My iPhone 4s has been going black and shutting down then restarting itself, why?
Why does my iphone 4s keep going to a black screen, shutting down then restarting on its own??? Just started happening a day ago. Will I need to get a new phone or can this be fixed?

Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen items. A carrier may offer IMEI blocking (non in the USA currently do, but elsewhere some do). Your carrier would already know your IMEI number anyway, so just contact them and ask them about it.
It is VERY good that you had a passcode lock on the device. That means your personal information will be safe. And yes, after 10 failed attempts (each with increasing time out between allowing another attempt) the device will permanently lock them out until they restore the device in iTunes. Anyone can go ahead and restore your iPhone as new in iTunes, but that also wipes everything off it and restores it to new condition - which does mean they can go off and use it as theirs, but at least all your data is gone.
Did you file a police report it was stolen? Also your carrier should be told (and ask them about IMEI blocking). Sorry it is gone, but you did the best thing possible to protect yourself and your information when you set up that passcode lock. -

Can't make or receive any calls. When making a call, you see the thing dialing but no tone, it rings at he other end however. When somebody trying to call me, it does not ring at my end. If you try to end the call, the phone page will just freeze, when you exit the phone page to go try the MP3 player for example, and come back, the phone is still trying to end the previous call. I tried resetting the network settings, turn the phone off and on , no difference at all. It's easter Sunday, everything is closed here in Montreal. -

If you restored to factory settings without help, your phone has a hardware problem or was hacked/jailbroken at some point. Take it to Apple for evaluation. There is nothing further you can do.

Any ideas I can't get it started. Thought I would ask for help before making a genius appt.Thanks that was very helpful info. I was able to boot into the recovery disk partition and run some basic HD tests and it found no issues. Then I booted into the hardware test and it found no issues. After these tests it still failed to boot into Mavericks. I'm guessing its a software issue and I can not find the original computer disk. I have a time machine backup from 2 months ago and I could use the disk utility on the recovery sector to launch it but I want to wait and see if I can boot from a software DVD first. If I can repair the current OS that is my best option.

Your phone is in recovery mode. Did you plug it to the computer running itunes? What happend?

My ipod touch starts to turn on, then turns black and shuts down?!
so when i hold the power button to turn on my ipod it starts to turn on. The apple sign appears and stays on the screen for about 25 seconds. Then the screen will return to black and shut off.

Hi apple, I have recently purchased an iphone 5s of december of this year. So far i have had no problems and things were going fairly smooth. But up until recently, i was using my phone and all of a sudden the screen went blue and shut off. I was able to get it to the home screen an i though it was a 1 time thing. But it has been happening a lot recently and it has gotten to the point where it keeps trying to shut itself off then the screen goes blue. I dont know what to do and i was wondering if there is some kind of a refund for this or some way to fix it.

I had 50/25 internet installed yesterday, and has been going in and out since. What's wrong?
Just to clarify, when I say going in and out, I never lose either "internet light" on my modem or on my computer. It stays connected but the speeds drop to basically zero and I cannot open anything. It seems to only happen when I have more than one internet page open at a time. For example, if I have a YouTube video playing and try to open Google, the video will stop loading and Google wont load whatsoever. This little outage lasts about a minute then both pages will reload. Until it happens less than 5 minutes later and I can't open anything again.
Is this a bandwidth problem? I have done speedtest multiple times and it's a hit or miss. When the internet is working I get a perfect run, but if not I'd be lucky to get past the ping test. I know **bleep** well 50/25 is more than enough to open youtube and google. Here is my latest speedtest. Like I said, it's hit or miss, I could go open another page then this wouldn't make it past ping.
