digitizer and now my iphone wont turn on. Nothing "nada" I already did that home button power button reset and no apple logo nothing. Plugged into charger and nothing no battery meter no sign of life. I have done this before with no problem but i dont know what i did wrong. Also not even itunes will pick it up.. someone please help me

I completed the DFU mode and on my computer it would not work I think because of my security settings and I did not want to disable my antivirus so I used my moms computer who hasnt updated her antivirus and it worked using her laptop....when I did it on my computer I got Unknown Error 21 which when I researched it could have been the security on my computer so I would suggest this as well but also if you get an error its probably because of your security settings on your antivirus....good luck and thanks gdgmacguy

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.

TS3694 Iphone wont start after it turned off

I had an iphone 4 that i got 9 months ago. About a month ago the vibration stoppedworking... ok... i went to telia and got a new one changed, as soon as i got home... that one wouldnt work, it even broke my computer (how? first the usb ports wouldnt be working, so no mouse or keyboard) and then my windows wouldnt start.... no phone, no computer 2-3 days.... i managed to fix my computer, and get another phone new (this is relevant because i got a new os installed in my computer, clean install) lately my iphone would get stucked while usingsome apps and id had to switch them off and then hit them again to use them... Today while i was writting an sms... after i sent it... my phone switched off. Weird i though.... well lets keep going, i turned it on... and it wont turn on! it stays at the apple logo and then it restarts. (*** happened here). I went quiclky to itunes to fix it, to restore my iphone.... and BAM i got an error and it wont restore/update the iphone.
I have tried doing a hard reset, it wont turn on.
I cant put it in dfu mode since it starts "too quickly" or at least it feels like it starts directly into "connect to itunes" mode.so.... yea...

Well first off my sleep button/power button does not work. This is not new and I have been able to use my I phone 4 perfectly fine without it. Yesterday it stopped working went to a totally black screen. I have tried the Home button and signing into I tunes, but I tunes does not even recognize that I have aphone plugged in. I am at a loss of what to do, I cannot force a restore because nothing is recognizing that the phone is plugged into the computer. Interestingly when the phone went to black last night you could call it, never here anything and it would ring and never go to voicemail. It was plugged in all night and now it goes to voicemail

You say Recovery Mode is detected by iTunes. Restore the Firmware with iTunes, when done, it will be obvious if Restore was successful. If not, there will be Error Code which you can look up solution. If Restore fails iPhone is most likely beyond repair. If Restore is successful, but screen is still not functioning, either screen is faulty or Logic Board display controllers are faulty, try entire front screen assembly replacement. During all this if you decide iPhone is broken, replacement at Apple Store is only $149, unless you have Warranty or AppkeCare Coverage which it will be free.

Iphone wont start.BIG PROBLEM

It gets the apple logo for about 15 seconds then its just blank, no vibrations or anything. Its just dead!
I was erasing all the data from the phone choosing "Erase All Content and Settings" option and i remained without battery... I have tried entering DFU mode but same thing, gets apple logo, then IT DIES!
if i try to hold home button and then to plug in the usb cable it will show the icon on iphone to Itunes, but the problem is that my PC is not recognizing the iphone.

Need help iphone wont start !

there were a few problems with my iphone 3G so i decided to go to settings and erase all data and start a new. but now my iphone after booting just gets stuck at the apple logo and doesnt progress further.
am i doing anything wrong or are there things that i should do to get it to work

if its doing a secure wipe it can take some time... just plug it in and let it sit there.
not to make you panic but some here have waited 16 hours for it to complete

Dropped iPhone wont start

I just dropped my iPhone 3GS. It landed square on the the top of it where the sleep/wake button is. The display immediately cut out. I connected the Phone to itunes in recovery mode and attempted to restore it. However I got an error message saying it could no be restored ( Error Code 1604).
Anyway I can fix it or does this need servicing? How much would hardware repairs like this cost ???

An out of warranty exchange through Apple is 199.00 USD (this will vary from country to country). You can try to find a 3rd party iPhone repair shop and ask them how much it will be to fix your phone.

My iPhone wont start up properly

When i download something and then it has to reboot or when i turn off my phone and then have to turn it back on again the apple shows up when turning on(as normal), but then it stays on that screen for a long time and it doesnt change. Sometimes the screen goes black (as if turning off) but then the apple shows up again and nothing else happens, What can i do?

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...

After installing a new app my iphone wont start

i installed an app and i was requested to reboot phone, after i accepted the phone was shut down but did not open at all it is stuck with the pineapple picture forever, i left it yesterday all night like this but also nothing, i am trying to backup but the itunes on my desktop didnt recognize it.
