If you mean the "no entry" sign, a circle with a slash through it, then you need to reinstall Mountain Lion.
Boot into the Recovery HD by holding down cmd-r at startup tone until gray screen.
From there, reinstall Mountain Lion. -

I need help placing an iphoto order online for prints. I have a few pictures I want in a few sizes and it seems to only allow me to select one at a time. I have held the command key down but it defaults to the last picture i selected. I appreciate your help.What system and iPhoto versions are you using? As a quick test try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. See if you can get all of the selected photos in the order window as it should be.
If you can't then try this: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

So I have a Samsung laptop with a terabyte of space, my itunes is up to date. i went online to redeem the code for my digital copy of the first season of game of thrones but when it downloaded, only 1 episode downloaded. why didn't the rest of my episodes download? how do i get them?

It looks like Firefox has started ok, all the tabs are populated, but nothing can be accessed by clicking except the Close button and the right hand scroll bar... it is frustrating. Firefox 3 works fine still.
Create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

My wife has a new I-pad2. i have I-phone synched on a mac laptop.
How can she synch the ipad to the laptop i-tunes to synch music etc ??Configure in iTunes.
Be forewarned that iCloud can throw a monkey wrench into this. Post back if you have that situation. -
I have several options for SMTP outgoing server. I set one to default and try to send. it fails and uses the first one in the list.
I restart Thunderbird and try to send. It uses the first one in the list.
I eliminate all SMTP servers from the list but the one I want, and it works.
What am I missing, this I have observed this problem on all of my systems for a long time?

Carlwhat your missing is that account have an SMTP sever associated with them, which if your "in" an account over rides the "default"
Right click an account folder and select settings.
Click on the account name in the settings and on the right is a drop down list and the "default" smtp for that account. -
I was looking through my pictures and when i tapped to see a specific one my ipod blacked out. Now the screen only shows the apple icon and I cant go anywhere. I tried preshing the on/off and home button but it won't work. I even pressed both at the same time for 10 seconds and still nothing... I connected it to my lap top and went to my itunes account but it tells me that the device that i just plugged in has an error. I already tried plugging it back in several times and it still won't work. I don't know what else to do. I havn't had it for a whole year yet so its still insured to the apple company right? at least thats what I heard
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

its really weird my iphone just cut out yesterday and nothing was working hard reset anything left it on a docking station all night and this morning when i woke up the apple sign appeared, have tried doing a hard restore and to no success. It has now blacked out again any suggestions?

If MacKeeper corrupted the Recovery partition then even I underestimated its potential for damage. Garbage "cleaning" apps will cause misery but I have not found that the Recovery partition to have been affected by using MacKeeper or anything like it. I doubt that it did so, but I have learned not to underestimate the potential for such things to result in system corruption.
Before concluding your Mac has a hardware failure, try booting OS X Internet Recovery by holding command option r on startup (three fingers). That will force your iMac to bypass the Recovery partition altogether, and convey the ability to create a new one.
An Internet connection will be required (wired or wireless).
At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red. If Disk Utility reports "The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK" in green then you can be reasonably (though not completely) assured your hard disk is in good working order.
Assuming the HD remains usable you can then use Disk Utility to erase it. Reinstall OS X, restore your essential software and other files, and don't reinstall the junk. -

If you carefully follow all of the instructions in this tip and none of them restore WiFi then your radio chip has failed and you need to get the phone replaced by Apple. -
My MacBook Air, once pressed the power button, comes up with a file containing a question mark. I have tried re-starting it but this logo continues to appear and will not go. I cannot log onto my mac. Any suggestions as to what this is please?
You need to reinstall OS X:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -
