My iPhone 4S has had no sound for 2 months.What went wrong?

My phone is not even a year old. One day it worked, and the next day I could not hear the alarm. I updated the night before. It does not ring, Siri does not talk, there is no music, or speaker, alarm, or sound for games. I took it into AT&T and they said it was time for a new phone. I paid a lot of money for this phone a year ago and it should still work. It makes and receives calls, plays the games and Siri seems to still work, but I have no sound!

I have had no audio for about 48 hours now and am looking for some help please. At first I thought that it may have been a hardware failure but having done a system check windows is informing me that the internal speaker is enabled and that it is working normally. There has been no physical damage to the notebook either.
I have tried all of the standard troubleshooting techniques that are suggested and have tried restoring everything to the way it was about 4 days ago with no success.
The light next to the mute button has stopped lighting up no matter whether it is set to mute or not. In terms of the software if I perform standard tests and play audio through any programs it is being recognised by everything (speaker icon, 'beats' audio desk, applications etc) but there is just nothing to be heard.
The notebook is set to normally install automatic updates and I have seen from the forums that other people have been experiencing similar problems from across the board. Has an update been released that may have caused this?
Any help that people can offer in rectifying this problem that I'm assuming is software-based would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

IPhone 4S has started randomly asking for passwords; saying they're wrong

Hi Folks,
I don't normally post to these forums because I tend to solve my own issues, but I'm having a problem with my iPhone 4S which has stumped (and angered) me.
The device is running version 6.0.1 and isn't jailbroken or interfered with in any way.
A couple of days ago it started asking me to input the password for both my me.com and gmail.com accounts and when I did as prompted the device tells me that they're wrong - but they aren't! The issue means that I can't access either of my email accounts from my device and I can't download apps that I've previously bought and paid for.
I have tried:
Restoring the device
Deleting both accounts from the device and starting again
Using the Google captcha to give the device access permissions again
Rebooting
Turning off 2-step security on Google
Changing my me.com password
Changing my Google password
So far none of these have worked and I'm rapidly approaching my wits-end whereupon I hoy the device full pelt at a wall and buy something else.
Could anyone shed a little light (or sanity) to this issue?

What I am saying is ..........
The iPhone HAS to be active making calls on the UK carrier network for the carrier to identify as "theirs" and therefore eligible for the Carrier to unlock
The way to achieve this is to use a PAYG sim making and receiving calls to establish a customer relationship with the Carrier and then follow the Carrier's process to unlock
With a PAYG it usually means adding a specified (by the carrier ) amount usually £15 /£20 depending on the carrier
This is how O2 function and according to Gemma this is how Vodafone work

Only the carrier your phone is locked to can authorize your phone's official unlocking. There is no other way to get any iPhone officially unlocked. Unfortunately for you, none of the Japanese carriers offer unlocking for the iPhone. Thus, there is no way to get your phone officially unlocked.

I am guessing they have been caused by dirt between the cover and the rear of the phone; but that is despite me cleaning the back and the inside of the back cover regularly. Has anyone else had the same?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

I would have had the phone looked at long before a month of problems.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. You phone is under warranty and someone at an Apple store can help you.

My unibody macbook (latest 2010 model) wont connect to my home wifi. When it does which is rare, it is very slow. I have tried everything from renewing DCHP lease and such. This has been going on for two months.

It will not connect but my other apple devices can connect and the wifi works very well. I have moved houses to my house wifi isnt the same as the old one. Also, i have to type in the password every time even if i click autosave. Sometimes it also says invalid password or connection timeout. This has been going on for two months and is getting really annoying. I've tried most of the solutions listed on other discussions, none of them work. Any other tips? Thank you. I too have the same problem working property until about January or February this year...get "bad parameter' message trying to open files and then when I did the upgrade this a.m. it will not open at all, just spins and then disappears. I had this problem about a week ago and our IT man thought he had it resolved, even then kept getting 'bad parameter' and then this a.m. right back to not opening at all. Do you remember the the exact wording of the error message:
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
